Day 2: The Tools, Equipment, And Other Stuff You Need To Start Your Podcast
The biggest reason why most people don't start a podcast is because they don't know which tools and resources they need to get started. Many people also see it as a big investment to have your own podcast, but you can get started for as little as $5/mo. I'll share the different tools, equipment, and other stuff you need to start your podcast in this video.
Video notes...
Libsyn --use the coupon code BREAKTHROUGH to get the rest of this month and the following month for free. Libsyn is great if you only want to start one podcast and publish one episode each week. Libsyn has a monthly storage quota (50 GB/mo for their lowest plan).
Captivate.fm -- this podcast hosting option helps with growing your podcast and is a better choice if you can see yourself hosting multiple podcasts in the future or publishing more than one episode each week on your podcast. Captivate.fm has a monthly download quota (10k downloads per month for their lowest plan)
Repurpose.io -- allows you to easily republish your podcast episodes on YouTube, Facebook, and more!
Otter.ai -- great resource for transcribing your podcast episodes and other audio/video content
Zoom -- great option for interviewing guests and getting the video and audio recordings
Webex -- an emerging option for interviewing guests and getting the video and audio recordings
ScreenFlow and Camtasia are both great editing options. I have used ScreenFlow for a while with podcast episodes but am shifting towards iMovie for editing my YouTube videos.
Blue Yeti Microphone -- I love this microphone and use it for all of my podcasts
Tomorrow we will talk about getting guests on your podcast and how to prepare for each interview.
