There are a lot of things to do in an arcade. One of the popular attractions at the arcade is the claw machine. The prizes are usually stuffed animals, but the prizes in some of these claw machines can be electronic goods such as a phone or game console. In order to operate the claw, 2 or more coins are always needed.
Grabbing the prize you want is easy. Just bring down the claw, close it, and hope it holds onto the prize that you want. The only thing left to do is to move the prize to the corner where you will be able to win it. That’s the hard part.
The claw machine appears to be easy at first. Every time another hopeful is about to win another prize, the claw machine drops the prize back into the pile of unclaimed prizes and goes back to the corner.
It won’t take long to realize that the claw machine is a ripoff. No matter how many times people try to win a claw machine, the claw machine refuses to cooperate. Then, the person trying to win the prize may notice that some of the prizes are very old, maybe years old.
The person losing coin after coin to the claw machine may be frustrated that he or she got no prize. This frustration makes the person continue to spend coins on the claw machine. The same result happens: the claw machine does not deliver.
