Opinions and Popularity

I have an opinion, and not everyone is going to agree with it. If you have a giant fan base, you’ll be able to convince most of them that your opinion is the right one. With social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook dominating the web, celebrities, entrepreneurs, and well known people can build a strong following. Some people on Twitter are followed by over 1 million people. If someone with 1 million followers posted an opinion on Twitter, and 10% of the followers now agree with the opinion, that means 100,000 people agree with that opinion. These opinions can range from purchasing shoes to electing the next President. Opinions can lead to a final decision or more votes for your favorite President in future elections.

Your opinions can impact a small group of people or thousands of people. Your opinions can change a person’s perspective of what you are discussing. Your opinions can also hurt you because there are some Republicans and some Democrats. If your opinion shows any bias against a Democratic leader, chances are that people who respect that Democratic leader will unfollow you and lose interest in you. Opinions can be helpful, but they can also hurt your popularity.
