America’s Most Beloved Ballpark

Fenway Park has earned the title as America’s most beloved ballpark. Recently, I watched two games at Fenway Park. To my delight, the Red Sox won. I enjoyed walking through the stadium and being a part of the great atmosphere. Then, I thought about why Fenway Park is America’s most beloved ballpark.

  1. Fenway Park has been around for a long time. Over 100 years later, people are still attending games at Fenway Park and watching the Red Sox play. 21st century technology is not keeping Fenway Park intact. There are many columns that support the upper decks of the stadium.
  2. Fenway Park’s dimensions are different from every other ballpark. I’m not talking about the number of feet. Many ballparks are different in that regard. In right field, it’s very easy to get a ground-rule double. The walls are so small that in order to rob a homerun, a right fielder doesn’t even have to jump (if the baseball is close enough). Center field has a triangle and a bigger wall. Then, in left field is the famous Green Monster.
  3. The Red Sox are a good team. Although the Red Sox had that 86 year curse, they were still very good. By the end of 2013, the Red Sox will have made it into the playoffs more than 20 times. Many of those playoff appearances have been recent which lead to many sell outs at Fenway Park.
  4. Fenway Park has played host to many memorable events. The 100 year anniversary, Fisk’s home run off of the foul pole over the Green Monster, and the All Star Game in 1999 are just some of the few memorable events that occurred at Fenway Park.

Those were the reasons I could think of although I know there are many other reasons why Fenway Park is America’s most beloved ballpark as well. If you want a beloved business, be unique and stay around.
