The Three Thoughts That You Need To Get Rid Of Right Now To Become Successful

June 15, 2014 by Marc Guberti 4 Comments

Bad Thoughts To Have

You have more control over your success than you realize. Success starts with having the right mindset. You can have all of the connections and all of the revenue to implement a campaign. No matter how many resources you have, many or few, everything comes down to your mindset. Although the mindset is important, many people have different thoughts in their head that prevent them from becoming successful. Having these thoughts will lead you to the wrong path and slow down your success. Before you launch another campaign, write another word for a blog post, or send out another tweet, you need to get rid of these three thoughts so you can reach success at a faster rate.

  1. Believing that you need to be perfect. There is no person or business that is perfect. If you think you are the exception, you need to wipe that out of your mind. You will make mistakes, people will say bad things about your business, and your book will get a bad review. Instead of being perfect, you need to be as perfect as possible to the people that matter for your business–your target audience.
  2. Believing that you have settled. The only people who believe they have settled are the ones who have given up and never go far. That does sound harsh, but sometimes the truth needs to be harsh in order for it to be acknowledged. Never settle with where you are. Keep on growing and experimenting with new ideas. One of those ideas may allow you to grow twice as fast as you would have grown if you settled.
  3. Doubting your abilities. In order to become successful, you need to believe in your ability to become successful. If you doubt yourself, you will constantly be afraid of taking steps forward. For the people with this mindset, it only takes a few more steps forward for the entire plan to collapse and fall apart. The doubt will consume you and prevent you from seeing what you have already accomplished and that you are a credible person in your niche.

Those are the three thoughts that you need to get rid of as quickly as possible. These three thoughts are the biggest hurdles for success. If you don’t have the revenue yet, your faith and desire to keep on growing will allow you to eventually obtain the revenue you need. If you have any of these three thoughts running through your mind, then you need to do everything in your power to get those thoughts out of your mind. Look at success stories of the leaders in your niche, get a motivational quotes app for your phone, read inspirational books, listen to music from Rocky, and do anything else that you can do in order to raise your spirits and get these thoughts out of your mind.

How To Remain Patient Through Hard Times

June 14, 2014 by Marc Guberti 3 Comments

Patience Is A Virtue

Something that almost everyone despises is remaining patient. Remaining patient after putting in a lot of work for months and years is what allows people to become successful. Every successful blogger has a lot of patience. It takes a lot of dedication to continue writing 1 blog post every day even when no one is visiting. It’s when the blogger gets 100 daily visitors when everything starts to pay off (and grow even faster).

Most people tend to be at the stage of the game that requires a lot of patience. This stage of the game is not a matter of knowing what to do. It’s a matter of already knowing what to do, learning more along the way, but having to put in the same amount of work (or more than that) every day until something magical happens. When that magical thing happens, your traffic stats, followers, and sales will soar.

I was very patient with my blog. During my first month, I got a whooping 38 views. Now I get over 100,000 visitors every year. It took me 30 months to go from where I started to getting 100,000 visitors every year.

I said that every successful blogger needs to be very patient in order to be successful, but I would like to expand the definition to any successful person. It doesn’t matter what niche you are in. Success requires putting in a lot of work while remaining patient. Steve Jobs had to be very patient in order to become successful. So did Mark Cuban, Richard Branson, and all of the other successful people in the world.

Now that you know that patience is a critical component towards becoming successful, you should know exactly how to remain patient through hard times. One of the best ways to remain patient is to remember why you started. Did you start because you wanted more financial flexibility? Did you start because you want to become the best person in your niche? There are a variety of reasons why you could have started, but by reminding yourself why you started, you will give yourself the motivation you need to continue and remain patient.

It’s also beneficial to realize that every successful person had to be patient as well. I went into great detail about this, but it is important to realize that the people who you admire had to be very patient. Do you admire a professional athlete? Just remember that the professional athlete you admire is someone who spent countless hours practicing, playing the sport throughout high school and college, playing for farm team systems, and then excelling once the opportunity presented itself. Do you admire a marketer? There was one point when no one knew about that particular marketer.

There was also a point when no one knew about you. You may think that is still the case, but there are people who have learned about you in the past months. You are going through the same journey that the most successful people in the world went through. Not only did it take a long time for these successful people to go through these journeys, but they also failed numerous times along the way. I’m sure that would encourage you to remain patient through hard times. Just because you fail does not mean you have to throw in the towel. Failure gives you another reason to get up and continue so that you are eventually able to get it right…and become successful at the same time.

When all else fails, look at success stories of other people and envision yourself becoming that successful. Envision yourself getting the same results as the person who is already successful. Think about the dream and imagine what would happen if it turned into a reality. This will give you the motivation and patience you need to learn more about your niche, get more work done, and implement more tactics in order for your dream to become a reality.

Those are the best ways to remain patient through hard times. There are other ways to remain patient, but out of all of the methods out there, I have had the most success at remaining patient with the methods I included in this blog post. What are your thoughts about the methods I use to remain patient? Do you have any additional tips on staying patient? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

A New Way To Look At Obstacles

June 11, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

When we think of obstacles, we think of something that is scary. We think of how unlikely it is for our ideas to work and ultimately get consumed in fear. Obstacles are the barriers to success, but most people prefer to sacrifice success in order to avoid the obstacles.

Instead of looking at an obstacle as a necessary evil, you need to look at an obstacle as a benefactor. Obstacles allow you to get more experience and learn from your mistakes.  Everyone who has ever become successful faced obstacles at some point in their journeys. Even the billionaires have faced obstacles before. Traf-O-Data was a bust while Virgin Vodka didn’t go far either.

Obstacles are tough to get through. However, overcoming the obstacles makes winning so much better. Success feels so much better after you are able to jump over all of the hurdles and keep on going forward past those obstacles. Obstacles are a part of your journey. Enjoy them for what they are while knowing that with persistence and dedication, you will be able to conquer all of the obstacles in front of you.

What are your thoughts on obstacles? Do you have any tips about overcoming obstacles or have any obstacles to share? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

Mortality As A Motivational Tool

June 8, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

End Of The Road

Everyone is looking for a source of motivation. Some people look for motivation in the music they listen, the books they read, and the inspirational quotes they get from the Forbes list. However, few people are able to keep the motivation they get from the songs and quotes they read and listen to on the internet. In order to gain and keep motivation, you need to think of a bigger picture that will almost force you to accomplish your dreams. It’s very easy to think of, but for most people, it will also be very scary. This kind of motivation is your own mortality.

Although not everyone agrees about where you go once time is up, it is agreed upon that we are by no means immortal. Many people want to think that they will live forever and only pursue dreams at an old age when they seem almost impossible to reach. Although there are success stories such as the one of 65-year-old Colonel Sanders founding KFC, most people give up on their dreams and do not get their goals accomplished at this age. Unfortunately, this occurrence is too common in every age group. Fewer people are pursuing their own dreams because they lack the motivation to do so.

I get my sources of motivation just like anyone else. I have an inspirational quotes app on my iPhone, watch some of Tony Robbins’ videos, and read success stories about people in my niche who make six figures every year. Then came a new way for me to gain motivation–thinking about my own mortality. In my opinion, one of the few problems (depending on how you look at it) technology will not be able to fix is our mortality. Technology has made us live longer and can make us live even longer, but immortality is out of the question.

If someone came up to me and told me about the motivational “secret weapon”, I would be very objective when I heard that the “secret weapon” was thinking about mortality. It’s scary and makes us realize that we don’t live forever. However, the person who used his own mortality as a source of motivation was the leader of a generation, Steve Jobs. I could go on about how he got kicked out of Apple and then ended up saving the day while doing other cool things along the way, but it is more important to realize what motivated him throughout his life. Some of the years he lived were very tough. He was adopted, dropped out of college because his family couldn’t afford it, and right when Apple started to become successful, Steve Jobs got fired. The difficulties he faced and his perseverance alone are incredible. Even when he became successful and regained his position as Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs continued to be innovative. The motivation behind his desire to do so much in his life was his own mortality.

His belief in using mortality as a motivational tool towards success was reflected upon in one of his most famous inspirational quotes, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.”

We all have an effect on the people around us, and some of us have an effect on people on a global scale. Steve Jobs had an effect on people in California, New York, Europe, and everywhere else in the world. When most people think of Steve Jobs, they think of the visionary that transformed Apple. There are also people throughout history who are remembered for bad reputations and villainous acts. People will remember you for how you lived your life and what you did while you were here.

You may have a bucket list of all of the goals you want to accomplish. You may have the list of 100 places you want to visit before you die. You may want to make $1 million every month so you will be able to live a life without financial worries. You may want to become a bestselling author because it is something you strive for. You may want to run the mile in under four minutes for the glory of doing so. You may want to become successful at a faster rate and start moving instead of staying where you currently are.

We all want to accomplish many things in our lifetimes. However, we only have so much time to accomplish all of the things that we need to accomplish. There are more valuable things we can be doing with our times than watching 32 hours of TV every week. Time gets lost this way; time that you can never get back. Having efficient time management is one part of the puzzle, but a strong motivation the other part of the puzzle.

That motivation, the other piece of the puzzle, is thinking of your own mortality.

It’s something very scary. It’s something that few people ever want to think about. There are so many things uncertain about what happens when mortality creeps in. We have no clear idea of what happens after this stage and are forever left guessing until the time comes. However, there are events in your life that you can control. You may not be living the ideal life right now, but you can change that. Whether you are a stay at home mom trying to bring in more revenue, someone who works at three different jobs, or someone who gets fired too often, there is always enough time to change your life and fulfill your dreams. Colonel Sanders started KFC at 65 years old and got to live to be 90. He did not let the life he lived earlier prevent him from pursuing and eventually fulfilling his dream. Now we remember Colonel Sanders as someone who stayed true to his dream and never gave up on it, not someone who gave up on his life and stopped trying.

The leader of an entire generation used his mortality as a motivational tool to be very productive and accomplish his dream in a predicament where most people would have given up. Although avoiding the thought of mortality at all costs is the easier option, it may be the motivation you need to realize your time is so valuable and you only have so much of it in your lifetime.

You Probably Don’t Know What Traf-O-Data Or Virgin Vodka Were

May 30, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Traf-O-Data was a business with an objective of reading raw data from roadway traffic counters and create reports for traffic engineers. The company had modest success but quickly fell apart. This is one of the countless examples of a company falling apart, but the rest of the story is about perseverance.

One of the people who founded Traf-O-Data and watched it collapsed was some guy named Bill Gates. Even one of the richest men in the world had a business that fell apart. Bill Gates learned from Traf-O-Data’s collapse and created Microsoft.

That’s one story of an entrepreneur going from one collapsed business to creating something remarkable. There are many entrepreneurs who have gone from collapsed businesses to successful enterprises. One of those people was Richard Branson.

When you think of Richard Branson, you probably think of Virgin Airlines and Virgin Records. Chances are you do not affiliate Richard Branson with Virgin Coke or Virgin Vodka. Virgin Coke and Virgin Vodka are two of Branson’s businesses that quickly failed. After learning from his mistakes, Branson was able to start Virgin Airlines and become a billionaire.

The list goes on and on for entrepreneurs who first failed and then became very successful. Henry Ford’s first two car companies failed and left him broke. Mark Cuban was a carpenter and waiter among other things before becoming a billionaire. When looking at successful figures, we often forget that there was a point when these people were not successful. There was a point when all of the billionaires were struggling to make a living. The reason you didn’t know what Traf-O-Data or Virgin Vodka were is because few people accept the fact that billionaires were once regular people who just wanted to make it in the real world.

Maybe you may be in what seems to be a hopeless situation. Being broke after creating two businesses that failed, selling vodka, floundering amongst low paying jobs, and watching a business that was successful completely fall apart also seem like hopeless situations. Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Henry Ford, and Mark Cuban were in those hopeless situations.

How The “My Life Isn’t Good Enough” Mindset Works

May 29, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Mindset

In one of Tony Robbins’ videos, he discussed how the “My Life Isn’t Good Enough” mindset can set you up for success. It was an interesting video where he interviewed Frank Kern and John Reese about success. One of the parts of the formula got referred to as the “My Life Isn’t Good Enough” mindset.

Most people who think in this mindset know they have been dealt with an unfair hand, and they use that unfairness as an excuse. The people who constantly make excuses will not get themselves out of the “My Life Isn’t Good Enough” mindset. While most people see this mindset as a way to crush dreams and settle with being unfulfilled, there is another way to take advantage of this mindset.

There are many people who have used this mindset to become very successful. The people who used this mindset to become successful realized their lives were not good enough, but took action to make their lives better. That’s why you hear about the stories of people going from $100k in debt to making over $1 million in 1 night. That’s why certain people get to become professional athletes.

This mindset is the creating or breaking point of your success. If you use this mindset to limit yourself, you will remain limited. However, if you use this mindset to realize you need better results and be inspired to take action, then this mindset will allow you to become very successful.
