The Greedy Erode Quickly

June 25, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

There is always going to be a person who has more Twitter followers than you (unless you’re Justin Bieber). Even the people with over 10,000 followers may not be satisfied that their competition has over 100,000 followers.

Having 10,000 followers is a great accomplishment (if the followers are real). There are two attitudes that the person with 10,000 followers can have:

  1. Be happy and interact with their followers.
  2. Look more at the guy with 100,000 followers than their 10,000 followers.

The first choice is the best because the person with 10,000 followers is grateful. This person will talk with their followers, and this person will gradually get more followers as well.

The second choice is not the path that you want to take. It is good to set goals such as getting 100,000 followers, but don’t look at the other people who already have 100,000 followers. By looking at people with the 100,000 followers, the other 10,000 people will be seen as insufficient. The person with 10,000 followers will not interact with their followers. Instead, they will simply tweet out more content and follow more people until they have 100,000 followers. Once they finally get 100,000 followers, they will see someone with 200,000 followers. The quest to get more followers, tweet out more content, and avoid interaction continues.

It is great to see goals, but don’t get greedy. Greed leads to envy which turns you away from what you already have.

Using The Paper Airplane Productively

June 25, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Creating paper airplanes can be a productive way to use paper. You can put messages on paper airplanes and throw them to friends. Depending on how you use a paper airplane, it can be very productive.

However, they are not seen as productive by everyone. The main reason why people use paper airplanes is to fool around in a classroom. Those paper airplanes are taken and tossed into the trash.

There are videos that show you how you can make a paper airplane always go straight or curve. A paper airplane can be thrown to someone else like a football. However, in that paper airplane could be information about something.

The paper airplane is usually seen as an unproductive source of fooling around. However, if no one has a football to play with, or someone wants to get a notice faster, paper airplanes can be helpful.

What most entrepreneurs wouldn’t dare to try are the very things that the few attempt to do.

25 Blue-Ribbon Tactics To Obliterate Writer’s Block

June 24, 2013 by Marc Guberti 1 Comment

We all must overcome writer’s block when it comes along. These are some ways to overcome writer’s block and think of new ideas for your content at the same time.

  1. Close your eyes. If you like what you see, write about it.
  2. Look at your surroundings. Something you see right away could lead to more content.
  3. Read a book. The title of the book or a sentence in the book can lead to a blog post.
  4. Watch YouTube videos. Videos grab our attention.
  5. Go outside and get some fresh air. I run 4-8 miles every day.
  6. Look at other blogs. Those blogs could inspire your next post.
  7. Look at the trending topics. Those are topics everyone wants to read about.
  8. Think about your hobby. What can you write about relating to your hobby.
  9. Look at your favorite posts. This brings back memories.
  10. Write on another blog. Connect the two blogs together.
  11. Guest blog post. Write about anything you want and link it back to you.
  12. Avoid looking at your inbox. The inbox is a distraction.
  13. Build something. I build Legos.
  14. Create a Squidoo lens. Writing about something different always helps.
  15. Create a Keynote presentation. Put your content on slides.
  16. Read the news from a reliable news source. You might find something that you like.
  17. Meditate. Clear your mind.
  18. Write your goals in a notebook. Then act upon them.
  19. Work somewhere else. A new workplace will inspire new content.
  20. Take a nap. Short naps during our least productive hours are very beneficial.
  21. Look at Google images. You might find an image that could inspire your next post.
  22. Turn off the computer. Staring into a screen won’t do any good.
  23. Tweet on Twitter. The 140 character limit will prevent you from writing too much.
  24. Create a list just like this one. They help out, a lot.
  25. Keep on writing. Your business will become stronger.

Patience Is A Hit Or Miss Opportunity

June 24, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Only 11% of bloggers use their blogs as their primary source of income. The other 89% are missing out on the secret. Here’s what they are missing:

It takes patience to go from an unknown to the next big thing. However, most people look at the word “patience” in a variety of wrong ways.

Many people think that a year separates them from making $0 a month to over $1,000 a month. It takes many years in order to achieve success. This is where people think they have been patient enough, but in reality, they give up before they can see their full potential.

Another problem with the word patient is that people think success is guaranteed within a certain amount of years. In 5 years, your blog will go from 0 visitors a day to thousands of visitors every day.

Is that possible? The answer is yes. However, people expect those results to happen whether or not they try to get more traffic such as increasing their blog’s SEO and taking other steps to increase traffic.

The 11% who are professional bloggers making a full income from their blogs never gave up and knew what the word patient meant. The other people who don’t look at blogging as a full income stream didn’t bother looking at the word patience, or they looked at the word wrong.

Ideal Frequency Of Blog Posts

June 23, 2013 by Marc Guberti 1 Comment

There are a lot of people who use different frequencies for their blog posts. Some bloggers create new blog posts every day while others post on their blog every week. There is no shirt that fits all in the frequency of blog posts.

The content of a blog is important, but getting your name to appear on other blogs and websites (guest blogger, interview, etc) will allow you to build up an audience. Many people who support blogging once a day tell other bloggers that the more you write, the better your SEO is.

I personally always publish at least 1 post every day. Sometimes, I will publish 2 posts on a single day. The second post I publish is usually a post about one of my products that gets published in the afternoon.

However, I am changing my approach towards the frequency that I blog. Statistics show that most people visit blogs during the morning and late at night. If you want to write a blog post every day, either publish the blog post in the morning or late at night.

I am going to try to publish 2 blog posts every day for an entire week (the first one at 9 a.m. as always and the second on at 9 p.m.). After a week, I will determine whether or not it will be too much work to publish content at that frequency.

The more you post, the better. However, don’t sacrifice quality to get quantity. If I realize I am sacrificing quality to get quantity, I will stop posting twice a day. If I am still able to get a lot of quality posts in, I will keep it up.

There is no shirt that fits all. My method was to publish 1 post every day, and now I am going to try publishing 2 posts every day. The Huffington Post and other news blogs publish over 100 posts every day. Some bloggers only put new content on their blog once a month.

It depends on what you are looking that will result in the right frequency for you.

Turning Your Fears Into Ideas That Lead To Growth

June 22, 2013 by Marc Guberti 1 Comment

Apple has become a powerful company because it was able to create a lot of great products and sell them. There are many devices Apple has sold such as the iPhone, Mac, iPad, a mouse for the Mac, and others as well.

There are a lot of things you can say about the devices Apple produces such as reliable, fast, easy to use, or incredible. I use 2 devices I got from Apple every day (my iPhone 4S and Mac Book Pro). However, when people describe Apple’s products, few will say something about the number of buttons.

The iPhone has only 1 button. The iPad has only 1 button. The Mac has a very small power button at the corner. The mouse has only 1 button as well. Apple’s competitors had buttons all over their devices, so why did Apple do things differently?

Having less buttons in my opinion allows me to do more on my Apple devices. I am able to find the exact button I am looking for since there aren’t many buttons to choose from. This could have been the reason why Apple avoided using a lot of buttons, but after doing some research on Steve Jobs, I figured out the answer.

Steve Jobs had button phobia. He couldn’t stand buttons. If you look up pictures of him doing a Keynote presentation about the newest Apple products, you won’t find any buttons on his shirt. As the CEO of Apple, his fear of buttons made an impact on the designs of Apple products.

Apple products have few buttons, but that doesn’t mean Apple’s devices aren’t useful. I use them every day, and I never have to worry about finding the right button to click.

Steve Jobs had a fear of buttons, and one of the many reasons Apple is a thriving company is because there aren’t many buttons on their devices. If Steve Jobs did not have a fear of buttons, more buttons would have probably been added to Apple devices.
