Why Being Consistent Is Essential

December 29, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Consistency

Being consistent is crucial towards success. By being consistent, people will be able to expect something at a certain time or similar results. There are a lot of benefits towards being consistent.

For starters, writing blog posts on a consistent basis will result in more traffic and more visibility from the search engines. If you always blog every day or every week at the same time, people will know when to look at your blog for a new post.

Consistency also help out a lot with social media. If you consistently tweet a lot on a consistent basis, more people will be able to see your tweets. If you are pinning on a daily basis, people will notice. You will see your repins and retweets increase.

When you come up with your New Year’s resolutions or a giant list of goals, remember that consistency is essential. Over 80% of people give up on their New Year’s resolutions in February because they realize these resolutions have to be carried out from January to December.

By being consistent, people will pay attention to what you have to say. When people pay attention to you in the masses, you will grow a big following that will constantly grow as the days go by.

Showing up isn’t half the battle. Showing up consistently is half the battle.

5 Ways To Leverage Your Blog With Social Media

December 29, 2013 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

When it comes to getting more traffic to your blog, social media can have a powerful impact. There are a lot of components that stop people from maximizing the potential of their social network and bring a lot of traffic to your blog. These are some ways to leverage your blog with social media and get the best results:

  1. Post your blog posts on social media consistently. On Twitter, I tweet about my blog 20 times every day. The other 4 tweets I send out on a daily basis are motivational quotes.
  2. It’s okay to have repeat posts on social media about the same blog post. Not everyone will see what you post on social media. In order to get more of your followers to see your blog posts, you need to send out multiple posts on your social networks about the same blog post. Depending on the blog post and how many tweets I already have scheduled, I usually tweet about an individual blog post once every two days. The blog posts that I tweet frequently get clicked and retweeted.
  3. Connect with your followers. If they have questions, you need to answer those questions. If your followers see you as a reliable person, they will ask you more questions and look at your blog.
  4. Add your blog’s link in your bio. This is a step that people miss. When you follow this step, there are some benefits. The benefit that a lot of people know about is when people view your bio, they may decide to look at your blog. A benefit that less people know about it that these links to your blog count as backlinks. Just by adding my blog’s link to my Pinterest account, I got a backlink from Pinterest. Having a backlink from a social network is a quality backlink which will boost your blog’s SEO.
  5. Quality, quality, quality. In order for a blog post to spread, it needs to be a quality blog posts. No matter how much marketing you do for a low-quality blog post, it won’t work in the long run. By writing quality blog posts, your marketing tactics will be able to work, and people will recognize you as an expert of your niche.

Social media is a powerful tool that has the potential to transform your blog if used to its potential. By utilizing these tactics, you will be able to dramatically improve your results and get more traffic to your blog.

Focus On One Big Goal

December 28, 2013 by Marc Guberti 6 Comments

There are a lot of people who have many unrelated goals. The time these people spends accomplishing their goals gets scattered, and as a result, these people know a little bit about many things. In order to have a thriving business, you need to focus on one big goal.

All of your goals should impact the big goal. The big goal may be to increase blog traffic. Using social networks, writing longer blog posts, and doing some research on SEO are some of the things that you would have to do in order to increase blog traffic which is the big goal.

Few people focus on a big goal. However, those people are the ones who we know about. The farmers who plant the small pumpkins don’t get remembered as well as the farmers who plant the giant pumpkins.

You should focus on planting a giant pumpkin instead of planting many small pumpkins. It is better to be an expert in one particular area than to be an expert at everything. An expert at everything is really an expert of nothing, but an expert in a particular area is the expert that is highly sought.

What do you want to accomplish the most? That’s what you need to start first. All of your other goals should be related to what you want to accomplish.

5 Pinterest Mistakes To Avoid (Part 2)

December 27, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

A while ago, I wrote a blog post about 5 Pinterest Mistakes To Avoid. After learning more about Pinterest and using it more often, I decided to come up with a second part for this post. Pinterest is a powerful social network, but it is important to avoid these mistakes:

  1. Not following others. I made the mistake of not following others back when I wrote Part 1. I decided to follow people on Pinterest in an attempt to get more followers. Before I followed people on Pinterest, I was gaining around 5-10 followers every day. Now that I am following back on Pinterest, I am gaining over 100 followers every day. More people know about following others on Twitter, but I encourage you to also follow people on Pinterest.
  2. Not commenting on other pins. By commenting on other people’s pins, more people will be able to see your account, and you may have a conversation with the pinner. Only 1% of an average pinner’s time is spent commenting on other people’s pins. By commenting on other people’s pins, your comment will appear on the top. If you are the only person who left a comment on a pin that went viral, a lot of people are going to see your Pinterest account.
  3. Not utilizing Pinterest’s search feature. When I follow people, I make sure to follow people who would be interested in what I have to say. I use Pinterest’s search engine to find popular boards about social media. I follow that board and a lot of that board’s followers. Then, I get more followers, and all of those new followers are also interested in what I pin about.
  4. Not making money on Pinterest with advertised pins. I am not a big fan of advertising on a blog, but Pinterest is different. You can create a board with all of the advertisements. You will be able to receive a commission for each of those ads. You can make money with advertised pins on Pinterest by using Pinbooster or by allowing advertisers to contact you on your blog.
  5. Not pinning infographics. It is possible to be successful on Pinterest without infographics, but they are very helpful. Mix some infographics with the other things that you pin.

Those are the 5 mistakes to avoid on Pinterest. You can take a look at Part 1 here.
