10 Ways To Get Better Time Management

Welcome back! I am so happy to see that you have come back for more.

Poor time management skills is a worldwide problem. Goals are written down, but the time to do those goals is never found. Goals get scratched off the list, and the New Year’s resolutions lists get shorter. However, there is a solution towards time management. By consistently implementing these 10 tactics, you will be able to get better time management and get more done.

  1. Identify your priorities. These are the goals that need to get accomplished before any of your other goals. Priorities should be determined based on deadline, the impact of accomplishing the goal, and how much you want to accomplish that goal.
  2. Give yourself a schedule. What are you going to do month by month, week by week, and day by day? Write it all down in a notebook.
  3. Systematize certain aspects of your business. I have YouTube videos scheduled past February. Do you have anything that has been systematized?
  4. Ask yourself every day, “What did I do for my business?” Do not go to bed, take that nap, or take your break until you can answer this question (with something other than “no”).
  5. Create a big list of goals. A big list of goals will result in you doing more work. When you give yourself more work, you will force yourself to adapt.
  6. Eliminate the distractions. When you are working, there’s no need for the telephone, music, or mobile phone. In some cases, there isn’t even a need for the internet. Temporarily disconnect from your Wi-Fi network if you don’t need to use it.
  7. Give yourself a reason to keep going. Think of where you will be in a year if you manage your time properly.
  8. Only take 30 minute breaks. After those breaks, work for 90 minutes.
  9. Designate some tasks to others. Don’t give yourself more work than you have to.
  10. Do a short workout before you do your work. By doing a workout, your body releases chemicals that make you feel happy and positive. By feeling happy and positive as you work, you will be able to get more done.

Obvious but practical – maybe one more could be added – remind yourself of these actions atleast once a year by going through such checklists!

I like the idea of looking back at the checklists. I have been collecting and storing my checklists since March 3, 2014. It is amazing to look back, see the goals I wrote and had to accomplish at that time. This tip definitely boosts gratitude towards present accomplishments.

Checklists are great for being more productive. I am happy to hear that you collect your own checklists too.
