There are a lot of business books out there that are about a variety of things. Some business books deal with staying on top of the competition, the science that goes into business, tips for a niche, and so on. Out of all of the books I have read, these three books really stood out, and if you really want to kickstart the New Year, I recommend getting these books:
- Purple Cow: Seth Godin reveals how numerous businesses were able to go from normal to remarkable. Safe is no longer safe. In order to be noticed, you have to be risky. Purple Cow has received praise from numerous marketers, and over 200,000 copies have been sold
- The Pumpkin Plan: This plan will show you how to turn any business into a successful one. Mike Michalowicz used this plan to create three powerful businesses, and one of them was sold to a Fortune 500 Business. The Pumpkin Plan is all about getting more clients, treating them right, and watching the results come in.
- The 12 Week Year: This book will allow you to be more productive than your competitors. The 12 Week Year is a solid plan that will bring a sense of urgency in everything that you do. A year is no longer 12 months. It’s only 12 weeks.

These three books all seem extremely helpful and insightful. Just wanted to let you know I ordered the Purple Cow off of Amazon already 🙂 My absolute favorite business book for entrepreneurs that I’ve come across recently is “Liber8 Your Business” by author Laura Humphreys (http://liber8yourbusiness.com/) <—-the website even lets you download a sample of the book if you're unsure about buying it; even though I highly recommend you do! The author stresses that an exit strategy is a must and that most business owners fail to think about the long term and this ultimately causes them to become slaves to their business, forever indebted. As a small business owner myself I have found myself busy taking care of what feels like absolutely everything without a clear intention of what exactly I'm doing it for. What's my end goal? Do I want to expand? Do I want to delegate more so that I'm doing less? Do I want to do this the rest of my life? The book features a revolutionary planning technique, the art of planning backwards! The author does a fantastic job in providing exercises and tutorials that really assist in teaching this new method and making it work for you and your business. I recommend it to anyone out there who has a business that is way too dependent on them. Hope you will check it out!
