In order to be a successful blogger, you either need to write 1 blog post every day or write 1 blog post every week that contains seven day’s worth of blog post content. There are numerous bloggers who are able to successfully write one blog post every day, but the large majority of bloggers think they are incapable of writing 1 blog post every day let alone a very insightful blog post every week in order to make up for it. The reason why some bloggers are able to write 1 blog post every day is not because they have more time than the people who do not write 1 blog post every day. The reason is that these bloggers use their time differently so they are able to write 1 blog post every day. In fact, some of these bloggers are able to write multiple blog posts in a given day just by making slight changes to their schedules.
One of the main reasons why some bloggers are able to write 1 blog post every day is because of good time management. These bloggers wake up early and give themselves multiple hours every day to write content. Some of that content turns into blog posts while other parts of the content turn into books. If you are getting 9 hours of sleep every day, see how you can trim it down to 7.5 hours of sleep. Scientific studies have shown that the people who get 6.5 to 7.5 hours of sleep live the longest, and if you are getting too much sleep, then that’s not good. Waking up earlier will make you healthier and allow you to be more productive.
Time management is definitely important, but it is not the only reason why some bloggers are able to write 1 blog post every day. Another reason why some people are able to write 1 blog post every day is because they write about the things that they enjoy. There are too many bloggers who write about certain topics just because they are popular. Just because a blog is all about a popular topic does not mean the blog becomes popular. In order for the blog to become popular, you need to be able to add new content to that blog for a long time before being able to get 100 daily visitors. Writing about something that you enjoy will make it easier for you to write in the beginning even when you are only getting one visitor on some days and no visitors on other days.
Another way to write 1 blog post every day is to have more ideas to choose from. Every day, before I stop working for the day, I surf on the web for content related to my niche. This content gives me the inspiration I need to think of good ideas for future blog posts. Having all of these ideas laid out before the morning will give you more time to do what is important at that moment–write new content.
By writing 1 blog post every day, you will be able to see a gradual increase in traffic over time. You may only see a 2% increase every week, but those 2% increases add up. As you continue to write content, implement tactics to boost your SEO, and effectively use your social networks, you will eventually see 10%, 20%, and higher increases in traffic within the week.

Hi Marc,
Thank you for sharing. I did a 21 day challenge of writing a blog post a day. That really helped me to get into a flow of creating content.
Marc Guberti says
Sounds like an interesting challenge. Also builds a habit in that time which is essential.

Time management is huge. For my niche, parenthood/adoption/activism, the actual living of these get in my way of writing consistently. On the weeks I post, I see significant growth so your advice is solid, as are you tips for research. I have also begun to contact every person in my sphere who I can interview or who can provide content. I also suggest interacting with the viewers of one’sblog. That inspires them to share your work, and friendliness goes a long way. You never know where a valuable collaboration may come from!

Thank you for the tips! I am just starting out with my blog and absorbing all that I can. It’s great to be reminded of why you are doing this in the first place.

Hi Marc
I am One of them who are not able to write one post every day, You Said right “Waking up earlier will make you healthier and allow you to be more productive” This line inspires me alot.. I will Implement Your Idea.
Thanks for sharing Your Point of View..

My pleasure. I actually started waking up at 5:30 am each day and it makes a big difference in productivity and how you look at the day ahead of you.

You said, “Every day, before I stop working for the day, I surf on the web for content related to my niche. This content gives me the inspiration I need …” That’s a great idea. For me, it’s too easy (and a bad habit) to spend what should be morning writing time surfing around, looking for inspiration. Finding it the night before then writing first thing, when my mind is fresh, is a much better method. Thank you for the inspiration, Marc!
Marc Guberti says
My pleasure Susan. I find myself doing everything the night before because I know it’s more difficult for me to concentrate. That’s when I’ll think of blog post ideas, write emails, respond to comments, and listen to audiobooks.

Marc,
I like the idea of searching for content on the web that’s related to your blog. I haven’t done this before but it seems like it would be helpful. I’m aiming to write 1 post every ten days for my two blogs. My issue is time management like you mentioned. I’m a teacher and already get up at 5:30. Then I’m exhausted by the time I get home. It’s tricky but I want to make writing a priority this coming school year!
Marc Guberti says
Awesome Jenna. I like the goal. Although I’m on the other side of the spectrum, I have an idea of what type of time commitment you have as a teacher (students show up for the entire school day just like teachers. The only big difference I see is that we have homework while teachers create lesson plans and grade tests).
My advice is to do a lot of it in the summer. I created my first blog and managed it in the summer because it was either that or boredom. Starting in the summer allowed me to acquire determination to keep it up throughout the school year. Now I can’t imagine a day when I’m not working within or on my business.

Hi Marc…
You gave an excellent article. It gives me better understanding of time management also.. Yes, as you said, bloggers have allotted particular time for blogging everyday. Someone will do daily and someone will post on weekly basis.. But, based on quality and rank, they get more visitors..
Thank you…
@gopi_talluri
Marc Guberti says
My pleasure Gopi. Writing 1 blog post per day is nice, but it all comes down to value. First time visitors don’t care whether you write one blog post per day or one blog post per month. They only care about the value. Writing multiple blog posts every week will allow you to build a loyal fan base of returning visitors.

Is the one-a-day schedule your recommendation for informational blogs only? Or for life-bloggers too?
Marc Guberti says
It is recommended for all bloggers because writing one blog post every day makes you become a better writer.
