I Just Started The 12 Week Year Plan

December 7, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

I have been reading The 12 Week Year for a while. Page 3 really inspired me to pursue my ideas further. Now, I’m putting the entire plan in effect. These are all of my goals:

  1. Finish an online training course for teenagers with my brother.
  2. Create another Udemy training course.
  3. Have over 50 scheduled blog posts.
  4. Have 5,000 pins.
  5. Have YouTube videos done past summer (28 videos total).
  6. Be in the middle of writing a book.

Putting these goals into effect is the hard part. These goals aren’t my 2014 resolutions. These goals have a deadline (February 22, 2014, for anyone curious about the deadline). Implementing The 12 Week Year Plan will change your business and your life.

5 Ways To Improve Your Blog’s SEO

December 7, 2013 by Marc Guberti 13 Comments

SEO is a very important part of your blog because it allows search engines such as Google to find your blog. Without a powerful presence on social media, having good SEO or not means the difference between being seen and being invisible. Here are 5 ways to improve your SEO so your blog gets noticed by the masses:

  1. Reduce your blog’s bounce back rate. For a really long time, I did nothing about bounce back rate. I didn’t know anything about bounce back rate, how to reduce bounce back rate, or that it even had an impact on SEO. There are a bunch of ways to reduce the bounce back rate on your blog, and all of them are easy to implement. After implementing these tactics, the bounce back rate for my own blog went from a rate of 83% to a rate of 62% in just one month.
  2. Use words in your blog posts’ titles that help out towards SEO. On this blog, there are a lot of posts with one of the following words in the title: SEO, Blogging, Social Media, Twitter, Pinterest, and Business. By using these keywords, people will find you when they type those keywords into Google’s search box.
  3. Keep your blog fresh. By updating your blog with new content as much as you can, you will rank higher for Google’s keywords. Google doesn’t want to put up a blog that hasn’t been updated for 2 years. Make sure your blog is properly getting updated so it rises above the competition. Showing up is not half the battle. However, showing up consistently is half the battle.
  4. Get backlinks for your blog. One way to get a backlink for your blog is by becoming a guest blogger. Another way to get a backlink for your blog is just by having your own Pinterest account. Another way to get a backlink from your blog is by commenting on other people’s blogs.
  5. Unlock social media’s potential. Social Media is big towards SEO. The reason I really like social media is that you have more control over your results. If you have a big following on a social network, you can get a lot of visitors to your blog that way. Include social media buttons at the bottom of your blog posts so your visitors can easily share your blog posts across all of their social networks.
  6. Bonus: I wrote a blog post about 100 Amazing Blogging Tips. Some of the tips are SEO related while others are just about having a successful blog.

Are You Interested Or Committed?

December 6, 2013 by Marc Guberti 5 Comments

Having an interest in something means liking it. I have a lot of interests. Soccer is an interest of mine. I am good at soccer, but it remains an interest. It is something that I like, but I am not committed to become an MLS player. That’s no fault of my own because I know I am just interested in soccer.

Being committed is something different. When you are committed, you’re in it to win it. If you kind of want it, you aren’t committed. You have to want to achieve it and do everything you can to achieve it. I am committed to this blog, and it shows because this blog consistently gets updated and grows exponentially.

I am committed to Twitter. I am interested in Instagram. You need to be honest with yourself as you identify the things that you are interested in as well as the things that you are committed to. Where is most of your time being spent? Those are most likely the things you are committing yourself to. Anything that gets shoved to the back of your mind and reawakens every once in a while is an interest.

Interests can become commitments, commitments can go back to interests, some commitments may really be interests, and some interests can really be commitments. By identifying what your commitments, you will also be able to identify your priorities. By identifying your priorities, you will be able to get more of the important things accomplished.

How To Nourish Your Expertise

December 6, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

I have been looking at a lot of articles about how to become a bestselling author. One of the tips was to read a lot of books, poems, essays, and other forms of writing. At the time, I decided that this would be a great way to become a bestselling author because writing would come very natural.

However, this also applies to your expertise. There is no limit to how much of an expert an individual can become at their niche. If you read the books about your expertise, listen to speeches done by the experts of your niche, look at the marketing tactics, and do a lot of other things, you will be able to nourish your expertise.

By nourishing your expertise, your will obtain a giant mass of knowledge you never had. A little bit of extra knowledge can be helpful. When you get a lot of bits of knowledge, you can do something extraordinary that has a dramatic impact on your niche.

Why Sapping The Competition Is A No-No

December 5, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

The best way to become a successful business is by being different from the competition and being remarkable. I have said this many times, and there are others who say the same thing. However, there are some people who decide that sapping competitors of their power is the best approach.

These people try to steal competitors’ clients, create identical products with small tweaks, and ultimately collapse. Once a client has found someone, it isn’t easy to shake that foundation. It may take weeks or even a month before successfully converting a single client. Then there’s numerous other clients to be converted as well. Converting all of those clients is too much work.

Instead of converting your competitors’ clients, focus on the clients that you already have. 80% of your revenue is going to come from 20% of your clients. When you have clients already, you don’t have to keep on searching for success. The success you are looking for lies in your top clients. Your top clients will tell their friends about you through word of mouth, and as a result, you will get more clients.

Your top clients are your recipe of success. These top clients‘ biggest needs can result in products that satisfy those needs. By satisfying the needs of your top clients, you will be able to satisfy the needs of other people as well.

Don’t try to be like the competition. Don’t even try to sap the competitors of their strength. The clients that you already have will allow your business to go places beyond expectation. You already have everything you need to become successful and reach the stars.
