how to become successful

It’s So Much Easier

August 24, 2014 by Marc Guberti 4 Comments

Easy

To watch than do.

To work for someone else than work for yourself.

To walk than run.

To quit than continue.

To continue doing the wrong things than quit.

To settle than thrive.

To get discouraged than feel optimistic.

To take than to give.

To live in despair than in happiness.

To want more than to be grateful for what you already have.

Just because something is easier does not necessarily mean it is better. We are constantly searching for the shortcuts to avoid putting in more time and effort. Taking shortcuts results in the final result not being as good as it could have been.

Why Having Good Fitness Helps Out In The Journey Towards Success

July 8, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Health And Fitness

I believe that fitness is one of the most underrated parts of success. Does this mean walking in to the job interview with a six-pack is going to guarantee you the job? Absolutely not (why apply for a job anyway)! Looking more muscular in your YouTube videos does not mean those videos are going to get more views.

So how exactly does having good fitness help out in the journey towards success? Being in shape has been proven to make people happier (happiness certainly helps out towards success and life), but good fitness also encourages the development of the winner’s mindset.

People with good fitness want to become more fit. They don’t settle with the strong abs. They also want strong legs, arms, shoulders, and every other body part to be strong as well. Some people do 20 curls and realize that they can do five more. They don’t stop at an assigned number if they believe they can do more than that. This is the entire concept of raising the bar higher. When the 20 pound weights get too light, these people move on to the 30 pound weights. It’s a bigger challenge, but it also leads to better results over time.

Getting in shape may be the trigger that allows you to thrive and change your attitude about life. Whether you decide to keep up the fitness by lifting weights or running, you need to do some kind of workout every day so you become committed and develop the winner’s mindset.

Why The First Time Is Really The Hardest

June 26, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Big Challenge

A lot of people say that the first time is the hardest. It is used in speeches, books, and other places as well. While many people say that the first time is the hardest, few people go into why the first time is really the hardest. In this article, I am going to go into the why part about the first time being the hardest.

In 3 years, 2 months, and 1 day after Twitter was created the social media world went crazy. Twitter’s 1 billionth tweet was sent out. Out of all of the times Twitter sent out 1 billion tweets, the first billion tweets took the most time. Now, Twitter users send out a combined total of 1 billion tweets every 5 days. That’s a lot quicker than 3 years, 2 months, and 1 day.

Neil Patel wrote a brilliant blog post about getting 100,000 monthly visitors for a blog. In that blog post, he also mentioned how long it took for each of his blogs to get over 100,000 monthly visitors. QuickSprout took 4 years and 9 months, KISSmetrics took 1 year and 10 months, and Crazy Egg took 1 year and 6 months to reach 100,000 monthly visitors. The first blog took the longest amount of time to reach 100,000 monthly visitors because the first time is always the hardest. It becomes obvious that as Neil Patel creates more blogs, he is able to reach the same milestone faster.

The first time is the hardest because we do not know everything about the process. It is hard to get the first 1,000 followers because it takes a long time to learn about different methods to reach the goal. What used to take me a few months to do now gets done in 2-3 days. By staying dedicated and going through the journey, you will learn more about your niche. You will learn how to do certain tasks with fewer steps that allow you to save more time. Doing anything for the first time is the hardest. It takes a lot of practice and time to do something the first time. Then, it gradually becomes easier over time as you get more comfortable doing something that at one point seemed very difficult.

What are your thoughts about the first time really being the hardest? Do you have any stories of your own about the first time being the hardest? Please share your thoughts below.

You Probably Don’t Know What Traf-O-Data Or Virgin Vodka Were

May 30, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Traf-O-Data was a business with an objective of reading raw data from roadway traffic counters and create reports for traffic engineers. The company had modest success but quickly fell apart. This is one of the countless examples of a company falling apart, but the rest of the story is about perseverance.

One of the people who founded Traf-O-Data and watched it collapsed was some guy named Bill Gates. Even one of the richest men in the world had a business that fell apart. Bill Gates learned from Traf-O-Data’s collapse and created Microsoft.

That’s one story of an entrepreneur going from one collapsed business to creating something remarkable. There are many entrepreneurs who have gone from collapsed businesses to successful enterprises. One of those people was Richard Branson.

When you think of Richard Branson, you probably think of Virgin Airlines and Virgin Records. Chances are you do not affiliate Richard Branson with Virgin Coke or Virgin Vodka. Virgin Coke and Virgin Vodka are two of Branson’s businesses that quickly failed. After learning from his mistakes, Branson was able to start Virgin Airlines and become a billionaire.

The list goes on and on for entrepreneurs who first failed and then became very successful. Henry Ford’s first two car companies failed and left him broke. Mark Cuban was a carpenter and waiter among other things before becoming a billionaire. When looking at successful figures, we often forget that there was a point when these people were not successful. There was a point when all of the billionaires were struggling to make a living. The reason you didn’t know what Traf-O-Data or Virgin Vodka were is because few people accept the fact that billionaires were once regular people who just wanted to make it in the real world.

Maybe you may be in what seems to be a hopeless situation. Being broke after creating two businesses that failed, selling vodka, floundering amongst low paying jobs, and watching a business that was successful completely fall apart also seem like hopeless situations. Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Henry Ford, and Mark Cuban were in those hopeless situations.

How The “My Life Isn’t Good Enough” Mindset Works

May 29, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Mindset

In one of Tony Robbins’ videos, he discussed how the “My Life Isn’t Good Enough” mindset can set you up for success. It was an interesting video where he interviewed Frank Kern and John Reese about success. One of the parts of the formula got referred to as the “My Life Isn’t Good Enough” mindset.

Most people who think in this mindset know they have been dealt with an unfair hand, and they use that unfairness as an excuse. The people who constantly make excuses will not get themselves out of the “My Life Isn’t Good Enough” mindset. While most people see this mindset as a way to crush dreams and settle with being unfulfilled, there is another way to take advantage of this mindset.

There are many people who have used this mindset to become very successful. The people who used this mindset to become successful realized their lives were not good enough, but took action to make their lives better. That’s why you hear about the stories of people going from $100k in debt to making over $1 million in 1 night. That’s why certain people get to become professional athletes.

This mindset is the creating or breaking point of your success. If you use this mindset to limit yourself, you will remain limited. However, if you use this mindset to realize you need better results and be inspired to take action, then this mindset will allow you to become very successful.

Why Knowing Your Target Audience Is Super Important

May 10, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Many people make the mistake as defining their target audience as anyone who is on Planet Earth or in outer space. By making their audience too big, these people are not able to zone in on their targeted audience–the people who care about and appreciate what these people do. Your targeted audience consists of the people who will buy your products, read your blog posts, and eventually become returning customers.

By knowing your target audience, you will be able to tap into the audience that cares the most about what you provide. People who care a lot about home and gardening products will not care as much about a blog about hotel marketing. Knowing your targeted audience allows you to create lists of people to interact with, build connections with, and turn into customers.

Since a targeted audience cares about what you do, they are more likely to tell their friends about you. As your blog and products spread through word of mouth, you will get more visitors and sales. Knowing your target audience is the starting point towards creating a strategy. Creating a strategy and then implementing that strategy is the starting point towards success.

Knowing your targeted audience will allow you to interact with the right people and make the right connections. The most successful social media power users are the ones who have built strong presences on various social networks with targeted followers. If you have not identified your targeted audience, then you need to do that right now. If you have already identified your targeted audience, then you are one step closer towards becoming very successful.
