5 Powerful Factors That Go Into Getting More Conversations With Your Followers On Twitter

January 23, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Having conversations on Twitter will allow you to build connections with your followers. However, the process of having conversations with your followers is a challenging process. There are a lot of factors that go into how many conversations you have with your followers. These are the 5 powerful factors that play a role into determining how many conversations you have on Twitter.

  1. Are your followers your target audience? I would rather have 10,000 targeted followers than have 100,000 un-targeted followers. Targeted followers are the ones who enjoy the type of content that you tweet about. When you tweet a good blog post, people will reply to that tweet.
  2. How quickly you respond. If someone mentions you or replies to one of your tweets, the length of the conversation depends on how quickly you respond. If you respond seconds later (although that rarely happens for any of us), the conversation will keep on going. If you respond within a day, you will still be able to keep the conversation going. The conversation is less likely to continue if you don’t respond to the tweet for days.
  3. How actively you are talking to your followers. When people go down your timeline, and they see that you are actively talking with your followers, some of those people will decide to mention you and start a conversation. When they start the conversation, respond as soon as possible.
  4. How big your audience is. The bigger your audience, the more conversations you are going to have. These are some ways to make that audience larger.
  5. How many conversations you have with people who are not following you yet. When you have a conversation with someone who is not following you yet, and the conversation progresses, that person will probably follow you. When that person follows you, you can rest assured that you will have more conversations with that person.

Having long conversations on Twitter does not have to be a challenge. By utilizing these 5 powerful factors well, you will have more conversations with your followers that last and eventually turn them into loyal customers.

How To Turn Twitter Followers Into Loyal Customers

January 10, 2014 by Marc Guberti 4 Comments

loyalty

In order to get your followers to buy your products, you need to talk with them on, but also off of Twitter. You will not be able to apply this method with all of your followers, but iff you can apply this method to 100 people, you already have an edge on the competition.

There are buyers. Then there are guaranteed buyers. The guaranteed buyers are the loyal ones who buy all of your products based on a certain niche. The guaranteed buyers are going to be the Twitter followers who you build strong friendships with.

Here’s how to do that:

  1. Decide who you want as loyal customers. These people should be the ones who have a strong interest in your niche. Anyone with a big following is a nice bonus.
  2. Get the person to notice you. Share the person’s blog posts while mentioning them with the @ sign. When you do that, the person you mention gets an email telling them that you mentioned them, and when they look through their feed of mentions, they will find you.
  3. Respond quickly. The person will thank you for mentioning them and their blog. Quickly respond by telling the person that their blog post motivated/helped you with something. Continue to quickly respond, and you will have a long conversation with this person.
  4. Talk with the person off Twitter. As you continue to talk with the person on Twitter, eventually ask to exchange emails. When you exchange emails, you will be able to contact the person with over 140 characters, but having the extra characters is not the important part. Since the person just gave you his/her email, that person trusts you now.
  5. Have a call to action in your email signature telling them to subscribe to your blog. This call to action will allow you to get another subscriber. Even when the person subscribes to your blog, continue to contact and talk with that person. By continuously talking with this person, that person will eventually become a guaranteed buyer.
  6. Repeat the process for other people. The more guaranteed buyers you have, the more money you are going to make. An author only needs about 1,000 guaranteed buyers in order to hit the Top 100 in Kindle Sales.

This will take a lot of time. In order to get the best results from this tactic, you should apply this method to 10 people every week. Imagine how different your business would be if you had 100 guaranteed buyers, or over 1,000 guaranteed buyers.

  5. Use HootSuite to schedule your tweets. This will allow you to tweet consistently throughout the entire day. In addition, you should tweet every hour so more of your followers can see your tweets.
  6. Embed tweets on your blog. By embedding tweets on your blog, people will be able to follow you, retweet your tweet, or favorite your tweet with the click of a button. In addition, you should only embed your best tweets. Here’s how to embed tweets on your blog.

One Reason To Search Through Your DM Inbox on Twitter

November 26, 2013 by Marc Guberti 4 Comments

Most of direct messages from Twitter users are spam. It seems as if every DM is an automated tweet. This has resulted in less people reading the DMs they got. There is also the option to automatically mark all of the DMs you get on Twitter as read which reduces the amount of times people read the DMs they got. One day, I decided to go through all of the DMs people sent me.

Just as I expected, most of the DMs were spam. However, there were some DMs that were not spam. Some of the people who sent me DMs were asking me questions. Luckily for me, those DMs were sent out recently. I was able to answer questions and get replies.

The reason you should look through the DMs in your inbox is because you never know what any of the DMs are going to say. Some of the DMs are questions from your followers while others will be opportunities for your business to grow.

Reading through the DMs you got on Twitter may only take up a few minutes of your day. One of those DMs could be a game changer for your business that dramatically increases your visibility.

How To Build Connections With The Right People On Twitter

November 8, 2013 by Marc Guberti 13 Comments

There is that person we want to contact. That person may be a social media expert, an author, a sports analyst, or someone else. Before you use the methods I am going to share, it’s important to find the right people to build the connections with. If you don’t like music, trying to build a connection with someone who likes music isn’t going to work. Finding the right people to connect with is a starting point.

When you find the right people to connect with, check their past tweets and see if they have had any conversations. The more conversations someone has on Twitter, the more likely they are to respond to one of your tweets. If someone doesn’t respond too often, you should still try to make the connection if you want to, but you’re not as likely to get a response.

The next way to build the connection is by tweeting something that will continue the conversation. Saying “@ThePerson, I am your biggest fan!!!” or “@ThePerson, thanks for following me!” might get a thank you in return. Those kind of conversations aren’t going to continue for a long period of time.

A good way to get someone to notice you is by praising their work. When you recommend one of their products, don’t say, “Product By The Person.” Instead of that, say, “Product By @ThePerson.” @ThePerson will respond, and then you ask them a question to continue the conversation. Here are some examples of good questions:

1. What gave you the inspiration to do what you do?

2. Would you like to be interviewed for my blog?

3. What advice would you give to a beginner?

4. When are you coming out with a new product? I’ll be the first person to buy it.

5. What would you recommend? (books, movies, blogs, etc but only pick one to ask @ThePerson)

Who are you trying to build connections with on Twitter? You can use the Q&A Part of this blog or leave a comment so I can help out (but only if you want the help). I will also respond to your tweets.
