There Is Always Room For Better Results

We all strive to get better results. When some people get a better result, the joy of getting those results slowly fade away until we want even better results. This is good because it encourages progress and raises the bar higher.

However, some people get too happy with their results. The worst thing that can happen is settling with the results we just got. Getting 1,000 followers is an accomplishment, but settling with 1,000 followers hinders potential growth. There is no limit to how much you and your business can grow.

Many people see reaching a certain result as the end point. However, the results that we desire to reach are not limitations. They are launching pads for further growth.

It’s Not About Making Ideas

It’s about making ideas happen. Thinking about the idea is easy. Making the idea happen is the hard part. Your idea can be a multimillion dollar business, but you only get the multimillion dollar business by putting in the work and effort required.

Thinking about a successful idea does not guarantee success. Implementing the idea, and making that idea grow will allow you to become successful.

Once you come up with the idea, make it happen!

Do The Work Right From The Start To Accomplish Goals Within Their Deadlines

When we give ourselves a deadline, many people make the mistake of doing the work as the deadline approaches. Some authors give themselves a month to write a book they were supposed to write within a year. As the deadline approaches, we put in more work than we have ever put in before.

Instead of living the crunch time lifestyle as the deadline approaches, why not do the work in the beginning. I was recently listening to one of Seth Godin’s lectures, and he explained what happens when people work in the beginning and when people start working as the deadline gets dangerously close.

The people who work in the beginning are able to get their goals accomplished before the deadline. Working in the beginning and finishing before the deadline will give you the overdelivering effect which is always good to have.

The people who start working towards the deadline create an overwhelming schedule that is virtually impossible to implement unless sacrifices are made for that period of time. Some bloggers who try to write a book sacrifice updating their blog to add content to their books as the deadline approaches.

Working in the beginning will save you a lot of time and stress. Starting to work towards the end will result in deadlines that are not reached. The reason most people do not get their New Year’s resolutions accomplished is because they start working to accomplish their resolutions with 6 weeks to go before the New Year.

There are two choices that you have. You can either start early or rush in a desperate attempt to get some goals accomplished as the deadlines approach. Your best bet is to start early so you aren’t cramming everything in later.

How To Write A Persuasive Blog Post

When you come out with a new product or want sales for an old product, you would want to write a persuasive blog post that encourages people to buy your product. Writing a blog post that describes your product with a Buy Now button at the bottom is not a persuasive blog post, and most of those kinds of blog posts rarely work for your own products.

If you master writing persuasive blog posts, most of your readers will be enticed to buy your product. The first thing you would want to do is tell people your story of creating your product. How did you come up with the idea? How many months of hard work did it take to create your product? How many hours straight did you work on your product? At the end of that paragraph, say, “After several hours, weeks, and months combined, I have finally created my product [name of product].”

After you tell people the name of your product, tell people why your product is special and is not like the others. The mistake many people make is rushing straight to what the product includes. That is the wrong approach. You first need to identify the problems people in your niche face. Then, you need to tell people in your next paragraphs how your product solves the problem. Throwing in a week long discount for the first week is also very helpful.

The persuasive blog post is not another way to say “Buy Me Product.” The persuasive blog post is a way to give people a strong reason why they would want to buy your product. Your sales page will do the job of listing all of the features of your product. Your blog post is just a way to give people a good idea of what your product is, the story behind it, and how this product can solve problems your potential customers face.

We All Have Big Egos (And There’s No Denying It)

Whether you think you have a big ego or not, you have one. While some people go over the top, we all have a big ego. Who wouldn’t love to tell other people about their accomplishments? If you are not that kind of person, wouldn’t you love it when someone else told their friends about all of the cool things you do?

The truth is that we love it when that happens. Talking about ourselves triggers the same parts of the brain when we think of food and money. I did not just write this blog post to say that we all have big egos. Instead, there are benefits that we need to know about in order to use someone else’s big ego to our effect.

If you want to make a new friend, have a good date, get a new business partner, or make a strong connection, the easiest thing to do is sit back for a while and let that person talk about himself/herself. Let that person talk about all of the accomplishments, successes, and products they have. When the conversation is over, that person will feel incredible about himself/herself. Then, that person will respect you because you made that person feel great.

We all have big egos which means you and the person you talk to. By tapping into the other person’s ego, you will hear all of their successes, and they will love you for it.

The Day I Forgot To Schedule Tweets

I will never forget the day that I forgot to schedule tweets. It started out as a typical day. Before going to school, I always check my statistics. I look at how many Twitter followers I gain, how many eBook sales I make, and my blog’s statistics as well. I happened to notice on one day that my blog only got 50 views at 7:30 am.

Since my blog tends to have more than 100 views at this time, I looked through my statistics to see if I could identify the problem. The problem was that I was not getting nearly as many visitors from Twitter as I normally got. I decided to look at my tweets thinking that I somehow forgot the link to my blog posts in those tweets or something along those lines. However, I quickly realized that I had not scheduled any tweets for the day. For the first time in several months (or maybe even a year), I had no scheduled tweets on HootSuite.

Here come the lessons. The first thing I took advantage of was HootSuite Pro. As a member, I knew the ropes well enough to schedule 24 tweets in 1 minute. Although I could not schedule any tweets in the morning, I had all of my tweets lined up from the afternoon and on.

This experience allowed me to deeply understand how important Twitter, and social media in general, is for my strategy. On that day, my blog got over 350 views because Twitter was able to kick in and save the day. However, I was able to get an idea of what traffic would look like without my social networks. Search engine traffic also contributed towards my blog’s increase in traffic, but the reason I get a lot of traffic from search engines is because of my social networks in the first place.

The big lesson is to never forget about your social networks. Although there may be some days when you do not feel like scheduling tweets or putting that pin up on Pinterest, continuing to use social networks will ultimately grow your presence in a big and powerful way. I was putting in the same amount of hours on Twitter back when I had 2,000 followers (also because I needed more time to learn and utilize cool tools) as I do now (now I gain more than 2,000 followers every 4 days).

Never forget your social networks. They have the power to put you on the map and get people to talk about you.
