5 Ways To Increase The Amount Of Time Visitors Spend On Your Blog

January 5, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Millions of people are competing for attention on the web. In fact, there are over 100,000 blogs being created every day. The need for attention is obvious, but getting and keeping attention is not easy. In order to get and keep attention, you need visitors who are going to stick around. Here are 5 ways to increase the amount of time your visitors spend on your blog:

  1. Add links to your older blog posts in your newer blog posts. This will give your visitors the ability to look at more of your blog post. Adding links to your older blog posts will also reduce your blog’s bounce rate. Here are some examples of this in action.
  2. Write quality content. Once you get someone to your blog, quality content will be the deciding factor of whether or not the visitor stays on your blog for an extended period of time.
  3. Get your visitors to subscribe to your blog. A subscribed visitor is one who will constantly come back to your blog. After reading your blog enough times, the subscriber may decide to look at pages of your blog posts.
  4. Have a menu with good options. Your blog’s menu needs to have a contact, about me, and other options as well. The more options you give a visitor, the longer they will stay on your blog.
  5. Show them your best. If you don’t have this on your blog already, you need the widget that shows your most popular blog posts. Many times, a blog’s most popular blog posts also happen to be the best posts on that blog. If someone sees your best, they will be inclined to stay on your blog.

By increasing the amount of time your visitors stay on your blog, your visitors will be able to know more about you. Your visitors may look at your products, contact you with a question, or buy one of your products. The longer you get your visitors to stay on your blog, the better your results will be.

Three Powerful Books That Will Transform Your Business

January 4, 2014 by Marc Guberti 1 Comment

stack of books

There are a lot of business books out there that are about a variety of things. Some business books deal with staying on top of the competition, the science that goes into business, tips for a niche, and so on. Out of all of the books I have read, these three books really stood out, and if you really want to kickstart the New Year, I recommend getting these books:

  1. Purple Cow: Seth Godin reveals how numerous businesses were able to go from normal to remarkable. Safe is no longer safe. In order to be noticed, you have to be risky. Purple Cow has received praise from numerous marketers, and over 200,000 copies have been sold
  2. The Pumpkin Plan: This plan will show you how to turn any business into a successful one. Mike Michalowicz used this plan to create three powerful businesses, and one of them was sold to a Fortune 500 Business. The Pumpkin Plan is all about getting more clients, treating them right, and watching the results come in.
  3. The 12 Week Year: This book will allow you to be more productive than your competitors. The 12 Week Year is a solid plan that will bring a sense of urgency in everything that you do. A year is no longer 12 months. It’s only 12 weeks.

What Do You Want To Be Remembered For?

January 4, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

remember stone

None of us are immortal, and people will have to remember us for certain things. Some people are remembered in a better way than others. How do you want to be remembered? Do you want to be remembered as an expert of your niche? Do you want to be remembered as a stand up guy?

In order to be remembered the way you want to be remembered, you need to take steps of action in order to be remembered that way. If you want to be remembered as a stand up guy, you need to act like and be a stand up guy. If you want to be remembered as an expert of your niche, you need to act like and be an expert of your niche.

There is no right answer to what you want to be remembered for. You can be remembered for being a stand up guy, an expert of your niche, both of those things, or something else. You are the only person who has the power to decide what other people will remember you for.

What do you want to be remembered for?

3 Ways To Keep The Social In Social Media

January 3, 2014 by Marc Guberti 4 Comments

Social media is a powerful tool to build awareness for a blog, product, or service. However, when most people use social media, they only think of the media aspect: reaching out to more people and getting the benefits. More and more people are forgetting to be social on social media.

Being social on social media can be the difference between followers who know who you are and followers who scroll down your Twitter timeline for minutes. Being social on social media can bring forth friendships, clients, and sales. In order to stay social on the big social networking platforms we use today, you need to know these three things:

  1. See who is mentioning you. Some of the people who are mentioning you could be asking you a question or thanking you for your good work. Search for your name in the search box in order to see who is mentioning you.
  2. Respond to those people. Whether your response is a thank you or an answer to a question, you need to respond to those people. By responding to your followers, you will show them that you care about them.
  3. Check at least three times every day. You never know when someone will mention you, reply to one of your tweets, or respond to your response. By responding quickly, people will still be a part of the conversation which will allow the conversation to last for a longer period of time. This will allow you to bond with more of your followers.

Social media is referred to as a tool to increase traffic. However, we must also use social media for its purpose which is socializing.

How I Went From Gaining 10 Pinterest Followers A Day To Gaining 100 Pinterest Followers A Day

January 3, 2014 by Marc Guberti 7 Comments

Get More Pinterest Followers

Since Pinterest is the newest social network, the rules of success are not as established. The rules of success for Twitter and Facebook are common to find on blogs and books. There are not as many established rules for achieving success on Pinterest.

One of the rules to succeed on Twitter is to follow people who are interested in your niche and likely to follow back. I used this method on Twitter and got a dramatic increase in followers. While my Twitter account was growing, my Pinterest account was only averaging 10 followers a day.

I was implementing and testing a lot of methods on Pinterest, but I was still gaining 10 followers a day. While this was happening, my Twitter account didn’t miss a beat. I saw that consistently following people interested in my niche was working on Twitter. The methods I was using on Pinterest were not changing the rate I gained followers, so I decided to follow people interested in my niche on Pinterest.

The results were incredible. I was stuck at around 2,300 followers when I started implementing this tactic. I followed over a thousand people on Pinterest, and I ended up getting 100 new followers that day. On the next day, I gained another 100 followers. I no longer have to follow more than a thousand people in order to gain 100 followers. However, implementing a tactic that I use on Twitter for my Pinterest account allowed me to dramatically increase my following.

Following others is important on Pinterest. You may be the next person to go from gaining 10 followers a day to gaining 100 followers a day.

Why You Need Links To Your Older Blog Posts In Your New Blog Posts

January 2, 2014 by Marc Guberti 5 Comments

The older a blog post gets, the less times it gets visited. As new blog posts push older blog posts to the second, third, fourth, and other pages of your blog, they start to lose attention. That lost attention can also result in a decrease in traffic. However, if you constantly make your old blog posts new, you will be able to increase your traffic to those old blog posts.

When people click on a link to one of your older blog posts, it decreases your bounce rate percentage. Decreasing your blog’s bounce rate is a little known way to boost your SEO. In addition, your visitors will see more of your content. The more someone sees your content, the more likely they are to remember who you are. If someone likes your new blog post and your older blog post, they may search around your blog for a while.

Adding links to your older blog posts in your newer blog posts is the ultimate way to get people to stay on your blog for an extended period of time. Right when someone finishes reading your newest blog post, they can click a link to an older blog post. If your older blog posts have links to your other blog posts, you will be able to increase the amount of time someone stays on your blog.

If you include links in your new blog posts to your older blog posts, you will be able to keep people on your blog for a longer period of time and decrease your blog’s bounce back rate. By implementing this tactic, you will increase your traffic and SEO.
