E137: Documenting & Delegating Your Business Processes With Chris Ronzio

April 16, 2018 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

I'm happy to see you around. You may want to subscribe to my blog. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome back! I am so happy to see that you have come back for more.

Chris Ronzio built a nationwide video production company that sold over $3 million in youth sporting event videos before he was 25 years old. In 2013, he sold that business and founded an Operations Consulting firm that helps other entrepreneurs create scalable systems and processes. Over the last 5 years, that firm, Organize Chaos, has worked with hundreds of companies in dozens of industries and invested in building 6 of those businesses to over $30 million in annual revenue.

His third business, Trainual, is a platform for entrepreneurs wanting to get their business out of their brain by documenting and delegating the processes in their company.

Quotes To Remember:

“If you can’t delegate, you can’t grow.”

“As long as you’ve figured something out, and you’re doing it repeatedly, then, the next step in growing is just to hand that off to someone else.”

“Every business should have the systems within it that it could be franchised.”

“Entrepreneurs need to not only learn to weather those storms but to enjoy the turbulence.”

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why You Should Delegate Tasks
  • Tips on Delegating Tasks to the Right People
  • Keeping Track of Processes
  • Determine How Much Each Hour Cost

How To Not Get Stressed Out By Your Content Brand

April 16, 2018 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

If you own a content brand, no matter how big or small, you have a lot of responsibilities. You have to create content, ensure it’s all scheduled to go out when it should, promote that content, and figure out how to make money. It seems simple when described in those terms, but a microscopic view of any of those components can cause many content creators to get stressed by all of the work.

Doing great work isn’t the problem. The problem is doing everything that needs to get done and making sure everything runs smoothly for your audience. As you expand, it becomes more difficult to manage everything and pursue new opportunities.

I found myself in this situation as I contemplated uploading daily videos to YouTube. This is something I will do in the near future, but then I thought about everything else I’m doing.

I’m interviewing epic guests for Breakthrough Success and writing these blog posts. I also have to build relationships, grow my email list, engage with my email list, and a bunch of other things.

It’s a lot…and it’s possible to get stressed out by all of this.

But stress isn’t the answer. Stress usually emerges when we don’t fully know what to do or what is happening around us. If you feel stressed about your content brand or want to avoid stress, follow these tips.

List Everything You Do For Your Content Brand

Most stress arises when we know we have to do a bunch of things but don’t know what those things are. By listing everything you do for your content brand, you get a clear layout that prevents you from stressing about the unknown.

Create Systems & Habits

Once you list everything for your content brand, you can start pursuing some of those tasks. As you put in the work, think of how this can be easier and less time consuming. For my podcast episodes, I created a structure where I don’t need to spend as much time prepping. I’m at the point where I just write a guest’s intro and three new questions other than the questions I ask everyone.

For a blog post, I know to create an outline before I start writing the blog post. For videos, I’ll pick one day of the week to create at least 7 new videos. That’s one of the habits that helps me do all of the necessary work for my content brand. With all of the videos recorded in one day, I can do other things for the other six days of the week.

You need to create systems & habits that allow you to move from task to task as quickly as possible. The more you can get done, and the better you track what you’re doing, the less stressed you will feel.

Delegate

No matter how productive you are, you can’t do everything by yourself. I have delegated several tasks across my content brand and only plan on adding to that number. Without my assistants, Breakthrough Success would have never launched. I don’t write the show notes or edit the episodes. I simply find guests, conduct the interviews, and schedule the episodes.

Everything else for the podcast is done by my team.

I recently opened the doors to guest bloggers and am on the path to delegating some of the pieces I write. That way, even though I’m not spending as much time creating content for my blog, you’ll still get a lot of content from me.

Delegation is hard in the beginning because you’ll feel like you can and should do everything by yourself. Just modify your work ethic and change your hours, and you’ll get everything done.

However, you’ll miss out on a ton of great opportunities because your time will be limited. If I were to ask all of the millionaire content creators if they have teams behind their work, I’m sure 99% of them would say yes.

If you want to find the best assistants at the lowest cost, I strongly recommend onlinejobs.ph. I have found a lot of great assistants using this resource.

For content creation you can’t delegate (i.e. hosting your podcast or doing face videos), you can still delegate some of the parts. You can delegate editing, scheduling, distribution, and more.

Creating the systems and habits will help you get the same things done more effectively and in a shorter period of time. Delegating allows you to remove those tasks from your life so you can pursue your priorities.

Schedule Your Tasks On Your Calendar

Even when you’ve identified what you need to do, created systems & habits, and have assistants helping you, stress can still emerge.

This type of stress usually comes because you know exactly what you need to do, but you don’t know when you’re going to start each task.

If you face this type of stress, the quick remedy is to schedule your day the night before. Each night, I identify the tasks I must accomplish the following day and organize them on iCalendar. Here’s an example of one of my schedules.

Scheduling your day in advance will give you clarity on what you need to do and when. With that level of insight, putting in the work for your content brand won’t be so stressful.

In Conclusion

I find great joy in providing you with valuable content through my blog, podcast, and YouTube channel. The challenge for me, just like any content creator, is to create all of this content and properly distribute it so more people see it.

That challenge is worth pursuing for the growth of your content brand and the people who have come to value your content and respect you and your content brand.

How To Grow Your Podcast With Instagram

April 13, 2018 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Podcasts are content creation, marketing, and self-education all wrapped into one. As you land more guests on your show, you’ll attract more listeners and a stream of guests requesting to get interviewed on your show.

It’s powerful when you interview multiple people each week who promote their episode when it goes live. While it’s great to tap into other people’s audiences to expand your podcast, you also need to look towards your audience.

When you think about promoting new content to your audience, you should immediately think of your email list. That’s your most important asset.

However, a growing but overlooked opportunity for many podcasters is promoting your episodes on Instagram.

Instagram is a social network with highly engaged users. More brands are using Instagram to communicate with their audiences, but there’s also a great opportunity for podcasters. In this blog post, you’ll learn how to grow your podcast with Instagram.

Consistently Publish New Episodes

Before we focus on Instagram, we need to first focus on your podcast. Consistent uploads will make it easier for you to harness Instagram’s full potential with promoting your podcast. You should at the very minimum publish one new episode per week.

If you believe you can publish more than one episode each week, then do it. I currently publish 5 episodes on Breakthrough Success each week, and this gives me more episodes to promote on Instagram.

Promote Each Episode With An IG Pic

When you publish each new episode, tell your Instagram followers about that episodes. You can create a picture featuring the guest, your podcast’s logo, and the title of the episode. It’s better to make the guest’s picture as big as possible (at least half of the picture).

Here is one of the Instagram posts I published to promote a Breakthrough Success episode. I’ll publish something like this for each new episode that comes out.

Hosting webinars is one of the best ways to get clients for your services and customers for your products. I recently got to chat with Corena Bahr who’s been developing and delivering webinars and virtual training over the last 15 years for Fortune 500 companies and for several start-ups. She’s delivered over 1,000 webinars to date. Here’s some of what we covered: –Structuring your webinar for success –Attracting attendees to your webinars –Tips for hosting a successful webinar LINK IN BIO

A post shared by Marc Guberti (@marcguberti) on Apr 6, 2018 at 7:19am PDT

I use Canva to create the pictures I use to promote Breakthrough Success episodes. The great thing about using Canva is that I can copy the image and modify it for each guest. All I do is change the guest’s picture and episode title to reflect each new episode that goes on the podcast.

Snippets & Quotes

Since I publish five episodes each week, I create more content that I can then promote on Instagram than most podcasters. However, if you publish one episode each week, you can promote that episode in multiple ways.

I strongly recommend creating a picture similar to the picture format I use, but for the six day gap between episodes, you can share quotes and snippets from the episode.

You can share a powerful quote from the guest and tell your followers they can listen to that episode. You can also take a small snippet from the episode and publish it on Instagram. You can tell your followers that they can listen to the episode to hear the rest.

If you find three powerful quotes and a snippet, you have four additional opportunities to promote each episode on Instagram. You can even use Throwback Thursday or Flashback Friday to promote past episodes.

Link To iTunes In The Description

One of the initial deterrents for Instagram was that links in a picture’s description are un-clickable. While this is still the case for links you put in the description, there’s a clever way to promote each episode.

In your bio, change your link to match your podcast’s iTunes link. The key to dominate with your podcast is to dominate iTunes. Sure, there are Android users, Stitcher, and other options, but in my research, interviews, and coaching I’ve received, iTunes is the golden road to victory.

With this link in play, you can tell your followers that they can click on the link in your bio to listen to the latest episode. This will be accurate since you’ll promote new episodes as they come out.

Even for a Throwback Thursday or Flashback Friday post, you can tell people the episode number, and they can still find the episode by scrolling. I’d recommend against giving your readers too much to scroll through to access the episode. If you’ve published 100 episodes on your podcast, don’t go back to Episode 7. Scrolling that far down on a smartphone takes too much time.

If you promote Episode 80, that’s not as much to scroll through for anyone interested in listening to that episode.

In Conclusion

Podcasting is an incredible opportunity, and Instagram is an incredible opportunity for attracting more listeners to your podcast. By consistently publishing new episodes on your podcast, you give yourself a greater capability to promote your podcast on Instagram.

It may take some time for you to create the first picture you use. But once you create the first picture, you can tweak that rubric to effortlessly create future pictures for your podcast episodes.
