The Day I Forgot To Schedule Tweets

April 24, 2014 by Marc Guberti 6 Comments

I'm happy to see you around. You may want to subscribe to my blog. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome back! I am so happy to see that you have come back for more.

Loud Tweeting

I will never forget the day that I forgot to schedule tweets. It started out as a typical day. Before going to school, I always check my statistics. I look at how many Twitter followers I gain, how many eBook sales I make, and my blog’s statistics as well. I happened to notice on one day that my blog only got 50 views at 7:30 am.

Since my blog tends to have more than 100 views at this time, I looked through my statistics to see if I could identify the problem. The problem was that I was not getting nearly as many visitors from Twitter as I normally got. I decided to look at my tweets thinking that I somehow forgot the link to my blog posts in those tweets or something along those lines. However, I quickly realized that I had not scheduled any tweets for the day. For the first time in several months (or maybe even a year), I had no scheduled tweets on HootSuite.

Here come the lessons. The first thing I took advantage of was HootSuite Pro. As a member, I knew the ropes well enough to schedule 24 tweets in 1 minute. Although I could not schedule any tweets in the morning, I had all of my tweets lined up from the afternoon and on.

This experience allowed me to deeply understand how important Twitter, and social media in general, is for my strategy. On that day, my blog got over 350 views because Twitter was able to kick in and save the day. However, I was able to get an idea of what traffic would look like without my social networks. Search engine traffic also contributed towards my blog’s increase in traffic, but the reason I get a lot of traffic from search engines is because of my social networks in the first place.

The big lesson is to never forget about your social networks. Although there may be some days when you do not feel like scheduling tweets or putting that pin up on Pinterest, continuing to use social networks will ultimately grow your presence in a big and powerful way. I was putting in the same amount of hours on Twitter back when I had 2,000 followers (also because I needed more time to learn and utilize cool tools) as I do now (now I gain more than 2,000 followers every 4 days).

Never forget your social networks. They have the power to put you on the map and get people to talk about you.

April 24, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Words eBook Cover

While writing an upcoming book, Lead The Stampede, I noticed that I had not published a single eBook since last year. I wanted to go into the second quarter of the year strong, and I knew that publishing a new eBook would be a great start.

The result is called:

How To Publish More eBooks Faster: Tactics To Write 7,000 Words Every Day

It will be free through Amazon’s KDP Select program for the next five days.

Starting today (April 24th) to the end of Monday (April 28th), you can grab a free copy directly from Amazon.

Read on to learn more about this freebie.

How To Publish More eBooks Faster

If you are a self-published Kindle author, then you know how important it is to publish as many quality eBooks as possible. By publishing a lot of quality eBooks, you will get more returning customers, and the sales for your older eBooks will increase as well.

The problem many Kindle authors face is the ability to publish 1 quality eBook every 3-4 weeks.

With my eBook, How To Publish More eBooks Faster, I detail the best methods that will allow you to publish 1 eBook every 3-4 weeks. I go into detail on multiple case studies that show it is possible to write 7,000 words every day for your eBooks. Not only will I tell what works for me, but I will also provide simple methods that you can use to publish your next Kindle eBook faster.

Here are some of the topics that get covered:

  • How to become a better writer
  • How to find the time to write 7,000 words every day
  • How to eventually write more than 7,000 words every day
  • How successful self-published authors are able to publish 1 eBook every 3-4 weeks
  • How authors can split their time among blogs, social networks, and eBooks

In order to boost your sales, you need to publish more eBooks so you can get more customers. By publishing one eBook every 3-4 weeks, you will get many customers. So grab your free copy while it’s still available.

It’s Free, But I Need Your Help

Once again, I am offering free copies of my eBook from now until midnight on the 28th (Eastern Time). So grab your copy while it’s still available.

But, I do need your help! If you find this eBook to be useful, then I would love getting a review on Amazon.

Don’t Own A Kindle Reader?

There are some people who have had trouble accessing my eBooks because they do not have Kindle Readers. However, you do not need a Kindle to read Kindle eBooks. There are a variety of free ways that you can read a Kindle eBook without having a Kindle.

  • Read it on your PC or Mac with the Kindle Cloud Reader.
  • Read it on your iPhone or iPad with the Kindle app on iTunes.
  • Read it on your Android with the Kindle app in the Android store.
  • Read it on your Blackberry with the Kindle app in the Blackberry store.

To sum it up, you can read Kindle eBooks no matter what device you use to access the internet. Amazon makes it simple for people to read Kindle eBooks whether they have a Mac, Android, or other device.

Anyway…

Here is the download link to my free eBook:

Great, Honest, And Thoughtful Content Wins

April 23, 2014 by Marc Guberti 1 Comment

This seems obvious. However, we all need to be reminded.

There are shortcuts to writing. Sacrificing quality writing means a blog post takes less time to write. However, that kind of content never wins.

We are all focused on writing quality content, but that is not the only kind of content that wins. People are not going to like something just because it has quality. It needs to be something that is great, honest, and thoughtful.

Show your readers that you took the time to write a brilliant blog post. It is easy to stop at the first sentence. It is easy to overlook your writing and forget to fix the spelling mistake. It is easy to write a 5 paragraph blog post and then leaving out the last tip.

If you want to be an elite blogger, your content needs to be great, honest, and thoughtful.

5 Ways To Get More eBook Sales

April 23, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

eBooks and Books

Many authors who publish their eBooks have dreams of being able to get hundreds (or even thousands) of sales every day. However, the problem new authors face is putting in a lot of work and not making many sales. Some authors’ eBooks do not make a single sale until several months after the eBook gets published. However, it is possible to get more eBook sales. Not only is it possible, but it is also not as challenging as people think to get more eBook sales. These are some of the ways to get more eBook sales:

  1. Write eBooks frequently. Some authors publish 1 eBook every month. By publishing at this frequency, customers are easily able to become returning customers. However, as you increase your frequency, you need to be sure that you are not throwing away quality. If you do not publish 1 eBook every month, you do need to make sure that you are publishing multiple eBooks every year.
  2. Get more reviews. Contact the people who you know bought your book and ask them if they would like to write a review. If you ask a customer this way, the customer is more likely to say yes. Include your social networks in your book so you can have conversations with your customers. In addition, you can ask for a review at the end of your book. Say something like, “After you read this book, I would greatly appreciate it if you wrote an honest review for my book on Amazon.”
  3. Build the buzz. Many people make the mistake of not building the buzz. The people who have been reading my blog for a while know that I am writing a book called Lead The Stampede that will be published in the summer. That’s because I have mentioned my upcoming book in several blog posts. In addition, people have already contacted me on Twitter saying that they cannot wait for the book to come out.
  4. Use HARO to get pitches. After reading The Pumpkin Plan by Mike Michalowicz, one of the things I noticed is that there were a lot of examples of other people using various methods included in The Pumpkin Plan. Mike Michalowicz got many of these stories from using HARO and submitting a query. I decided to do the same thing for Lead The Stampede. Several people’s stories will be included in Lead The Stampede. The people whose stories are going to be included in Lead The Stampede have asked me when the book will come out and want updates. I get more sales and promote others. It’s a win-win for everyone!
  5. Get the big guys and gals to review your book. If you get a review from one celebrity, that’s all you need. The people who have a deep respect for that celebrity notice the review. At the back of The Pumpkin Plan is a review from Seth Godin. It did not take me long to realize that The Pumpkin Plan needed to be on my reading list.

Those are 5 ways to get more eBook sales. What are your thoughts about the list? Do you have any additional tips you would like to recommend? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

How To Jump Start Your Blog

April 22, 2014 by Marc Guberti 9 Comments

Jumpstarting Blog Statistics

Whether your blog is about gardening or food, you can easily jump start that blog. As you continue writing blog posts, your blog will eventually see a dramatic rise in traffic. That’s what plenty of the experts say, but there is a shortcut. Although this shortcut requires more work on your part, it will allow your blog to become successful at a much faster rate. In order to jump start your blog, you need to build a targeted following on your social networks.

The numbers game no longer works. Tools like TwitterAudit are being used every day to find out who has the real followers and who has extra cash in their pockets to buy fake followers. Building a targeted following is the only option we have left to be successful on social media. The blogs that we all know about were created by a blogger who now has a big presence on a social network.

Having a targeted following on a social network guarantees that your followers like the content that you post. In addition, these followers are eager to click on your links and read your blog posts. The reason this blog experienced exponential growth over a span of several months is because I got targeted followers at a much faster rate. Although the exponential growth has sizzled down, I will expect to see more exponential growth in the summer. That’s what happened last year, and this year should be a repeat.

The moment it becomes much easier (and free) to schedule pins, my traffic will be able to exponentially increase. The reason is that I have over 10,000 targeted followers on Pinterest. In addition, I gain hundred of targeted followers on Twitter every day.

Ever since I started to focus on gaining targeted followers, I have seen a noticeable increase in my blog traffic. In August 2013, I got 587 views. Less than 6 months later, to start off 2014, my blog got 11,709 views for the month. That is what exponential traffic looks like, and in order to get that exponential traffic, you need to grow a targeted following on your social networks.

Social media has played a big role in this blog’s success, and social media will continue playing a big part in this blog’s success. My prediction is that once my blog starts to gain traffic exponentially again (last year, this started in the fall), my blog could reach 100,000 monthly views by the end of 2014. If you want to give your blog a big jump start, do not focus on the search engines. Focus on growing a targeted following on your social networks. In fact, building a strong presence on a social network improves your SEO.

A Goal Without A Plan Is Just A Wish

April 22, 2014 by Marc Guberti 11 Comments

Shooting Star

It is easy to give yourself a goal and write it down. Getting that goal accomplished is not.

Most people go into their goals without giving themselves any kind of plan to get there. If you want to double your sales, how are you going to make that happen. The only way to make your goal happen is by giving yourself a plan and implementing that plan.

I find it annoying when people wish upon a star. Most people who wish upon a star simply wish for something to happen, and just by making the wish, most people expect that wish to automatically happen. No matter how many stars you wish upon, that goal will not get accomplished without a plan.

A goal without a plan is just a wish such as becoming a professional athlete and have a big house. How could those things possible happen? Creating the right plan will allow you to experience the results you want to see.

Stop wishing and start planning.
