The World’s A Big Place

July 29, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

The common saying goes, “When you create it, people will come.” Some things are just too good to be true. People automatically coming to see what you created is too easy.

You may have realized people don’t come automatically awhile ago, you might have just realized it’s true, or you don’t know yet since you haven’t launched a product. No matter how good your product is, people don’t know about you.

We are creatures of habit. You’ve visited the same grocery store for a while now, and other than some alteration, everything remains the same. You have that favorite website that you go on, or you buy products from your favorite seller.

The world is a big place, and with habit driving our decisions, we aren’t going to simply come and see what other people created. You have to make what you created worth sharing. What you created has to be spectacular so that people can proudly tell other people who you are.

The world is a very large place. When we think of inventors, most of us will think of Steve Jobs and Thomas Edison. The world has billions of people and 7 continents (and one of them is Antarctica). That’s a lot of people on each continent.

The people we remember such as Steve Jobs and Thomas Edison are the ones that did extraordinary things. They didn’t wait for people to come. They made sure that people came to see what they were all about.

In a big place like our world, people don’t come because they can’t see you. You have to make yourself be able to be seen.

Overpromoters Go Downhill Fast

April 21, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Do you have an eBook or product that you want people to buy? The best way to get more sales for that product is to AVOID promoting that individual product or eBook too much. An example of this is my eBook about Honest Ways To Make Money Online. I do not talk about it too much (maybe twice a week on Twitter), but I provide other content as well. You can easily create loyal customers, but you don’t start by shoving your services, product, or eBook right into their face. I created a Squidoo lens that tells people how to make money online. I put my eBook all the way on the bottom of that lens so it wouldn’t get in the way of the content. The content entices people to keep an eye on you, and then when you promote your eBook, product, or service, you will get a lot of sales. Don’t overpromote what you want to sell. It takes time to succeed.
