7 Ways To Get More People To Share Your Blog Posts

April 18, 2014 by Marc Guberti 7 Comments

The reason why most blogs do not take off is because they do not get shared on social networks often. Getting your blog shared on social networks is the best way to get more traffic to your blog. My blog’s traffic rises in direct relation to the number of tweets I send out in a given day and when I gain more targeted followers. In order to get your blog posts shared more often, follow these 7 tips:

  1. Include social sharing buttons either at the top or bottom of all of your blog posts. By including social sharing buttons, you are giving your readers an easier way to share your blog posts. Your readers will be less inclined to share a blog post if that involves copying the link, going to the social network, pasting the link, and writing some text. Make it as easy as possible for people to share your blog posts.
  2. Grow targeted followings on one or multiple social networks. Targeted followings are critical to the growth of your blog. Targeted followers are more likely to reshare your posts and engage with you in a conversation.
  3. Write a strong title. Many times, people share a blog post based on the title. Few people who share blog posts take the time to read the entire blog posts. Most people just skim through parts of a blog post.
  4. Write quality content. Although most people skim through blog posts, it is still important to write quality content. If someone reads through enough of your blog post to determine that it is a quality blog post, that person will share the blog post. If someone comes back and share two more blog posts because of quality content, that person will be sharing your blog posts on a daily basis since they know you provide quality content. By writing quality content, you will be creating blog posts that are worth sharing.
  5. Write blog posts consistently and frequently. If you write one blog post every day, your blog posts are more likely to get shared on social networks. In addition, you should post all of your blog posts at the same time of the day. If everyone knows when you publish your blog posts, they will all visit your blog at that time to read the new content.
  6. Share your blog posts on your own social networks. Having the targeted followers will not be as valuable if you do not share your blog posts via your social networks. If you want other people to share your blog posts, you will have to share them as well. This will enforce the importance of writing content on your blog that you would be proud to share.
  7. Boost the SEO. If your blog is SEO equipped, your blog will get targeted visitors. When your blog gets targeted visitors, those visitors will be more likely to share your blog posts than non-targeted visitors. Boosting your SEO will allow you to get more visitors from Google who search phrases related to your blog’s content.

These are the seven ways to get more people to share your blog posts. By implementing these tactics consistently, people will share your blog posts at an exponential rate. What are your thoughts about the list, and do you have any additional tips you would like to recommend?

5 Reasons Why You Need To Use WordPress

April 15, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

WordPress is the best place to create a blog. Whether you are using WordPress.com to create a free blog with the WordPress domain, or you are using WordPress.org to host a blog with your own domain, WordPress beats all of the other competitors. If you are deciding where you need to create your first (or next) blog, here are five reasons why you need to use WordPress.

  1. WordPress offers many themes. Not only is there variety, but most of the themes on WordPress are free. There are even categories that you can use to identify the perfect theme for your blog.
  2. WordPress has really good statistics. WordPress shows you the amount of visitors and views you got in any given day ever since your blog was created. WordPress also shows which countries view your blog the most, which links on your blog are getting clicked, and which referrers are driving traffic to your blog. If you want to access the statistics for a particular day, you can learn how to do that here.
  3. The WordPress dashboard makes WordPress easy to use for everyone. The dashboard lays out all of your options. The dashboard shows you exactly where you need to go to write a new blog post, and WordPress already gives you a form to write your new blog posts.
  4. There are countless plugins you can use to enhance your blog (WordPress.org). WordPress.org offers its members plugins that they can use to enhance the quality of their blog. These are some of the plugins that I use to get more shares, increase my blog’s speed, and get more engagement on my blog.
  5. WordPress has an above average support forum. If you have a question, someone in the support forum will answer it. While other blogging options do not have support forums (or they are well below average), WordPress beats the competition in providing a quality support forum that will get most questions answered.

Those are five reasons to use WordPress. What are your thoughts on the list, and in addition, why do you use WordPress? If you do not use WordPress, why do you use the other option instead?

4 Big Reasons To Schedule More Blog Posts

April 14, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Scheduling blog posts was a game changing experience. As I was able to schedule more blog posts, I decided to try publishing two blog posts every day to give myself a bigger challenge and get better results at the same time. The entire process has been very rewarding, but scheduling blog posts has other benefits as well. Now, I have numerous blog posts that are scheduled, and throughout my adventure, I have learned about the four big reasons to schedule more blog posts.

  1. Better results. I briefly mentioned getting better results, but I would like to go more in-depth about those better results. Immediately when I published two blog posts every day, my traffic doubled, and people who visited my blog stuck on for longer periods of time. That was because content was getting added to my blog at a faster rate. Therefore, visitors had more content to read.
  2. The more you practice, the better you get. There is no limit to how good of a writer someone can become. In order to become an effective writer, you need to practice often. By frequently scheduling blog posts, you will be able to get in the practice that turns you into one of the best writers around.
  3. Less stress. You do not have to be writing every day in order to publish a blog post every day. Instead of coming home on day at around midnight and rushing to write the blog post your readers are expecting, you can schedule blog posts in advance so you deal with less stress.
  4. You can focus more on big projects. If your big project needs to be completed in a week, and you still have to write blog posts during that week, that will take up a lot of your time. However, if you have your blog posts scheduled weeks in advance, you will be able to focus more of your time on the big project.

These are the four big reasons to schedule more blog posts. What are your thoughts on the list? Do you have any other reasons that you schedule blog posts in advance? Please share your thoughts below.

How I Find The Time To Publish 2 Blog Posts Every Day

April 10, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

When I made the change last summer to write two blog posts every day instead of one blog post, I knew it was going to require a lot more work. In addition, I knew that I was encountered with a decision to cross the Rubicon. Once I start something new, and I like the results, I have a need to remain consistent and show gradual improvements.

Writing two blog posts every day was a big step for me. I had 20 blog posts scheduled at the time, but instead of having 20 days of blog posts left, I only had 10 days of blog posts left. Instead of writing three blog posts on some days and then taking a break, I started to write blog posts every day. In fact, I continue writing blog posts every day even now (unless something stops me from getting to my computer).

The biggest factor towards me being able to write two blog posts every day is that I love what I do. If I had forced myself to write a certain number of words per blog post, I would not have liked this as much. When I first started writing two blog posts every day, they were short and filled with mistakes. No one noticed because at the time, my blog was not getting a lot of visitors. I was simply practicing.

Then, I had the realization that I could make it far as an author, blogger, and entrepreneur. My short blog posts started gaining momentum, and now all of the blog posts on my blog combined average out to be 250 words per blog post. This indicates the big increase in words and information I have shared in more recent posts (in the beginning, many of my blog posts had 100 words or less). After the love came, the vision was able to drive me further. Then, I decided to increase the rate that I send out blog posts.

Then there’s time management. My ability to effectively manage my time has been a crucial part towards writing more blog posts. My love for blogging and the vision made me more willing to carve out hours of time to write blog posts. In order to carve out that time, I needed to sacrifice other things. I used to be a couch potato and watch TV for countless hours. Now, I only watch The Big Bang Theory, my Red Sox when they are on the diamond, and some football. Since those are not on every night, I sometimes go for days without watching TV. I decided that in order to become successful, I would have to commit more time to becoming successful. It’s a success model that makes sense, and it’s a success model that I decided to implement.

Ultimately, it comes down to your love for doing something and your vision. Having the love to do something and the vision of great success will make the process of time management a lot easier. We tend to carve out more time to do the things we believe can change our situation (or the world) than we carve out time for washing the dishes.

And that’s how I am able to two blog posts every day. So far, I have never worked a single day in my life, and I plan to have that statement remain true for my entire life.

It’s Easier Than You Think To Write A Book

April 3, 2014 by Marc Guberti 3 Comments

There are some moments when it seems nearly impossible to write a book. Whether the problem is finding sources or turning your idea into 100 pages, writing a book can sometimes get tough. If you want the entire process of writing a book to become easier, you need to be actively publishing new content on your blog.

Starting at the New Year, I have written over 70,000 words for this blog alone in less than a quarter. 70,000 words equates to something close to 150 pages, and by the end of the year, this blog will have gained an extra 300,000 words of content. Writers are constantly finding ways to have bigger numbers for their books. They want a book with triple digit pages, over 100,000 words, and anything else they need. By writing quality blog posts every day and sticking with it, not only will you grow a big presence, but you will also be able to create your own book with your blog.

Many authors have created books with a collection of their blog posts such as Seth Godin (who did that twice). Both of those books became bestsellers. Even if you do not become a bestseller right away, this gives you an advantage because you have already written all of the content. All you have to do now is arrange that content in an organized way so a certain theme can be emphasized.

There should be no hardships that stop potential authors from writing their books. If you are able to send out one blog post every day, you will eventually able to have a blog with enough content to fill an entire book.

How To Get More Blog Traffic From Twitter

April 3, 2014 by Marc Guberti 20 Comments

Twitter is my favorite social network on the web. When utilized properly, Twitter can become a powerful way for you to get more traffic. Most of the people who visit my blog come from Twitter. In a given day, more than 50% of the people who visit my blog came from Twitter. I am going to share with you how I was able to go from getting 0 visitors on my blog from Twitter to getting hundreds of daily visitors just from Twitter alone.

There are three main components that allowed me to see a big transformation in my blog’s traffic, my books’ sales, and my blog’s Alexa rank. The first component towards my blog’s success on Twitter was that I decided to follow targeted followers instead of just following anyone on Twitter. I am not “following random people.” I am following people who are already interested in what I tweet about before they click the follow button. This has led to me making strong connections with renowned entrepreneurs and social media experts.

The second component towards my blog’s success on Twitter is that I sent out tweets at a frequent and consistent pace. Every 30 minutes, I send out a tweet. I send out tweets in the middle of the day, but I also send them out on midnight. If it is midnight at one location, it is the middle of the day in another location. I was amazed when someone tweeted that he would be going to bed at around 6 pm. Then, I realized that person lived in another continent and that 6 pm was really 11 pm where that person lives.

The third component towards my blog’s success on Twitter is being persistent. Doing this for one day will not bring forth a dramatic change. You will most likely experience a big change on the first day you implement these tactics, but then it may take months of consistently following targeted people and scheduling tweets until you see the next dramatic rise in traffic. I am assure you that each dramatic rise in traffic that you experience is better than the last.

What are your thoughts about the components I have used? Do you have any other tips and suggestions to add? Share your thoughts and advice below.
