How To Remain Patient Through Hard Times

June 14, 2014 by Marc Guberti 3 Comments

Patience Is A Virtue

Something that almost everyone despises is remaining patient. Remaining patient after putting in a lot of work for months and years is what allows people to become successful. Every successful blogger has a lot of patience. It takes a lot of dedication to continue writing 1 blog post every day even when no one is visiting. It’s when the blogger gets 100 daily visitors when everything starts to pay off (and grow even faster).

Most people tend to be at the stage of the game that requires a lot of patience. This stage of the game is not a matter of knowing what to do. It’s a matter of already knowing what to do, learning more along the way, but having to put in the same amount of work (or more than that) every day until something magical happens. When that magical thing happens, your traffic stats, followers, and sales will soar.

I was very patient with my blog. During my first month, I got a whooping 38 views. Now I get over 100,000 visitors every year. It took me 30 months to go from where I started to getting 100,000 visitors every year.

I said that every successful blogger needs to be very patient in order to be successful, but I would like to expand the definition to any successful person. It doesn’t matter what niche you are in. Success requires putting in a lot of work while remaining patient. Steve Jobs had to be very patient in order to become successful. So did Mark Cuban, Richard Branson, and all of the other successful people in the world.

Now that you know that patience is a critical component towards becoming successful, you should know exactly how to remain patient through hard times. One of the best ways to remain patient is to remember why you started. Did you start because you wanted more financial flexibility? Did you start because you want to become the best person in your niche? There are a variety of reasons why you could have started, but by reminding yourself why you started, you will give yourself the motivation you need to continue and remain patient.

It’s also beneficial to realize that every successful person had to be patient as well. I went into great detail about this, but it is important to realize that the people who you admire had to be very patient. Do you admire a professional athlete? Just remember that the professional athlete you admire is someone who spent countless hours practicing, playing the sport throughout high school and college, playing for farm team systems, and then excelling once the opportunity presented itself. Do you admire a marketer? There was one point when no one knew about that particular marketer.

There was also a point when no one knew about you. You may think that is still the case, but there are people who have learned about you in the past months. You are going through the same journey that the most successful people in the world went through. Not only did it take a long time for these successful people to go through these journeys, but they also failed numerous times along the way. I’m sure that would encourage you to remain patient through hard times. Just because you fail does not mean you have to throw in the towel. Failure gives you another reason to get up and continue so that you are eventually able to get it right…and become successful at the same time.

When all else fails, look at success stories of other people and envision yourself becoming that successful. Envision yourself getting the same results as the person who is already successful. Think about the dream and imagine what would happen if it turned into a reality. This will give you the motivation and patience you need to learn more about your niche, get more work done, and implement more tactics in order for your dream to become a reality.

Those are the best ways to remain patient through hard times. There are other ways to remain patient, but out of all of the methods out there, I have had the most success at remaining patient with the methods I included in this blog post. What are your thoughts about the methods I use to remain patient? Do you have any additional tips on staying patient? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

The 7 Laws Of Social Media Marketing

June 14, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is one of the most important ways to grow your business. Social media allows you to build connections that last for a long period of time, and marketing your products and blog posts on a powerful platform will allow you to get more traffic. The only way to be successful with social media marketing is by knowing what tactics must be followed. These are the Seven Laws Of Social Media Marketing:

  1. Provide quality content. You can spend $100,000 on advertising, but in the end, quality content is what makes people stick around. You may get a big spike in traffic in the beginning, but that traffic will go on a rapid decline if the content you lead your visitors to is bad.
  2. Be patient. It’s easily to get discouraged with only 100 followers. However, by being patient and constantly learning, you will eventually grow your following dramatically. There was a point when I had 0 followers on Twitter, and there was a point when I was stuck at 1,667 followers for several months. By being patient, I ended up discovering a method which I now use to gain 500 followers every day. In addition, the only reason this blog is successful is because of my Twitter account. Then, everything else (SEO, better content, etc) came into place.
  3. Optimize your blog. This one is a must (but then again, they all are). Once you get visitors, throwing away that traffic would be such a shame. This is the part that many people forget, and as a result, they throw away the traffic they get. Boost the chances of having someone subscribe to your blog by creating a blog that is designed to have a very low bounce rate.
  4. Have a clear message. Your message determines who your targeted audience is. Make your message clear by focusing on specific niches instead of having an unclear message with too much clutter. It is better to focus on 1 niche than it is to give some of your attention to 10 things you are interested in and make that your message.
  5. Listen to others. One of the qualities of leaders is to listen before speaking. Take the time to read your followers’ tweets before you respond to them. In addition, listen to people’s problems concerning your niche. What are certain aspects of your niche that give people the hardest time? Listening will help you identify the answer to that question and give you an idea for your next product.
  6. Include a free prize. The more free prizes you have, the better. Include a free prize in your social media marketing strategy so you get more likes, retweets, repins, or any other social media metric that you want. You can also include a free prize on your blog so more people who go to your blog from social networks are likely to become subscribers.
  7. Post content more often on your social networks. Going from tweeting once every hour to tweeting once every 30 minutes did me a lot of good. Going on to send out one tweet every 20 minutes yielded better results. Part of social media marketing is getting seen by as many people as possible. By scheduling posts (which allows you to post consistently), more people will be able to see your posts. In addition, send out posts when most of your followers are online. Facebook has its own statistics for Facebook Pages that allow you to see this while you can use Tweriod to see when people are on Twitter.

In order to get the best results from social media marketing, you need to follow these rules. Although they do not guarantee overnight results, performing these actions will allow you to see a dramatic increase in traffic and conversions over time. What are your thoughts on these social media marketing laws and do you have any other tips you would like to share? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

How To Create The Best Free Prize Possible

June 12, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Giving away a free prize will encourage people to subscribe to your blog, like you on Facebook, and do other things as well. While the free prize encourages these actions to be performed, it is the best free prize possible that makes people take you seriously and buy your products. If you do a good job with the free prize, your potential customers will buy your products primarily because they believe that your products are much better than your free prizes.

Although it is important to create a free prize that would be worth something, many people only create a free prize just for the sake of saying that they have a free prize. These people create a bad free prize that does encourage more subscribers and Facebook likes, but the bad free prize does not encourage anything after that. Potential sales never happen, and some people go as far as unsubscribing or unliking if the free prize is really bad.

A free prize is just that. It is free, but it is also a prize worth winning. In order to make your free prize worth winning, you first need to decide what your free prize will be. If you want to provide a digital prize (so you don’t have to pay for shipping), you can offer an eBook, Power Point, video, or audio. Those are the options that most people use for their free products. For this blog, the free prize is a video about Pinterest.

Your free prize needs to be a lengthy one. The longer your free prize is, the longer you will be able to keep someone’s attention. A free eBook with 10 pages can be read in under 5 minutes while a free 50 page eBook takes 10 minutes to read. Free 30 minute videos get more attention than free 10 minute videos because the person can watch the    free 30 minute video for an additional 20 minutes. By keeping someone’s attention longer with a lengthier prize, that person will think more and more that they need to buy some of your products.

Offering a lengthier prize also shows people that you went the extra mile to provide more free content. People love it when others go the extra mile to help them. Some of the people who get your free prize will eventually return the favor by buying one of your products.

While length is a big factor towards how good your free prize is, the quality of the free prize also determines how much attention it gets. If the free prize is a 50 page eBook with low quality content, then most people will “x out” of the book without saving it or bothering to read it any further. In addition, a poorly performed 30 minute video will lose attention as the seconds go by.

Your free prize needs to be lengthy and contain quality content. It is the job of your free prize to answer all of the readers’ questions about a particular area in your niche. That is all you need to do to create a free prize that entices people to buy your products.

What are your thoughts on the free prize? Do you have any tips on creating a free prize? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

Don’t Change At The Cost Of Losing What Makes You Unique

June 7, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

uniqueStand Out

When my blog surpassed the 100,000 annual visitors milestone, I wanted to make drastic changes so I could turn 100,000 annual visitors into 100,000 monthly visitors. There is no limit to how much a blog can grow, and even the people who are getting 100,000 daily visitors are still looking for ways to get more traffic. The more of traffic we have, the better.

However, one of the drastic changes I was going to make was only publishing 1 blog post every day. This part of the strategy was that I would be able to write a 1,000 word blog post, and by having longer blog posts, I would rank higher on Google’s search engine. Therefore, I would be able to get more traffic from SEO than ever before.

The problem was that writing these blog posts took a lot of time, and I also felt uncomfortable thinking about the blog post I would have to eventually send out telling everyone that I would not be able to publish two blog posts every day. Being able to publish two blog posts every day is something that few people are able to do. It is one of the characteristics that makes this blog unique, and when I realized that, I wasn’t going to take it away by only publishing 1 blog post every day.

My blog posts are simple and to the point. That’s how I like writing them and that is how I will continue to write them. There will be some longer blog posts slipped in every once in a while, but for the most part, everything is going to remain the same. Once you become remarkable in a certain area by performing a certain activity that few people do (or no one at all), it is important to continue performing that certain activity. That’s the decision I made when I decided that I would continue publishing two blog posts every day.

What are your thoughts on becoming remarkable and remaining remarkable without changing what allowed you to become remarkable in the first place? Do you have any stories of your own? Please share your thoughts below.

Why Running Will Make You More Likely To Succeed

May 27, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

running

There are many articles on the web that mention exercising as a way to become more productive. I started to read these kinds of articles during my freshman year when I recently joined my school’s cross country and track & field team. When I saw that exercising increases productivity, I was astounded. Increasing productivity was one of the (very small) reasons why I continued running track (the bigger reason is that I enjoy the sport).

One of the big things about cross country and track & field is that the committed athletes who love the sport always want to get better. In the running world, PR does not mean press release. Instead, it stands for personal record. When an athlete gets a PR, the athlete celebrates that PR for a day, but on the following day, that athlete wants to set another PR. I remember boosting my workout from 4-6 miles every day to 8 miles every day over the summer. Now, I plan to run over 16 miles every day in the summer (if it happens, I’ll be in really good shape). I quickly realized that the runner’s attitude towards getting more PR’s has been the recipe to success all along.

If you become an active runner, you will want to get better every time. You will want to run the mile faster this week than you did last week. Active runners decide to run longer distance and more challenging workouts in order to get better times. This constant need to improve leads to longer workouts which ultimately leads to a more successful running career–whether you are running for fun around your neighborhood or hope to make it to the Olympics.

Once you apply this mindset to one thing, it will be easier for you to apply this mindset to other places as well. One of the places you will be able to apply this mindset is your niche. When I found the time to think of my entire journey as a runner and entrepreneur, my blog started to improve in traffic and content as I ran more often.

The big spike in traffic for this blog (my blog went from 500 views to over 10,000 views in 5 months) started during my sophomore year of cross country (that’s when I started to take running very seriously). In addition, this is the same time when I went from gaining 50 followers every day to gaining over 300 followers every day. In addition, I found the time to write two blog posts every day weeks before the first cross country practice for sophomore year.

Just to prove that I’m not making any of this stuff up, Steve Scott (there are a lot of Steve Scotts in the world) is a self-published author who is poised to make over $300,000 every year from his Kindle books. It just so happens that Steve is also a marathon runner. Is it just a coincedence? I think not.

What are your thoughts about running? Are you an active runner? Do you plan to become an active runner? Please share your thoughts below.

The secret weapon is social media. Social media can build a business’ reputation and get more customers for that business. Social media can turn an unknown business into a thriving business with thousands of followers.

The reason why social media is a secret weapon is because most people do not know how to utilize their social networks to improve their businesses. Social media is all about building connections. There is no such thing as having too many connections. The more connections you have, the more customers and business opportunities you get.

In order to use the secret weapon, you need to be following targeted users. No one is going to know about your business unless you build your targeted following first. As people follow you back, and your business grows its social media presence, you will be able to see the full potential of social media.

Using social media properly to grow a business is the entrepreneurial secret weapon. Social media allows unknowns to become part of the well-known. Social media is the best thing you can use to grow your business.
