7 Ways To Get More Backlinks For Your Blog

March 28, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

I'm happy to see you around. You may want to subscribe to my blog. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome back! I am so happy to see that you have come back for more.

Backlinks are very important to boosting your SEO. Backlinks put a link on your blog on other places on the web. Not only will people on other places on the web be able to go to your blog, but your blog will also rank higher on Google. Getting quality backlinks is better than having a quantity of backlinks. Right now, I am going to tell you seven ways that you can get the best of both worlds: quality and quantity.

  1. Become a guest blogger. I am an active guest blogger on Business2Community. Not only does guest blogging result in more traffic to my blog, but Business2Community is now a backlink for my blog. The more guest blogs you write for, the more backlinks you will get. However, be sure to write at least 5 guest posts on the same blog in order to build your presence on that guest blog.
  2. Write quality content. If you want to get people to write about your blog (and get a backlink), you need to write quality content. As you write more blog posts, people will have more options of writing about you and your content.
  3. Write pages on the web that link to your blog. There are many options to do this. I primarily use Squidoo, but Zujava, HubPages, and Wizzley are other options. I recommend using Squidoo because it is the best one, you can donate to charities, and it is very easy to create a page on Squidoo. Here is an example.
  4. Verify your blog on Pinterest. This is a simple way to get a high quality backlink. There are numerous plugins that can get the job done, and having your blog verified on Pinterest will boost your SEO.
  5. Create more blogs. This one may be a bit tough to do considering that you would have to update multiple blogs every day/week. However, if you are willing to take the challenge, you can have your blogs link to each other and improve the SEO for all of your blogs. In addition, if one of your blogs gets thousands of visitors every day, those traffic stats trickle to your other blogs as well.
  6. Backlink exchanging. Although my blog does not participate in backlink exchanges (unless Zuckerberg comes by. Then I bend the rules), they are a method that beginners can use to get a voice on the web. If you exchange backlinks with 100 people, you will have 100 extra backlinks on the web. If you decide to do backlink exchanging, be sure to exchange backlinks with a blog that is similar to yours.
  7. Write articles on Bubblews. Not only will you be able to make money for every view on Bubblews, but you will also be able to get a backlink to your blog. The secret method is to add a URL to your blog in one of your Bubblews articles just like I did for this article. Bubblews is a very popular site, and it will give your blog a quality backlink.

Those are the seven ways to get more backlinks on your blog. Do you have any additional tips or thoughts? Please share them below.

The Biggest Twitter Challenge And How To Overcome It

March 28, 2014 by Marc Guberti 10 Comments

Out of all of the challenges that are involved with creating a Twitter account and being successful, the most challenging part is consistently tweeting and being active even when your follower number is not very high. Even though you are putting in a lot of work, you may only get one or no retweets from your efforts.

This is the biggest challenge. However, if you are tweeting consistently throughout the day, some of your followers will notice. As they engage in your tweets, have conversations with those followers. The conversations you start can build strong connections between you and the follower. By doing this enough times, you will have a retweeting army who will retweet you at will.

The main reason people are not getting a lot of Twitter followers is because we all want to become the person with 100,000 followers while only following 1 person. We need to follow targeted followers in big quantities in order to reach 100,000. Find someone in your niche with over 100,000 real followers, and follow that person’s followers who are likely to follow back. Tweepi is a great tool that gives you a big list of someone’s followers. As you follow people who are likely to follow back, your follower count will rise. In addition, more of your followers will engage in your tweets and have conversations with you.

The biggest challenge on Twitter is to work hard even when you do not have a big audience. If you continue to work hard and gradually build your audience, the same work you were putting in a few months ago will result in multiple retweets for every tweet, more conversations, and a targeted following who loves what you tweet about.

Why You Need A Facebook Page

March 27, 2014 by Marc Guberti 4 Comments

Facebook Tips

Facebook is the largest social network on the web with over 1 billion users. Many companies utilize Facebook to bring traffic to their blogs and products. However, you are making a big mistake if your personal account is your professional account. In order to be professional on Facebook, you need to have a Facebook Page.

Having a Facebook Page for your business will allow you to focus specifically on that business. All of the dog pictures can now go on your personal account and away from the people who are only interested in your business. In order to establish a powerful presence on Facebook for your brand, you need to have a business page.

If you create a Facebook Page, people will have the option of liking your page. When someone likes your page, all of that person’s friends get notified that the person liked your Facebook Page. As a result, more people are visiting and liking your Facebook Page. Then, people decide to like your posts, and your content spreads across the most popular social network on the web.

Having a Facebook Page is important towards growth because it gets promoted more often than a personal account and it makes you look more professional on Facebook.

How To Schedule Tweets Five Times Faster

March 27, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

When I decided to tweet every 30 minutes, that meant more engagement for my tweets. However, tweeting every 30 minutes also meant putting in twice as much time to schedule tweets. On some days, I would spend hours scheduling tweets, and scheduling tweets for hours had an impact on my writing. I was still able to write quality content, but I was not able to write as much as I had in the past.

When I was tweeting every hour, writing 20 blog posts every week did not seem like a challenge. However, when I started to tweet every 30 minutes, writing 20 blog posts every week got progressively harder. To top it all off, I do other things such as videos, homework, and reading. I knew this was going to drive me crazy so I decided to search for a solution.

The funny thing is that the solution was in front of me the entire time. I use HootSuite to schedule my tweets. I had been using the free version of HootSuite for years, but ever since I started tweeting every 30 minutes, I noticed more of my time was getting gobbled up from scheduling tweets. The solution was HootSuite Pro.

HootSuite Pro has many features, but the only one I cared about at the time was the bulk scheduler. HootSuite gives you a file where you can write in all of the tweet you want to send out with the times and dates for those tweets (maximum of 350 tweets per file). Using the bulk scheduler is much faster than using the free version where you manually schedule one tweet at a time, change the dates, change the time, and change the AM and PM.

Now that I am able to schedule tweets 5 times faster, I am also able to write more blog posts. I now have enough time to write 20 blog posts every week and have time left over to write a book. If you are panicking and stressing about the workload of scheduling a lot of tweets and having it take up a lot of your time, I highly recommend paying $9.99 a month for HootSuite Pro. It is worth every penny and saves me at least 10 hours a week.

The 3 Characteristics Of A Perfect Pin

March 26, 2014 by Marc Guberti 8 Comments

In order to get the best from Pinterest, you need to send out pins that people will want to repin. The pin that people would want to repin, the perfect pin, has several characteristics. However, when all of these characteristics are put into 1 pin, you will see more repins. These are the three characteristics of a perfect pin.

  1. Pin a picture that grabs our attention. Small pictures get little attention while big pictures get a lot of attention. In addition, the color yellow grabs our attention quicker than any other color.
  2. The picture needs to be cool or have a powerful message. Now that you have our attention, we need a reason to repin your pin. This is when either being cool or motivational will result in more repins. 3D printing is cool because it is an innovation. That’s why most of my repinned pins are 3D printed creations. Motivation comes in the forms of inspirational “go get ‘em” quotes.
  3. Have a description that explains your picture. In 1-2 sentences, briefly describe the picture you pinned. Tell people what the picture is even if the picture is of something that we all know. If you pin a picture of a rabbit, be sure to tell us that it is a rabbit. We know what rabbits look like, but on Pinterest, you need to tell them what your picture is.

The next time you send out a pin on Pinterest, be sure that you are sending out the perfect pin. These kinds of pins get repinned more often than the average pin. Some perfect pins even go viral. What are your thoughts on the perfect pin? Do you have any additional tips or thoughts? Please share them below.

How To Keep The Momentum Going On Your Social Networks

March 26, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

The growth of a social network is a slow process. However, when a social network starts to see a big pick-up in growth, you want that growth to either last as long as possible or for that growth to not stop at all. I remember when I went from gaining 50 followers every day to gaining 300 followers every day, I wanted that growth to last.

I ended up implementing the same tactics that resulted in me gaining 300 followers on a consistent basis. As a result, I was consistently gaining 300 followers every day. My following count rose dramatically.

After you get a momentum, you want to keep that momentum going. In fact, you want to get better results as well. Ever since I decided to tweet every 30 minutes, I have been getting more engagement for my tweets. My retweets, favorites, and Klout score have all gone up ever since I decided to tweet every 30 minutes.

In order to get better results after you master keeping the momentum, you need to dig deep into the facts, statistics, and articles on the web. The method I used to get 300 followers every day was following a highly regarded person’s followers in my niche. This person was also gaining 300 followers a day. However, my results became dependent on that person. When this person gained 150 followers for the day, I usually gained something close to that (this does not apply for famous people who gain thousands of followers every day). This 300 followers a day increase suddenly went down to a 150-200 follower increase every day.

I did some research and found the #1 most influential social media expert. This person gains over 500 followers every day. I decided to follow this person’s followers instead. Now, I am gaining over 500 followers every day as well. Now I have a stronger momentum which will most likely catapult me onto Forbes’ next Top 50 Social Media Power Users List.

How could I keep the momentum going? I could tweet every 15 minutes. Although that would require a colossal amount of time, I am considering pursuing the task. In addition, I am deeply considering buying access to HootSuite Pro to make scheduling tweets much faster. I could send out more tweets at the moment with pictures to get more retweets and favorites. Building strong presences on Vine and Pinterest will allow me to get even more followers on Twitter.

In order to keep the momentum going, you need to have a big goal in mind. For me, that goal is to be gaining 1,000 followers on Twitter every day before 2014 comes to a close.
