7 Ways To Get More Comments On Your Blog

March 12, 2014 by Marc Guberti 10 Comments

I'm happy to see you around. You may want to subscribe to my blog. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome back! I am so happy to see that you have come back for more.

Getting people to comment on your blog will allow you to interact with your visitors. The more comments you get on your blog, the more visitors you are able to interact with. Many blogs that get numerous comments per post also happen to have be the most popular blogs on the web. Commenting builds the buzz about what you have to offer, and getting those comments can also result in more potential subscribers. In order to get more people to comment on your blog, follow these 7 tips.

  1. Write opinion-based content. By writing opinion-based content, some of your visitors will decide to respond to your blog post with their own opinion. If you write a blog post about how awesome dogs are, some of your visitors will agree while others will disagree. The result will be visitors commenting with their opinion.
  2. Write quality content. It seems as if this tip is everywhere and gets overused. However, it is still an important way to get more comments on your blog. Most comments come from the people who are reading the entire blog post. If you want someone to read your entire blog post, you need to write quality blog posts. That will increase your visitors’ retention rate and as a result lead to more comments.
  3. Get more people to visit your blog. There are numerous ways to do this such as boosting your blog’s SEO, making your blog load faster, and utilizing your social networks. Getting more blog traffic will lead to more visitors. The more visitors a blog has, the more comments that blog gets.
  4. Make sure it is easy to leave a comment. If someone has to log in or create an account in order to leave a comment, less people will leave comments. You should only ask your visitors of three things (name, email, and website). The easier it is to leave a comment, the more comments your blog will get.
  5. Write blog posts consistently and frequently. People need to know when you are going to send out a blog post in order to see it. When they see your blog post, some of those people will comment on it. In order to get the most traffic and comments, it is important to write blog posts on a consistent, frequent basis. I publish blog posts every day at 9 am and 9 pm Eastern Time.
  6. Reply to the people who leave comments. This will only encourage those people to leave more comments on your blog and visit it more often. When new visitors see activity in your comments section, they will be more likely to leave a comment.
  7. Encourage people to leave their own comment. Some people need a little nudge before they leave a comment. If the little nudge encourages 50 people to leave a comment on your blog, you will be able to get more activity on your blog.

Those are the 7 ways to get more comments on your blog. Do you have any additional insights or thoughts about this post that you would like to say? Please share them below.

Intangibles Define Us, Not Statistics

March 11, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Statistics are there, but they can easily get changed. A blogger who is getting 0 visitors a day can end up getting over 100,000 daily visitors at some point in his career. The person who consistently gains 20 followers every day can suddenly end up gaining 300 followers every day.

The Denver Broncos were favored by a landslide to win the Super Bowl against the Seahawks. That did not happen, and the Broncos lost by a long shot. We commonly think that statistics define the best. However, statistics change. We need to focus more on the intangibles to see who the leaders are.

The intangibles are the persistence, consistency, the desire to be successful, and other traits of well-known leaders. While the statistics say hopeless, the intangibles say success story. When the Patriots chose Tom Brady in the 6th round of the draft, he was a back-up quarterback for his college and ran at pedestrian speeds. No one had any idea what the Patriots saw in Brady. Tom Brady ended up becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the sport. The New England Patriots were not looking at the statistics. They were looking at the intangibles.

Statistics are not enough. Some of the people with good statistics don’t want to put in the long hours to get better. The people who have good intangibles are the ones who catch up to the statistic leaders. The intangibles allow some bloggers to go from 0 visitors to 100,000 daily visitors.

Statistics are important, but the intangibles are more important.

6 Reasons Why You Need A Membership Site

March 11, 2014 by Marc Guberti 8 Comments

Did you know that there are many advantages to having a membership site? Most people create products and only make money when the transaction takes place. However, membership sites are different. These are the 6 reasons why you should have a membership site.

  1. Consistent revenue with a gradual rise. This is the big one. Instead of hoping your products keep on making sales and you keep on seeing a profit, a membership site will bring in consistent revenue with a gradual rise. Imagine charging $49 a month and having 200 members. That’s $9800 every month! Products that don’t have a membership do not bring in this consistent revenue as often.
  2. There is less work on your part after the first year. During the first year of a membership site, you would have created the videos and content that went into the membership site. In future years, you will already have the product in place which will allow you to spend more time creating other membership sites and promoting the ones that you already have.
  3. Having a membership site is one of the seven traits of internet millionaires. The membership site also does a good job at laying out 5 of the other traits as well. Imagine how your life would change if you were making over $1 million every year.
  4. Membership sites give you the option to promote your other products. There are many people who give away free products just for joining the membership site. These people commonly give away their own books to all of their members. These people still get to make a profit, and being a bestselling author becomes a lot easier.
  5. You can build a community in the membership site’s forum. The first year is a challenging process because responding to other people in the forum may take up a lot of your time. However, the forum puts you as the #1 go-to expert, and the forum will eventually become a strong community. Then, members will be answering other member’s questions. Everyone ends up winning!
  6. You gain credibility. Imagine you met with two entrepreneurs. One entrepreneur says he has a lot of potential while the other says he has multiple membership sites and books. If you could only choose one, which entrepreneur would you choose to work with? Chances are you would choose the entrepreneur with multiple membership sites and books. These are also the kinds of decisions that big media outlets make before interviewing people.

Those are the 6 reasons why you should get a membership site. I am going to have my own membership site up before the end of the summer (about social media, of course). What will your membership site be about?

The Difference Between Being The Best And Showing Up

March 10, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Showing up is easy. You don’t have to try. You just have to be in the room.

Being the best means putting in a lot of work and effort to achieve a goal. Being the best means that you want to get better even if you are already good at something.

Getting better and wanting to get better are two different things.

Are you showing up or are you being the best?

What Makes A Twitter Background Great

March 10, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

There are many factors we take into considering when measuring someone’s success on Twitter. The number of targeted followers and amount of engagement per tweet are two of the many things we measure in order to determine how successful someone is on Twitter. However, there is one factor that commonly gets overlooked. That overlooked factor is the background.

Decent backgrounds do not get noticed. Ugly backgrounds get noticed for the wrong reasons. The quality backgrounds around get noticed for the right reasons. There are not as many quality backgrounds on Twitter as there should be. This is mostly because the need for a quality background has gone unnoticed.

There are ways to make your Twitter background great. The best way to do so is by making sure your background does a good job at telling people what you tweet about. I tweet about social media, so I have a background that is related to social media.

If you are willing to pay for a service or know how to make a customized Twitter background, you should include your blog’s URL and other social networks in your Twitter background. This will allow your followers know of more ways to get access to your content.

Those are the different ways to create a quality Twitter background. The easiest method is to get a picture from the web that gives people a good idea of what you talk about. If you have some extra money to spend or know how to create a professional looking background, add your information in the background as well. The only backgrounds that get good attention are the quality ones.

5 Reasons To Comment On Other People’s Blogs

March 9, 2014 by Marc Guberti 14 Comments

There are a lot of ways to build your presence as a blogger, and one of those methods is commenting on other people’s blogs. While this is a slower approach towards building a powerful presence, consistently commenting on other people’s blogs will one day give you a surge of traffic. Of all of the reasons to comment on other people’s blogs, these 5 reasons are the ones that stand out the most.

  1. Your blog gets more backlinks. Leaving comments on other people’s blogs results in a backlink for your blog. Getting more backlinks will get your blog more traffic from search engines.
  2. You get to build connections with other commentors. The people who leave a comment after you are very likely to see your comment as well. This will result in you making numerous connections depending on how popular the blog is.
  3. You can connect with the blogger. Some bloggers respond to the comments of their visitors. This gives you the ability to build a strong connection with the blogger. Then, you can ask that blogger to be a guest for an interview (Google Hangouts or an email with questions). Interviews end up helping out both you and the blogger.
  4. Some blogs have widgets on the sidebar that show the top commentors. The blogs with these widgets will allow you to easily get another backlink to your blog. In addition, your name will appear on multiple places in the same blog. The more times your name shows up, the more likely someone is to visit your blog.
  5. People see you more often. As people see you more often, their trust for you will grow. This concept is a big reason why many companies have not given up on the TV advertising game. They need to be seen often in order to gain our trust.

Those are the 5 key benefits of commenting on other people’s blogs. Whether you want to give it a try on this blog or comment on other blogs, commenting on other blogs is a great way for you to build your own blog’s traffic.
