Presenting Information Well

June 21, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

I was recently at a business expo in New York City, and I was very impressed. All of the presenters knew what they were talking about, signed their books, offered discount, and shared their information naturally.

None of them paused. None of them forgot what they were going to say. They were all able to teach me something new about Social Media and the thinking style for a business. I got the two books The Pumpkin Plan (by @MikeMichalowicz) and It’s Your Biz (by @SusanSolovic) which I will begin reading over the weekend.

The presenters were able to do a great job presenting what they wanted to present. They were able to be themselves and provide quality information. People buy products from the people who know how to present because the presentation gives people a sneak peek of the content in the book.

Look At The Flaws And The Big Picture

June 20, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Nothing is perfect. The best business is going to have a flaw or two. The best event will have some flaws as well.

Summer is a great time for people to relax, work on their businesses, and control their own schedules. That sounds incredible, but there are some flaws with summer. All of the insects don’t come out. They come in. There are more ants everyday. Figuring out how they get in is just as hard as taking them out of the house.

Google gives us a lot of different products to try. Is Google able to answer all of our questions? The answer is no, but there are many people who are happy with Google. Most people use Google for the search function while some people use Google’s products such as AdSense and Google+.

Summer and Google have their flaws. Sadly, there are a lot of people who only look at the flaws. Instead, we should look at the flaws and the big picture. Summer is a great time to relax and have fun. Summer symbolizes the end of school for 3 months and more vacation time.

Google is the difference between going to the library to look for information on a rainy day or being able to access the information you need on your computer while watching the rain fall. I do not know what it felt like to go to the library everyday to find information for a school project. I don’t want to go through that experience anytime soon, and Google prevents that from happening.

Something may not be working the way you wanted it to. Your guest post to a well-known blog could have been disapproved or you lost a lot of followers on one day. Do look at the flaws, but also look at the big picture.

If you were trying to submit a guest post, it means you had something such as a Twitter account or a blog to promote. If you lost a lot of followers on one day, it means you had a lot of followers, and going from 1,000 followers to 900 followers still means that you have 900 followers.

The big picture is a painting. The flaw is just a yellow dot on the painting. You get to choose how big you make that yellow dot.

Do you look at the flaws, the big picture, or both?

Ending On A Good Note

June 16, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

No matter where your business is heading whether it be up or down, everyday must be ended on a good note. Make some progress for your business by the end of the day or do something special. What we leave behind at the end of the day has the potential to reflect what we do the next day.

Ending on a good note will allow us to jump right back where we started on the next day. Ending on a bad note will make us hesitant to do our work the next day.

I recently took my last kick for my soccer team since I aged out. The last kick I took was a goal to the right corner of the goal.

The Descending Business

June 14, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

A business usually descends because of multiple factors. Less sales, fewer visitors, and less content are some of the reasons that businesses could be descending. When a business is descending, it means that the business plan doesn’t work anymore, no matter how long it has been used.

Don’t use the same methods for your business and expect different results each time. Selling a product will only result in so many sales. If the product is not marketed by you or someone else, the product will only be able to do what it is doing now.

The descending business is the business that continues to do what it has been doing for a long time. The tactics that made this business millions of dollars a decade ago could be hurting the business today. In order for the descending business to make a comeback, a lot of changes need to be made. If a business does not respond to its descend, the results can be devastating.

Calling Something A Priority

June 13, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

No matter how important something seems to be, there is always something that gets in the way. I am constantly working on my books over the summer, but things do get in the way of that. All of the things I do on a daily basis which are important as well take up some time. The movie that I saw yesterday also took up some time. The new game app on my phone took up some time as well.

The priorities are important, but other things that we do are also important. What we do every day no longer becomes a priority; it simply becomes a motion. Then there are the distractions that seem to take a toll on the time.

If you have a priority, make sure you have nothing else to do. If you are able to devote an entire day to your priority without doing anything else, it will become a true priority, not just a title given to something that needs to be done eventually.

It Was Time

June 11, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

I finally got a new iPhone case. The other iPhone case had been through a lot of wear and tear. The new iPhone case is an addition because it protects the iPhone and can withstand a lot of wear and tear.

Everyone knew it was time for me to get the new iPhone case. I just got the case and put it on my iPhone.

When everyone knows something, you have to weigh your options. Just because everyone is telling you to do something doesn’t mean you have to do it. However, if you think something needs to change and people agree with you, you need to make that change right away.

Not all changes are easy. The old iPhone case had a better design, but the new one does a better job at protecting the iPhone. There will be many decisions you will have to make for yourself and your business. Some decisions will be harder to make than others, but a delay in the decision making could lead to stagnated progress.
