Usefulness And The Use

September 13, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

When people make a decision about which product to buy or what to clean out, they are all focused on the usefulness. If the TV doesn’t work anymore, it isn’t useful anymore. It has to be removed. When the old TV gets removed, it’s time to get a new one. A wide screen plasma TV with HD pictures and great volume is useful.

A closet can be useful, but if the closet is a mess, it isn’t very useful. I cleaned my closet last week, and I have finally been able to learn about how useful a closet can actually be.

There are plenty of valuable books out there. There’s Contagious, The Power Of Habit, and others as well. They are very useful. They will help you out big time. Whether you want to go viral or have powerful habits, those books will help. They’re useful.

WordPress is useful. Google is useful. Social networks are useful.

What about the use? If someone actually buys the plasma TV with HD pictures and great volume, but that TV doesn’t get used, it isn’t useful. It’s worthless. If a clean closet doesn’t get used, it isn’t useful. If a book isn’t read, it isn’t useful because it wasn’t read in the first place.

There are many things that are useful, but they are only useful if they are actually used.

We Carve Out Our Own Fate

August 23, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Sometimes we may feel as if we have lost total control over our business. Simply put, we believe that fate will decide. Fate will steer our business in the direction it needs to be right now. Fate will save us.

The only way fate will save us is if we take steps to carving out our own fate. If we don’t carve out our own fate, we are not taking charge of our lives. In order to become successful and truly take charge, you need to start carving out your own fate.

There is no lucky horseshoe that some entrepreneurs get where they go from nothing at all to riches, virality (every time), and a bunch of products. The only way to get from Point A to Point B is to carve out your own fate.

Get your stone and chisel so you can carve out your fate. Do everything you need to do that will result in a good fate. A good fate is much better than a bad one.

The Mind Is Greatest

August 13, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

We’ve all heard of the expression that the pen is mightier than the sword. Some of us may recall the commercial where the man signs a piece of paper with a pen, takes out a weapon, and uses it against the ninja with the sword. The ninja with the sword loses.

The pen is a powerful tool. Many people stop at the pen is mightier than the sword. What many people overlook is that the mind is mightier than the pen. You need a good mind to use the pen to its fullest potential. Your mind control who you become.

You decide who you become by thinking of who you become. If you think of yourself becoming successful, you will become successful. If you think of yourself struggling, you will see yourself start to struggle.

Your mind makes all of your decisions. Your mind has made you into what you are. Your mind can give you a fresh start or a disastrous ending. You decide how to use your mind, but remember that the mind is greater than the pen.

You’ll Probably Share This Without Reading The Whole Thing

July 24, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Since you are looking at this blog post, you are probably reading it. Chances are you will skim through important parts that are in bold. That’s because when people read a blog post, less than 20% of those people end up reading the entire blog post.

People want to learn as much as they can in a shorter amount of time. When they do that, they sort of get the message and the content. As long as the title looks really good, the content supports the title, and there isn’t anything inappropriate, most people will share it without looking through the entire blog post.

Chances are when you share a blog post, you probably didn’t read the entire blog post. A strong title with a link does the trick in getting clicks and making you the next big thing for a little while. If you didn’t read the entire blog post, chances are that most of your followers won’t read the entire blog post either. They will probably skim through the content just like you did.

There is going to be a blog post about fascinating research. The only problem is that the blog post is the size of a book. This is when most people skim through the important stuff similar to Cliff Notes. You get an idea of what the blog post is about and share it with everyone else. As long as the content you read matches the title, it’s all good.

Did you read this entire blog post, or did you skim this post for the important details?

Everyone Detects Jibber Jabber

July 24, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Not everyone calls it jibber jabber. Some people call it fluff while other people call it by what it is: a waste of time.

Either way, everyone detects jibber jabber. There is a difference between writing words that flow and words that are just meant to take up space on a piece of paper. The jibber jabber makes the research paper bigger than it really is. That book over there suddenly gets an extra 20 pages just because of tons of jibber jabber.

We can all see jibber jabber, so why do some people still do jibber jabber? Our generation wants answers, not road blocks.

Why We Panic (And Quit)

July 21, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Every time someone panics, they make more decisions faster. At the rate these people are doing it, they could be making important business decisions in a matter of seconds. When people are making that many important decisions in a quick amount of time, they are going to make some bad decisions. Action does need to be taken, but don’t go after the quantity of your actions instead of the quality of your actions.

Another result of panic is complete stagnancy. People stare at their project for almost an hour before doing any of the work. Bigger projects become smaller projects and smaller projects become unfinished products.

When panic consumes someone, they will be tempted to quit. Even the most successful entrepreneurs talk about how they were so close to quitting. You will achieve success gradually. There is no overnight shortcut. Not even Mark Zuckerberg was an overnight success although he became successful much earlier than the average entrepreneur.

So what causes panic? There are two major reasons that result in us panicking. You can easily see what caused someone to panic based on what they are doing now.

The first reason people panic is because they overthink. I think of what I will be doing in the future. I see myself with books, membership sites, CDs, and so on. Although I recommend doing a 5 year plan and writing your future goals down, thinking about them too much won’t get any work done. There is a difference between thinking about your success and taking action to turn your success into a reality.

The people that overthink are the ones who simply stare at their projects for a long period of time before actually working. Multiple thoughts come up such as how the project is going to be amazing and how that person will be able to charge a lot of money for the finished product. They will think of their blog getting thousands of visitors a day, but in reality, their blog is only getting 10 visitors a week. Action needs to be taken.

The second reason people panic is because of time. Time can be cruel because time goes fast or slow depending on the individual and what that individual is doing. If you are watching paint dry, you will be counting the seconds. If you are doing something pleasurable such as hanging out with friends, time flies by.

The problem occurs when it’s midnight and no work has been done. In order to compensate for lost time, this person will do their work from midnight until their body can’t stay awake any longer. Then they get up too early to compensate even more. By that time, the person is so tired that every business decision isn’t important anymore. The person is just too tired to identify how important business decisions are. They rush with their decisions and their work to catch up with where they should have been.

That’s how panic comes around, what panic can do, and what ultimately leads many entrepreneurs to quit.
