Leaving The Dock And Why Ships Sink

There’s a lot of competition and danger in the seas. The dock is the safety zone. The sea is the place of opportunity. You can either leave the safety zone and go after success, or you can stay at the safety zone and never know what you could have done.

Choose to leave the dock and set sail. Greatness is at reach, but only if you prevent your ship from sinking. It will take a long time before you reach your destination. Ships that rely on wind for direction may take years to reach their destination. Although it takes a long time for these ships to reach their destinations, they will reach those destinations if they don’t sink.

The first reason ships sink is because it couldn’t withstand an attack. There are competitors that will be better and stronger than your ship’s crew. By outwitting the competition, you will prevent your ship from sinking.

Another reason ships sink is because a loss of purpose. If you keep on steering the ship to reach other destinations, the crew will get tired of staying at sea. They want to be successful just as much as you do. You can also lose your purpose and develop vengeance. If you develop a vengeance, a giant sperm whale will take down the entire ship, and survivors will have to wait for another ship of opportunity.

Another reason why ships sink is because water gets in. The water gets into the ship and makes it sink slowly. This problem can easily be fixed, but if the problem remains unattended for awhile, the ship is going to sink.

The ship sinking is what everyone fears. That’s why many people don’t leave the dock. Few go out to sea on a ship, but if they reach their other destination, they are successful in their quest.

Are you ready to leave the dock? You’ll reach your destination years later in one of those ships that only has sails. Wind is your fuel. Are you willing to go on that kind of ship to achieve success?

You’ll have to be willing to leave the dock to go from ordinary to extraordinary.

How To Make A Product That People Will Want To Buy

Everyone says go with the trend. If Instagram videos are a hot topic, people will want a book on that, right? That book will get more sales, but when Instagram videos just become the norm, you won’t get as many sales. If you create a book about Instagram videos a year or two after they were introduced, that book would get sales for a longer amount of time.

That toy everyone wants has something special to it. How about creating a replica. 3-D printing is making it easier to create replicas of stuff, but better yet, your own merchandise. They are getting cheaper, and Microsoft is coming up with a way to make 3-D printing as easy as pressing “Print” for a document. Maybe that’s the next big thing, and maybe that’s the market you should jump on.

When you have some free time, look into your ideas. See what kind of products you can create that will get a lot of sales. Maybe you can think of the next Facebook, if you’re really lucky. You can also think of the next multimillion dollar product. You can make something that everyone wants.

Maybe you just look at the competition and see what’s popular. People want to know a lot about making money online or how they can become healthier. Why not create products and books around those two things? A lot of people already buy products that help them make money online or become healthier.

How about selling something that is already doing well. iPhones are doing very well, and people will want to buy those. You didn’t make the iPhone, but you can still sell it anyway. People will come in and buy it. The only question is if they would buy it at an Apple Store which is the official source, or if they would buy from you. Someone will eventually come to you and buy the iPhone from you.

You can also ask your clients what they want to buy. Then, when you make a product, your clients will buy it. They will tell other people about the product, and you will get more sales out of it.

However, what if you didn’t get any clients yet or don’t know enough about the clients you already had? The third option, thinking of ideas and creating a business or product around some of those ideas is the winning sauce. Your ideas are unique, and if you create a product based on your idea, you will have a fun time doing so. You will be very productive as you finish the product.

When you start working on your product, it’s time to make people want to buy that product. The best way to get someone to buy your product is to talk about the product before it comes out. Talk about the product months before it comes out. People need to know about your product if they want to buy it.

Create videos for your products, and talk about them occasionally on your blog. In order to make a product that people will want to by, you have to tell them why your product is special. Does your book have something in it that the competition doesn’t want you to know or does your product have extra features compared to the competition.

What makes your product special? Tell people about it. A product can either be the greatest kept secret or a big success.

Talking VS Telling

It’s easy to tell people about your business just by typing words and putting sentences on your About Me page. You can proofread and edit your bio. You can tell people what you’re all about without talking to them. You may not know who views your About Me page, but they know who you are, right?

When you tell people about your business, you will get a lot of visitors going to your About Me page. People will want to know what you’re all about, and an About Me page the perfect way to get the job done.

Although telling people about your business is a way to get more sales, talking about your business is different. When you talk about your business, you have to be talking with another person, face to face. When you talk to others about your business, you are building strong connections. The people you talk to will become your biggest supporters and your top clients.

Marketers are going for a strong About Me page, but there is nothing better than actual human contact. Human contact is not tweeting or sending a text. Those are forms of communication. Human contact is when two or more people are actually engaging in a conversation in the same room. You’re giving a few people (or a couple of hundred people) your undivided attention.

When you tell people about your business, you aren’t going to meet them all. When you talk to people about your business, you get to meet them all. Some of those people will end up becoming your top clients.

Not Even Half Full

We’ve all looked into that bag of chips (or something else) and wondered if someone ate some of the chips before we opened the bag. There aren’t many left, and the bag was just opened.

All of the money spent on that bag of chips results in less than half of what you wanted. It’s a gamble that many people take. When you get a bag of chips with more than half of the bag empty, there are two choices you can make.

The first choice is to realize that it’s a rip off. Even if the chips taste really good, there’s going to be someone else who sells bags of chips with less empty space. There’s a better deal somewhere else with more chips in the bag.

The second choice is to eat the entire bag of chips and want more. The chips tasted so good that you want to buy another bag. Then again, that could also be your stomach growling because you didn’t eat enough chips. You open the bag of chips, and surprise, the bag is more than half empty. Now you have to make a choice all over again. Buy another bag of chips or look for someone else. After a while, it gets annoying.

When you sell your product, make sure it does everything you tell your clients it does. Don’t leave your clients stumped, and don’t give them something that is only half of what it should be. Then, your clients will go through the cycle of making choices about going for the full bag of chips or the bag of chips that is more than half empty.

If you could either get a full bag of chips or a bag of chips that is more than half empty, which one would you choose? Make sure you are giving your clients a full product.

The Things That Will Be

We control who we become. There is no limit to the greatness that anyone can achieve. Create your list of goals and do the work needed to get them done.

The things that will be are the things that we don’t know about yet. We have a vague idea, but not a complete one. That vague idea however can be very helpful.

One of the reason Steve Jobs was successful was because he was a visionary. He created products that suited people in the future. Apple is successful because of all of the time Steve Jobs put into the company. When the visionary was fired, Apple nearly went bankrupt. Few people know that it was Bill Gates who saved Apple from going bankrupt. When the visionary returned, Apple did very well.

At first, it would be cool to look into the future. However, it would quickly get scary. That’s why it’s a good thing we can only predict what will happen in the future.

We don’t just have to predict though. Our actions control who we become, and our actions also control who other people become.
