From Crawl To Leaps

October 23, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

I'm happy to see you around. You may want to subscribe to my blog. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome back! I am so happy to see that you have come back for more.

There’s a common characteristic among all successful entrepreneurs. They’re businesses and blogs started out as crawlers–the smallest results came in. Going from 1 visitor to 2 visitors was the best feeling for these people in the beginning.Getting one sale every month was the best thing that ever happened.

Now these people are taking giant leaps of success. Their products sell out. Their blogs get hundreds of visitors every day. They keep on seeing better results. The difference is no longer by one visitor. It’s by hundreds of visitors.

You may be crawling your way to a giant leap of traffic just like how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. You may not know when the big leap is coming, but it will come.

The Dangers Of Scheduling Tweets For A Long Period Of Time

October 22, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

If you schedule tweets for more than two weeks, there are some dangers that go along with that. I am a big believer in systematizing a business, and if I had 100 days of scheduled blog posts, I’d be okay with that. However, tweets are a different story.

Since news is constantly changing, tweets can become irrelevant if they aren’t tweeted in time. If you still have that tweet about the New York Giants falling to 0-1 this season, that tweet isn’t going to be relevant anymore since the Giants have been losing a lot.

Another danger of scheduling tweets always exists no matter how frequently you schedule your tweets. I wrote this blog post last Wednesday, and one of the trending topics on Twitter was #CSRChat. If today’s blog post was about the CSRChat, the trend would have been replaced by then. A majority of trends on Twitter end up becoming fads that don’t trend for long.

The final danger of scheduling tweets for the long-term is that a link loses its popularity. A link that is getting clicked 6 times a minute today won’t get those same number of clicks next week because that other article or news story took its place. We see something popular and then shift our eye to the next popular thing in a continuous cycle.

If you’re scheduling tweets, make sure you aren’t scheduling your tweets for a period of time that is too long. Your tweets have to be relevant when they are sent out in order to get the maximum engagement.

Preparing For The Launch

October 22, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

When is your next product coming out? The next question is when you’re going to tell people about that product.

Many businesses succeed because they tell their fans when they will be coming out with quality products. These people will tell their fans about a product months or even a year before it even comes out.

When you give the product enough time to get noticed, it starts to get more attention. By the time it has a lot of attention, people are waiting in a ginormous line to get that product.

Are you preparing enough for your product’s launch?

Are Your Goals Urgent?

October 21, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

The word goals can no longer stand alone and easily get accomplished. Now they have to be urgent. That’s why everyone’s scrambling all over the place as the year comes to an end. October is coming to a close, and then November will start off the last 8 weeks of the year (scary thought, isn’t it). I want you to pay attention to how much more work people are doing at this time. I want you to also pay attention to how much more work you’ll be doing at this time.

The last 8 weeks of the year create the urgency that we needed from the very beginning. Without this urgency, accomplishing goals becomes a lot more difficult.

You need to make all of your goals urgent in order to complete them faster. You need to feel the end of the year urgency throughout the year. You’re going to feel that urgency very soon, but I want you to carry that urgency into 2014 and keep it throughout the entire year. Don’t drop the urgency after January or February. Keep that urgency throughout the entire year so you will be able to accomplish more goals faster.

The 12 Week Year, Page 3

October 21, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

I recently got the book The 12 Week Year, and I’m almost done reading it. The first full sentence on page 3 is one of the most important sentences you will ever read.

“The marketplace only rewards those ideas that get implemented.”

I’ll be coming out with a YouTube video about The 12 Week Year soon enough, but here’s a brief review of the book:

The 12 Week Year, written by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington isn’t a book for you to get a good kickstart for 2014. This book kickstarts you for every 12 weeks. The problem with a year is that there is no sense of urgency. If you don’t get anything done in January, there’s always the other 11 months to catch up. This mentality will take most people past March, April, May, and so on without getting anything done. The 12 Week Year creates a sense of urgency for every week . After you read this book, you’ll find it much easier to successfully execute your ideas and thrive.

If you want to get more accomplished in a much shorter amount of time, The 12 Week Year is the perfect book for you.

Accomplish The Gruesome Tasks First

October 20, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Those are the tasks we worry about last. However, that worry builds, and as that worry builds, it affects our other work. Some gruesome tasks make every task look gruesome until it gets done.

The gruesome tasks need to be addressed first. It’s something that we all want to avoid, but all of the important tasks are unavoidable without bad consequences. It also feels really good once that gruesome task is completed. Then the other tasks are much easier.

There are going to be things that you will really want to do. There are also going to be things that you don’t want to do. Address the things that you don’t want to do first so you can have more time and enjoyment when you do the things that you do enjoy.
