Blogging Tip: Talk About A Problem That Your Targeted Readers Face

June 20, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Chances are you have wondered for a long time which blog posts get the most traffic. While some blog posts get hundreds of daily visitors (which add up to several thousand daily visitors for the main blog), other blog posts are getting visited once in a blue moon. There are certain types of blog posts that give you an edge, but a majority of popular blog posts are all related by one thing: they discuss a problem that their targeted readers face.

For this blog, my targeted readers are social media users, bloggers, and people who want to be more productive. I write blog posts that discuss problems that these people face such as finding more time in a given day, increasing a blog’s SEO, and getting more targeted followers on Twitter. These are the types of problems my targeted readers have, and I provide the answers to these problems with my blog posts.

The more popular and helpful a blog post is, the more times it is going to get shared across the social networks. It may take several months of writing helpful blog posts before they become popular, but when they become popular, you will see the big increase in traffic that you have always dreamed of.

This is one simple way to write better blog posts and get more people to share those blog posts at the same time. What are your thoughts on this blogging tips? Do you have any additional tips on optimizing this part of writing a blog post? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

Are You Blogging For The Right Reasons?

November 27, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Blogging has been revealed as a way of increasing traffic, making sales, getting more followers, placing the ad units, and so on. However, those are not the right reasons to blog.

The primary reason you should be blogging is because you like to write and you like what you write about. In the beginning, any new blog will struggle to a certain degree to get the traffic, sales, followers, and advertising money. The people who blog just for the traffic, sales, followers, and advertising money will quickly be disappointed when their blogs don’t do well in the beginning.

These people don’t stick with blogging because they quickly realize it will take a long time before their blog becomes the next big thing. If you are writing blog post after blog post because you love what you do, then the traffic, sales, followers, and advertising money (if you really want to put ads on your blog) will come a byproducts.

Don’t blog for the fame. After you blog long enough, you do get the fame, but don’t just write blog posts for the fame. Love what you do because you’re going to be doing what you do for a long time.

Every Blogger Needs To See This Picture

Why Bloggers Give Up Traffic Graph

Blogging can get rough at times. After constantly writing blog post after blog post, the same number of visitors come (or at times, less visitors come). However, there is a gold mine waiting to be discovered. That gold mine is your blog. Don’t take your eye off the prize, and do the consistent work that will allow you to receive that prize.

Going After Sales On A Blog

September 8, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Is the wrong approach.

Going after subscribers is the right approach.

The subscribers are more likely to remember who you are since you provide free content.

Not all of them will, but some will tell their friends about your blog.

Your subscriber count goes up.

You offer something for free to your subscribers.

Your subscriber count goes even higher.

Soon you have thousands of subscribers.

Let’s say you get 5,000 subscribers and only 10% of those people buy your product. That’s 500 sales!

Now let’s say you had 100,000 subscribers and only 10% of those people buy your product. That’s 10,000 sales!

Even if you got a sale by going after the sale, you won’t get a returning customer. They’ll forget about your blog and look at a similar one.

You don’t get sales by going after the sale. You wait for your subscribers to look at enough of your content until they decide what you’re selling is actually worth buying.

People Forget

September 3, 2013 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Remember that time when you had nothing to do for an entire day and nothing was on your agenda. Probably not.

People are very busy, and since we are all busy, we tend to forget some things. Some things get in the way of business. Less business time means more forgetting. Some entrepreneurs are famous for forgetting.

Every successful blog have one thing in common: they have a boatload of subscribers. In fact, all of their subscribers can’t even fit on a boat. They would need 2 or 3 boats. That’s how many subscribers they have.

Social Media Examiner, Seth Godin’s blog, Jeff Bullas’ blog all have hundreds of thousands of subscribers. They also have over 100,000 followers on Twitter. People don’t forget about blogs like those because they see great content, and subscribing is easy. Social Media Examiner’s subscription box couldn’t be any bigger although that’s an advantage. Social Media Examiner and Jeff Bullas offer free products to anyone who subscribes to their blog.

Seth Godin doesn’t provide a free product to people right when they subscribe to his blog. However, he gives away a lot of freebies which can be found on his official website (not the blog).

People forget. If you want to be remembered, you have to give people a reason to remember you. In order to have a successful blog people will remember, you have to get those subscriptions. Those subscriptions will allow you to email your subscribers automatically when one of your new blog posts comes out.

People forget. Your mission isn’t only to make them remember. Your mission is to make them want to remember.

You Have Only 2 Seconds

September 2, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

To impress someone.

To turn someone into a client.

To keep someone interested.

To make someone want to look at your content.

To hit the follow button.

To get someone’s attention.

To get a subscriber.

To add to the conversation before someone beats you to it.

To make a decisive decision.

It seems like we have all of the time in the world, but we have all become impatient. When it took 5 seconds for Google to load, who got annoyed? I did, and many other did as well. Most of the time, Google appears less than a second after you type it in and press enter. When it takes even 5 seconds, we become impatient.

The typical consumer is searching for a lot of information. They may visit, not be impressed, and in 2 seconds, hit the back button. Even if the title of your blog post appears, and the consumer wants to read more based on the title, they already clicked the back button.

We want more things faster. Imagine it took 10 seconds for someone’s blog to load. It would be like the end of the world. You only get 2 seconds to impress someone so they stay on board. If your blog takes too long to load, you lose those 2 seconds. When someone visits your blog, your 2 seconds start right then.

Want to do something scary? Have your phone next to your computer. After your blog loads, put the stopwatch on. When the stopwatch hits 2 seconds, don’t scroll up or down. Look at your blog and decide whether you need to make some changes or keep it the way it is. You only get 2 seconds. If you like what you see, the visitor will like what they see and continue reading your blog.
