Why You Need To Be On Twitter

April 30, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Twitter Egg

If you are not on Twitter, then you need to get on right away. Twitter has allowed small business owners, authors, entrepreneurs, and others to interact with customers on a large scale. Twitter’s character limitations make the giant social network simpler to understand than other social networks.

One of Twitter’s big features is the ability to create lists. You can use lists on Twitter to read tweets from desired users. You can put all of your customers on one list, and you can put all of your sources on another list. You have the choice to make your individual lists public or private. Many small business owners, entrepreneurs, and others use this feature to connect with customers at a faster rate and learn more about their niche.

In addition, Twitter will allow you to build connections who you do not know yet. I have been privileged with the ability to make thousands of new connections just from Twitter. The people I connect with on Twitter are eager to join in on conversations and share my content.

Twitter has allowed many people to put the “social” back into their businesses. In a world where there are too many automated telephone messages to count, the customer greatly appreciates it when they have a conversation with another person. Instead of listening to, “If you would like to schedule an appointment, press 1,” your customers will be able to read, “Let’s get a date for that appointment!”

Twitter is a powerful way to build your presence on the web. I have written multiple case studies about how Twitter has helped this blog, and I will write more as well. Most of the people who visit this blog came from Twitter. By sticking with Twitter and growing a strong presence on that social network, it will eventually be able to drive hundreds of daily visitors to your blog (then thousands).

There may be some people reading this blog post who have no interest in using Twitter for business. However, anyone can use Twitter to get real-time news. Twitter’s trending topics allow people to stay up to date with what is happening in the world. In addition, you can see what people in the world think and say about important events.

There are several other reasons to use Twitter as well, but know that if you do not have a Twitter account yet, you should get one as soon as possible.

4 Ways To Get More Engagement On Twitter

March 17, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

If you want to get the best out of Twitter, you need to engage with your followers. Many people on Twitter miss this step because the believe of big numbers prevails too often. Increasing engagement on Twitter will allow you to have more conversations with your followers. Having more conversations often results in making more connections. The connections you make can result in a sale, a retweet, or free PR. Now that you know why getting more engagement on Twitter is important, these are the 4 ways to get more engagement on Twitter.

  1. Ask questions. Asking questions is an opinion based strategy that encourages more response. When you ask the question, ask questions that you actually have. Do not ask questions just because I told you to ask them. I am actively reading books, and I wanted to add books to my reading list. That’s why I decided to ask my followers what their favorite books are. Because of the tweet I sent, I ended up adding over 10 books to my reading list that day. In addition, I got to interact with my followers and tell them about books I have read before.
  2. Tweet with pictures. It is a proven fact that tweets with pictures get more engagement than tweets without pictures. With Twitter’s preview feature, pictures get more attention. For good pictures with a meaningful tweet, the added attention results in more engagement than normal. The pictures I tweet usually see four times as many retweets and favorites as my other tweets.
  3. Host a giveaway. On Twitter, baseball fans had to decide who the Face of MLB is. On one of the days, David Wright came up, and fans tweeted with #DavidWright for a while. While the tweeting was taking place, Jay Horwitz decided to have giveaways where fans could meet David Wright, get a signed baseball, and do batting practice with the Mets. Jay Horwitz ended up getting more than a thousand retweets that day which was a lot more than normal for him.
  4. Share tweets people would want to remark on. A tweet that looks like spam is not going to get a lot of engagement. A tweet that reveals something incredible such as where the universe ends, how aliens have been colonizing on Mars for 10,000 years……or just a useful tip, that tweet will get more engagement. Although we do not necessarily know where (or if) the universe ends and aliens have not been colonizing on Mars for 10,000 years, it is important to tweet incredible (but true) tweets. By sending out incredible tweets, more people will be likely to remark (engage) on your tweet.

Those are four ways to get more engagement on Twitter. What did you think about these tips? In addition, do you have any other tips that you use to increase engagement on Twitter? Please share your thoughts and insights below.

How To Turn Twitter Followers Into Loyal Customers

January 10, 2014 by Marc Guberti 4 Comments

loyalty

In order to get your followers to buy your products, you need to talk with them on, but also off of Twitter. You will not be able to apply this method with all of your followers, but iff you can apply this method to 100 people, you already have an edge on the competition.

There are buyers. Then there are guaranteed buyers. The guaranteed buyers are the loyal ones who buy all of your products based on a certain niche. The guaranteed buyers are going to be the Twitter followers who you build strong friendships with.

Here’s how to do that:

  1. Decide who you want as loyal customers. These people should be the ones who have a strong interest in your niche. Anyone with a big following is a nice bonus.
  2. Get the person to notice you. Share the person’s blog posts while mentioning them with the @ sign. When you do that, the person you mention gets an email telling them that you mentioned them, and when they look through their feed of mentions, they will find you.
  3. Respond quickly. The person will thank you for mentioning them and their blog. Quickly respond by telling the person that their blog post motivated/helped you with something. Continue to quickly respond, and you will have a long conversation with this person.
  4. Talk with the person off Twitter. As you continue to talk with the person on Twitter, eventually ask to exchange emails. When you exchange emails, you will be able to contact the person with over 140 characters, but having the extra characters is not the important part. Since the person just gave you his/her email, that person trusts you now.
  5. Have a call to action in your email signature telling them to subscribe to your blog. This call to action will allow you to get another subscriber. Even when the person subscribes to your blog, continue to contact and talk with that person. By continuously talking with this person, that person will eventually become a guaranteed buyer.
  6. Repeat the process for other people. The more guaranteed buyers you have, the more money you are going to make. An author only needs about 1,000 guaranteed buyers in order to hit the Top 100 in Kindle Sales.

This will take a lot of time. In order to get the best results from this tactic, you should apply this method to 10 people every week. Imagine how different your business would be if you had 100 guaranteed buyers, or over 1,000 guaranteed buyers.
