3 Reasons Why You Need A Business Buddy

May 17, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Business Teamwork

Many entrepreneurs believe that going solo is the best approach towards being successful. When working alone, an entrepreneur has more power over their business and gets to implement all of the ideas that he/she wants to implement. Although there are several advantages associated with going solo, every entrepreneur needs to have a business buddy. Whether your business buddy is a friend, a colleague in another niche, or someone who owns half of the company, having a business buddy is very important towards the growth of your business. These are the 3 reasons why you need a business buddy:

  1. You will encourage each other to work harder. If you and your business buddy work side by side, you will encourage each other to work harder. You would not want to take your break if your business buddy was still working, and your business buddy would not take a break if you were still working. As a result, both of you will be more productive.
  2. Ideas get enhanced. Maybe you are trying to think of how you can implement your idea or some ways to make your idea better. Your business buddy may know a method to make your idea better. You can do one to one brainstorming with your business buddy, and one to one brainstorming is the best version of brainstorming available.
  3. You get more referred customers. If your business buddy knows a lot about architecture and you are a blogging expert, you can exchange connections. If someone who comments on your blog is looking for an architect, you can tell them about your business buddy. If one of your business buddy’s clients needs help with blogging, then your business buddy will refer that client to you.

Although going solo is the easier approach, it is better over the long-term to have a business buddy who you can exchange ideas with and help each other out. Having a business buddy will allow you to get more connections and be more productive at the work place. If you know multiple people who qualify, you can have multiple business buddies and meet with one of those people every time you work. Who is your business buddy? If you do not have a business buddy yet, do you plan on getting one? Please share your thoughts below.

The Magnificent Power Of Asking

April 20, 2014 by Marc Guberti 13 Comments

Just Ask

One of the most underrated but powerful ways to grow your business and get more sales is asking. There is no harm with asking. If you ask a blogger to promote your book, the worst thing that can happen is that the blogger says no. If the blogger says yes, then one more person is promoting your book. Your book gets a backlink and extra sales.

Asking can lead to better business opportunities. Every time someone sends a pitch to reporter’s query on HARO, they are asking if they fit the story. The worst thing that happens is that the reporter rejects the story. The best thing that can happen is that the reporter takes your story, asks you for more information, and then publishes your story. That’s how I got featured on the US News.

One of the people who I interviewed for Lead The Stampede was Dan Nainan, the world-renowned comedian. I knew I would include Dan in Lead The Stampede whether he followed me on Twitter or not, but I decided to ask him if he could follow me on Twitter. I worded my request in the right way (I was not begging), and he ended up following me. Dan has over 400,000 people and he only follows 40 people. I am one of those 40 people only because I decided to ask Dan if he would like to follow me on Twitter.

What are some of the things you can ask? Ask the questions that you are afraid to ask. By asking these kinds of questions, you are showing an interest in what you do and getting the desired result. If you can ask a question in a way that does not look like begging, you can get the result you want many times.

Finding The Right Methods Of Growth

November 3, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

If we all knew the right methods of growing a business, we would all be very successful. When we begin our businesses, we don’t know the right methods. In order to be successful, you will have to go through numerous experiments (not the ones where you dissect frogs) until you find the right methods to grow your business.

There are going to be some good days and some bad days. However, the good days are the ones you can replicate. There were methods you used in that good day that you can use again to produce more days that are just as good if not better.

I went from gaining 20 Twitter followers every day to gaining over 100 followers every day. This was not an on-off switch. I had to experiment with many possibilities before this happened. When you find a method that works once, it is going to work again and again. The methods I use today to get hundreds of Twitter followers are the same ones I have been using for months.

As you continue to experiment with different possibilities, you will learn the right methods and the wrong methods. When you find the right methods, continue using them and eventually find ways to enhance them.
