Did You Notice This New, Colossal Twitter Update?

November 6, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Twitter came out with a new update last week, and it’s not big. It’s colossal. You may have seen it on your timeline. You may have used it yourself. Whether you’ve heard of it or not, it’s colossal.

The days of clicking pic.twitter.com to see pictures are over. Any picture posted on Twitter becomes part of the tweet. This will allow more people to see your pictures faster. Some people don’t have the patience to constantly click the pic.twitter.com link. However, this new update allows the patient and the impatient to see your pictures.

This update provides convenience because it removes a step for your followers. That means more retweets, more favorited tweets, and more followers.

This update is also colossal for the people who pay for promoted tweets. Tweets with pictures now take up more space on the timeline. A picture will allow an advertiser to get more space on someone’s timeline. This will result in more people looking at the tweet and a better ROI for the advertiser.

Pictures are now a lot easier to view. The next update may make it easier to view videos. Whether Twitter has more updates like this or not, Twitter is taking steps towards convenience which are going to help all of us big time.

5 Proven Methods To Get More Retweets On Twitter

November 3, 2013 by Marc Guberti 7 Comments

Twitter is a powerful social network, and retweets are an important factor towards how well you do on Twitter. Although it helps, you don’t need a giant following in order to get more retweets. You can get more retweets with under 100 followers. These are the 5 proven methods to get more retweets on Twitter:

  1. Add good pictures because they make a difference. If you average 1 retweet per tweet, the picture is going to get you 5 or more retweets if it’s really good.
  2. Tweet inspirational quotes. When I first started on Twitter, I wasn’t getting retweets for any of the blog posts (including ones not on this blog) I tweeted about. The tweets that were getting retweeted were the inspirational quotes. Now I send out 4 inspirational quotes every day, and a majority of those tweets get retweeted as well.
  3. If you decide you need to build a following in order to get more retweets, make sure your followers are interested in what you tweet about. Twellow is a great Twitter directory which breaks down its millions of members into different categories. You can find all of the social media experts, sports fans, and anyone else you would like to find. If those people are interested in what you tweet about, they are very likely to retweet what you tweet as well.
  4. #Use #Hashtags because they have been proven to get more retweets. These statistics provided by HubSpot prove my point. However, it’s important that you don’t use too many hashtags in a single tweet. My recommendation is to never go over two hashtags in a tweet.
  5. Tweet consistently because people need to see you. The more people see you, the more they will trust you. If you have one of Apple’s products, you probably bought it because you’ve seen Apple a lot. You’ve seen them in the commercials and their retail stores (which always seem to be crowded). When people see you on your timeline a lot, you are more likely to get retweeted because that trust grows.

Where To Buy Real Followers

November 1, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

It seems as if there are more services promoting fake followers. Let’s not forget to mention spam accounts on social networks that claim you can get “1,000 followerz” with their secret method (even though they usually have under 500 followers). These services are tainting what it means to buy followers. There are some services that do what they’re supposed to do: give you real followers.

There are three services that I am going to talk about. I use them all alongside methods that constantly work (following back, posting consistently, etc).

Twiends is a free service that allows you to get more Twitter and Instagram followers although in my opinion, they do a better job with increasing the number of Twitter followers. In Twiends, you use seeds (their currency) to get more followers. There are also paid option in which you can get more seeds or featured for a day. I am going to try the Featured Slot for a day very soon, and I will tell you how it goes. Some people have reported getting 2,000 followers from this option.

PinWoot is exclusively for Pinterest. Just like Twiends, PinWoot’s currency is seeds which you can get for free by following others, referring people to PinWoot, repinning, and liking other people’s pins. With PinWoot, you can do all of the following if you have enough seeds:

  1. Get more followers
  2. Get more repins
  3. Get more likes
  4. Schedule pins
  5. And anything else they feel like adding

You can buy seeds on PinWoot as well. There aren’t any featured options, but there are plenty of deals available. Although PinWoot’s prices are a bit higher than Twiends, PinWoot gives you more options than Twiends. PinWoot also takes spam and unfollowing very seriously and terminates accounts who get caught.

YouLikeHits is another service that will allow you to get more followers on a variety of social networks. Out of all three of these services, YouLikeHits provides the most options. They have options for every major social network except Facebook. There will be some accounts that follow you and only have 1 tweet, but for the most part, YouLikeHits will give you a quantity of followers. I mainly use YouLikeHits for Pinterest, but I sometimes use them for YouTube.

YouLikeHits gives you the most options and the highest amount of followers for your money. PinWoot gives you the top quality Pinterest followers who are unlikely to follow you. Many of the followers I get from PinWoot commonly repin my pins. Twiends allows you to control how many followers you can gain every day if you purchase a package of seeds. However, if you get featured for a day on Twiends, you will get about two thousand real followers in 24 hours which is the fastest of the three services.

UPDATE: Not all followers from YouLikeHits are real, but by getting more followers, you will be able to follow back more people while keeping a good follower to following ratio. In addition, the real followers you get from YouLikeHits have the potential to interact with you.

Trust Comes From Being Seen Frequently

November 1, 2013 by Marc Guberti 6 Comments

We buy from the most trusted brands we can find. Every brand competes for our trust because it is our trust that translates into consumers and sales. If you want to get your consumers’ trust, you need to show up a bunch of times.

The person who is very trustworthy is a best friend. One of the reasons a best friend is very trustworthy is because you see that friend a lot. The more we see someone, the more we will trust in them. You are going to see your best friend a lot, and thus the trust you have in each other grows.

In order to create a trustworthy brand, people have to see your brand a lot. This is when people are quick to go to advertising. People will see who you are, but they’re forced to see who you are. Consumers can’t control which advertisements come up on a website or on a channel, and they’re preoccupied with something else: reading the article or watching the show.

Social media is a different kind of advertising that is very effective. However, people have to see you frequently in order for your social media strategy to be effective. You’ve been taught that posting on your social networks consistently is essential, but you weren’t given a reason why. This is the reason. By updating your social networks consistently, more people get to see you more often. As more people see you, they start to trust you. They take a look at your profile, and your posts, and your blog, and your blog posts, and your product.

All of this happens once you are seen frequently. Be seen so you can see the results come in abundance.

The Dangers Of Scheduling Tweets For A Long Period Of Time

October 22, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

If you schedule tweets for more than two weeks, there are some dangers that go along with that. I am a big believer in systematizing a business, and if I had 100 days of scheduled blog posts, I’d be okay with that. However, tweets are a different story.

Since news is constantly changing, tweets can become irrelevant if they aren’t tweeted in time. If you still have that tweet about the New York Giants falling to 0-1 this season, that tweet isn’t going to be relevant anymore since the Giants have been losing a lot.

Another danger of scheduling tweets always exists no matter how frequently you schedule your tweets. I wrote this blog post last Wednesday, and one of the trending topics on Twitter was #CSRChat. If today’s blog post was about the CSRChat, the trend would have been replaced by then. A majority of trends on Twitter end up becoming fads that don’t trend for long.

The final danger of scheduling tweets for the long-term is that a link loses its popularity. A link that is getting clicked 6 times a minute today won’t get those same number of clicks next week because that other article or news story took its place. We see something popular and then shift our eye to the next popular thing in a continuous cycle.

If you’re scheduling tweets, make sure you aren’t scheduling your tweets for a period of time that is too long. Your tweets have to be relevant when they are sent out in order to get the maximum engagement.

Three Characteristics That Make Up The Perfect Tweet

October 16, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Not all tweets are created equal. Some tweets get more retweets and interaction than other tweets. The retweets and interaction have a lot to do with enough people actually seeing the tweet. However, creating the perfect tweet is possible. However, the perfect tweet differs for each Twitter user.

The perfect tweet can mean taking advantage of a trending topic and say something humorous about that trending topic. The perfect tweet could be a link to a great blog post. There are different ways to tweet the perfect tweet, but there are three characteristic that all perfect tweets have.

The first characteristic of a perfect tweet is that people need to be interested in the topic you tweet about. The news stories get retweeted because many people want to know about what’s going on. A poorly done Vine video won’t get a lot of attention. However, you can’t tweet for everyone. There are a lot of social media enthusiasts, but if you tweet about social media, there is a real possibility that someone you’re tweeting out to isn’t a social media enthusiast. As long as you get attention from a majority of your followers, you’re tweet is going to get retweeted a lot.

The second characteristic of a perfect tweet is that your tweet must be easy to understand. Stuffing a tweet with hashtags makes the tweet more difficult to understand. A tweet with typos is going to be difficult to understand as well. If someone gets confused when they read a tweet, that tweet is not a perfect tweet. If one person gets confused by a tweet, chances are other people will be confused by that tweet as well.

The third characteristic of a perfect tweet is that the tweeter or one of the first people to retweet that tweet is very popular. Some people are going to disagree with this third characteristic since popularity doesn’t decide how good a tweet is written. A perfect tweet is one that is a tweet of quality and a tweet that gets shared a lot. The perfect tweet cannot be the greatest secret. If it were a secret, it wouldn’t be perfect. Popularity will result in more retweets, and more retweets will result in more people knowing about you.

It’s very important that you don’t view popularity as being the big guy with 100,000 followers. You can be popular with only 500 followers that read every tweet you send out and retweet as many of your tweets as they can. When it comes to popularity, it isn’t a quantity game. It’s a quality game.

Those are the three characteristics that make up a perfect tweet. Think about these characteristics as you send out or schedule your tweets today so you can end up with the next perfect tweet.
