Fantasy World

February 9, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

We can always see ourselves becoming millionaires, the best athlete, or anything else we strive to become. Sometimes, we think about our future too much. Thinking 10 years into the future is good if you see yourself in a really good position, but you don’t get into that really good position without putting in a lot of work. No one becomes the top athlete without a lot of practice and struggles.

I see myself eventually making over 1k a month online, but I cannot get there just by thinking of it. I have to put in a lot of work because success only comes to you once you go to it. We must think about our future success, but we must do what we can right now to get there.

10,000 Words

February 8, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

I am happy to say that my 81st post will add up to a total of over 10,000 words on my blog (all of my posts combined). Milestones such as this cannot be over looked. Every so often, it is necessary to take a small break from your business and look at what you have accomplished. The main goal for your business is to be better than you left off. My Squidoo earnings get larger and larger. I do take some breaks from Squidoo to take a look at what I have accomplished, I also find ways that I can make myself even better. That means getting more sales on some of my other Squidoo lenses and promoting them even more. I will not stop at 10,000 words, but instead I will keep on going to 20,000 words and so on which will eventually get me to over 100,000 words on this blog. All of my blogs and Squidoo lenses combined most likely have over 100,000 words, and I am happy to continue writing to everyone.

Just a year ago, I wouldn’t be happy if my teacher assigned me a 250 word essay. Now I am writing thousands of words online which will soon reach millions of words. I would have never thought a year later I would be writing over 250 words every single night. The work was definitely hard, but when I got the results (such as nice comments, sales, etc.), I found a new appreciation for writing. I have been doing it ever since whenever I am creating a new Squidoo lens, updating an old one, creating a blog post (and then publishing it), making a bio, or tweeting out messages.

When I look at a leader, I like it when the leader does what he believes. In this blog post, I took a break from my business and saw what I have accomplished so far. Now that I can see what I have accomplished, I can look to go even farther and take my business to the next level. Is it necessary to look back at your milestones? Yes it is! A business that does not look back at its past success will feel as if it accomplished nothing even if that same business has had a positive impact on many people’s lives.

I look at my 10,000 word milestone and say, “It’s good, I’m happy, and I’m going to do even bigger things!”

Start Strong

February 7, 2013 by Marc Guberti 1 Comment

I read somewhere that when the human body tends to run long distance, it tends to slow down later on no matter what your pace is for the first lap or two. That means starting off too slow will result in you compensating and losing a lot of speed. A bad start like that could ruin any athlete’s running time. If you start with a really good pace, that pace will deteriorate as you run more distance without stopping, but you’ll still get a better time than if you had a bad start. Your start sets the standards for your business, and it is important to have a strong start so that in the long run, everyone marvels at what you have accomplished in a short amount of time.

Have Everything Scheduled

February 6, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

By having your work scheduled, you can look at your mistakes and polish your posts before they are published. Being able to schedule your work days in advance allow you to create more thoughtful posts instead of last minute posts which results in a rushed post. I have my posts scheduled so that I can polish them up before they are published.

Why Be An Amazon Associate?

February 5, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Having a blog is always great, but when you’re not making revenue, the work required to keep that blog updated can bring out a lot of frustration. This is when most people turn to advertisements on their blog. I do have Google Ads on my Squidoo lenses, and I even thought of putting various ads up on my blogs. When I became an Amazon Associate though, any thought I ever had involving putting someone else’s ads on my blog simply disappeared.

Applying to be an Amazon Associate is easy, and you can get started here. I was able to put Amazon Products on my blog right when I applied. I was approved, and now many of my blogs have Amazon Links. You can see two examples here (Yugioh Philosophy) and here (The Lego Station).

As an Amazon Associate, you can talk about your hobbies, sell products, and not have to think about advertisements. Advertisements can be irrevelent, and they ultimately take people away from your website.

A Victim Of Plagiarisim

February 4, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

There is few things worse than finding your work on someone else’s website. I can say from first-hand experience that plagiarism is no good and results in a lot of angry people (who could blame them). I am a proud lensmaster on Squidoo where great content is published. Sadly, there are people who think plagiarism will lead to quick success. There was recently a website that copied EVERY lens published on Squidoo. My lenses about making money with legos, lego animations (which won the Lens of the Day award), and Lego Station lens were only 3 of the many lenses that had their content duplicated and displayed on another website. There was a lot of buzz in the SquidooHQ Forum about this issue. Squidoo was able to prevail once again and now all of the copied content has been taken down.

There is no victor when content is plagiarized. The real content will lose traffic because the plagiarized content steals some of the views. The person who is plagiarized loses traffic which results in lost sales and revenue. The person who does the plagiarizing will be caught and forced to close their website. Their character is completely tainted.

My content has made me thousands of dollars, and to see it somewhere else can result in a scare. If plagiarized content wasn’t taken down, I would have lost a lot of visitors. Being a victim of plagiarism can turn any good day into a bad day especially when thousands of words formed into hundreds of sentences are plagiarized.

To be a victim can change your whole perspective over the issue. Just 2 years ago, I didn’t have any content online. Now that I have tons of content online, I am grateful for my work, but disguisted when someone dares to take my work and call it their own.
