The soccer game was tied up at 4, I had the ball, and I was running to the center. I was a striker, and my prime objective was to get the soccer ball into the other team’s goal. I had done cross country for my high school which gave me a speed advantage against everyone else. I was dribbling the ball, and as I approached the goalie, there were no defenders on me, and I took my shot. I hit the ball high and soft over the goalie’s head, but not every shot goes in. That shot hit the crossbar and slowly bounced away from the goal. This was a major turning point in the game. The game was tied at 4, and I missed that shot. However, I knew that my team was depending on me, and since the ball was still in play, I couldn’t give up. I ran right to the ball. With my back to the goal and the ball bouncing away, there was only 1 soccer move I could do if I wanted that goal, the bicycle kick. I jumped in the air, lifted my foot, made contact with the ball, and fell on the ground. I rotated my body on the ground to see what the result was. I saw the soccer ball go right into the goal, and now my team was leading 5-4. The crowd was deafening.
The game was tied up at 4, and my bicycle kick broke the tie. If I gave up after seeing my first shot hit the crossbar, that memorable moment would have never happened. I wanted that goal for my team, and when I saw opposition, I surpassed it and made what people told me was one of the best goals of the year. Many entrepreneurs try to make money online or create a project, but some of them give up too early. I want to encourage you not to give up and finish what you started because it can lead to great results.
