Give Yourself Deadlines

July 6, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

We all do better with a deadline, but how about giving yourself multiple deadlines at the same time? Giving yourself a lot of deadlines will make you do more of your work faster. In order to publish 1 book every month, I am working on a majority of the books over the summer so I won’t have to work on as many of them when school starts.

I created a list of books that I needed to get done over the summer. Then I created a deadline for when each book should be done. Book A has to be done this week and Book B has to be done within 2 weeks. I’ll have those books done before school starts, and I’ll have to work on some of my books throughout the year.

I always do better when I give myself a deadline. Deadlines force me to get more of my work done faster. There is no more sitting on the couch and watching TV.

Give yourself deadlines to do your work. This is your time!

Did You Check Your Statistics Today?

July 2, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Chances are…you did. If you didn’t check them already, you’re probably going to check them later today. There are more statistics for us to check such as blog traffic or number of Twitter followers. Checking the statistics is just as bad as checking the inbox: we can’t get out of it.

I check statistics 10 times every day. When I think I am done for the day, I check the statistics of something I ignored or didn’t even know I had. I check the statistics more than I check my email.

There is no way that I am alone. Statistics are used by a lot of people to track the growth of their business, blog, product, and so on. Statistics store information years back, and we can easily access it.

Statistics are valuable to our business, but looking at statistics for too long can stunt business growth.

There Is No Reason To Overwork

June 27, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

There are a lot of people who overwork to get what they want. Some people are putting in 15 hours a day to keep their businesses alive. Revenue could be pouring in, or there could be no revenue pouring in.

If you find yourself spending 15 hours a day on your business and making little revenue for yourself, you need to change the way you work. We are creatures of habit, and change can be annoying as I described in my post about dramatic changes.

However, those changes will have to happen. Cut off some hours you work by addressing how you waste your time working. Talking to the same person who doesn’t care for your business is unproductive.

There are plenty of things that you are doing wrong if you are working for 15 hours a day without getting much revenue. Overworking also prevents you from doing more important things such as growing your business.

Using The Paper Airplane Productively

June 25, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Creating paper airplanes can be a productive way to use paper. You can put messages on paper airplanes and throw them to friends. Depending on how you use a paper airplane, it can be very productive.

However, they are not seen as productive by everyone. The main reason why people use paper airplanes is to fool around in a classroom. Those paper airplanes are taken and tossed into the trash.

There are videos that show you how you can make a paper airplane always go straight or curve. A paper airplane can be thrown to someone else like a football. However, in that paper airplane could be information about something.

The paper airplane is usually seen as an unproductive source of fooling around. However, if no one has a football to play with, or someone wants to get a notice faster, paper airplanes can be helpful.

What most entrepreneurs wouldn’t dare to try are the very things that the few attempt to do.

The End Of Procrastination

March 29, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

No one can help anyone get out of the bad habit of procrastination. They can advise ways to get out of procrastination, but it is up to the procrastinator to change his habits. There are many people who procrastinate, and then the perfect day for productivity turns into another wasted day. I want to share with you some methods that I use to prevent myself from procrastinating so that you procrastinate less as well.

  1. Write down your goals and make a schedule for when each goal should be accomplished.
  2. Think about where you will be if you don’t procrastinate for a day.
  3. Take very small breaks. My breaks are only 5 minutes long when I have to do something important for my business.
  4. Stay away from the TV or surfing the internet. Those two devices can take away a lot of time.
  5. Make what you do fun. You’ll want to do it more.

Can’t Wait For Easter Break

March 27, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Since this is a scheduled blog post, I am still in school for the moment. However, when the school day is over, I get a week and a half break. While I will enjoy all of those days off, I have created a list of goals for myself to complete. One of my notable goals is to add more pages (pages and posts are different) to this blog. This will mean more content. One of my plans is to add a page with a list of inspirational quotes and small explanations for each. I am open to suggestions, and I look forward to adding even more content to this blog over the break.
