5 Reasons To Break Up With Bad Clients

May 16, 2014 by Marc Guberti 10 Comments

Difficult Client

Many people make the mistake of focusing on gaining clients instead of focusing on the most important clients. These people believe that they can change every client so that every client becomes a quality client. The problem is that the process takes too much time, and in the end, the client never changes. Ever. Instead of trying to make all of your clients happy, only focus on the clients who are the most important ones you have. Here is why you need to do that.

  1. Breaking up with bad clients will save you oodles of time. Imagine the amount of time it takes to write reports and talk to the client. That can take up several hours every week. Imagine how much time you would save if you could break up with 5 bad clients.
  2. You can focus more of your time on the good ones. Now that you have more time, your conversations with the good clients can get longer, and you can provide more insight in your reports. Focusing on your good clients allows you to treat them like VIPs. Giving them the VIP treatment will encourage them to do more business with you in the future.
  3. Bad clients will not refer you, but the good ones will refer you. In addition to saving more time, you are able to spend more time with the clients who are more likely to refer you to their friends. The good clients are the ones who tell others about what you do. Those are the kinds of clients who you want to talk to, not the ones who do not like what you offer and wouldn’t even think about referring you to their friends.
  4. You get to keep a positive attitude. You probably have a few clients who simply ramble on about their problems and bring you down. Breaking up with those clients will allow you to keep a positive attitude and be a happier person. Not only will this have a positive effect on your business, but it will also have a positive attitude on your life.
  5. It will be easier to get more quality clients. Quality clients are hard to come by. However, if you focus on your quality clients, those clients will refer you to some of their friends. Those friends will most likely be quality clients as well. In addition, you will discover the characteristics that your quality clients have. Then, you can find consumers with those characteristics and tell them about your business.

Those are the five reasons why you need to break up with bad clients as soon as possible. By eliminating the bad clients, you will be able to focus more of your time on your quality clients–the ones who pay on time, make you happy, and enjoy your service. What are your thoughts about breaking up with bad clients?

Change The Answers By Changing Your Questions

October 18, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

“Am I doing a good job at what I’m doing?”

A friend would always say yes. They would say you’re absolutely perfect in what you’re doing. Friends don’t want you to feel bad, so they aren’t going to say you’re doing something wrong.

Some people can’t take corrective criticism which is why other people hold back the slightest thought of saying the word “no”.

“What’s the problem with bloggers today?”

A friend who knew enough about blogging would tell you everything that they didn’t like. Maybe they think a blog bundled up with affiliate links is annoying. Maybe they think that the pop-up is annoying.

“What’s great about bloggers today?”

That same friend may say how frequently they get sent updates, the quality content, how a blogger makes you want to buy a product without constantly reminding you about it, or how someone’s blog is neatly organized.

Don’t ask people how you’re doing. Ask people how people of your niche are doing, what they like, and what they don’t like about people in your niche.

Want A Giant Pumpkin?

August 30, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

When farmers plants giant pumpkins, they dream of having the biggest pumpkin around. I’m not talking about the average pumpkin that you can find in you grocery store. I’m talking about the pumpkins that weigh well over a thousand pounds.

There is a magic seed that always results in a giant pumpkin, but only if you nurture it right. Giant pumpkin farmers know how to nurture those seeds well. For those farmers, and of the seeds is guaranteed to turn into a giant pumpkin.

You might be wondering how much one of those seeds is worth. Seeds from one of the best pumpkins (those pumpkins that grow over 1,000 pounds) are worth more than gold, literally. Each seed is over $1,000.

If you want a giant pumpkin, you have to make the investment in your business. You don’t have to put over $1,000 on the table for a small seed that eventually becomes a giant pumpkin. The best way to invest in your business is to invest with time. If you want a giant pumpkin, you have to find time in your day to work on your business.

That’s how you invest in your business, and that’s how the seed grows. When your seed grows enough, that’s when you put some money on the table for business expenses. As you continue nurturing your seed, your seed will grow into a giant 1,000 pound pumpkin.

When a giant pumpkin grows, it doesn’t stop growing for a long time. A 1,000 pound pumpkin can easily become a 1,500 pounder within a week. If you want a giant pumpkin, you start off by investing in the seed. There is no way around it. You need the seed in order to have the giant pumpkin. After you invest some time, you invest more time so you can nurture the seed. You continue this cycle and watch the seed grow.

When you finished growing one giant pumpkin, it’s time for you to grow another one.

Know Who Your Top Clients Are

July 3, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

The people who are your top clients are the ones you will be able to talk with about your business. They can give you tips about what you should do, and since they are your top clients, they will continue to buy your products.

Treat the top clients with the most respect. These are the clients that love what you do and keep on coming back…again and again. The clients who you are chasing for payments are the ones who aren’t good enough for your business.

The top clients should be treated very well. If they buy something from you, give them what they want. When a top client buys your product for the 5th time (or something like that), you should give them a free product.

You can lose all of the bad clients you want. Those clients won’t matter and won’t contribute to your business’ success. The top clients are the ones who buy your products and give you referrals without you even asking them to do so.
