Social Media Marketing World Case Study

February 27, 2014 by Marc Guberti 1 Comment

The biggest social networking event takes place in San Diego, and it gets hosted by Social Media Examiner. The social networking event, Social Media Marketing World, gets over 2,000 people from all over the world to show up. Tickets go for well over $1,000 each, and for people outside of San Diego, plane tickets and hotel rooms don’t come as a free package.

Social Media Marketing World is certainly an expensive event to go to. The big reason that the Social Media Marketing World event is very successful is because of the quality. The best of the best are speaking at the Social Media Marketing World. Many people speaking at the event are well-known people in the social media niche. Most of the speakers have over 100,000 followers on Twitter (some are in the 200,000’s). To sum it up very quickly, all of the speakers are very influential at what they do. The people speaking at the event also tell their followers about the event. As result, millions of people are able to see tweets about the Social Media Marketing World event.

The Social Media Marketing World event usually sees over 2,000 registrants which adds up to at least $2.2 million (assuming that most of the registrants came from the $200 discount). That’s a lot of money to make from one event.

While the price and convenience are not there, the quality makes the event what it is. This business model is identical to Lamborghini’s business model and the complete opposite of fast food restaurants’ business model. The Social Media Marketing World event will continue to thrive simply because it is the best in the world.

5 Ways To Make Writing Fun

February 26, 2014 by Marc Guberti 6 Comments

writing

There are points when writing becomes more of a chore than fun. It takes longer for paragraphs to form. It’s easier to lose thought than to form sentences. However, there are certain ways to make writing more fun so you stay in place. In order to make writing more fun, follow these 5 tips:

  1. Write about what you are passionate about. This is the big one. If you have to write about something you don’t like to begin with, having fun while writing is very unlikely. Writing about something you are passionate about is the easiest way to have more fun while writing.
  2. Give yourself a time limit. We all work better under time pressure, but if you can write something within a certain amount of time, you will give yourself a certain goal to strive for. This will make you a faster writer and give you extra motivation to write (you don’t want to be in the middle of a paragraph when time expires).
  3. Calculate the amount of words you can type per minute. There are many websites that give you paragraphs and have timers. As you write what you see, you will be able to identify the number of words you can write within a minute. By doing this often, you will be able to see progress, and pursuing this progress will make writing more fun.
  4. Write often. In order to have fun at something, you need to do it often. By writing often, you will grow accustomed to many writing techniques and end up wanting to write more content than ever before.
  5. Find people who reward you for writing. Popular guest blogs will add traffic to your own blog if your guest post gets approved. E-lance writers get paid for every article they complete. By finding people who will reward you for your content, you will have an extra incentive to write more content. As the rewards accumulate, writing will also become more fun.

Those are the 5 ways to make writing more fun. Whether you are a student completing an essay or a blogger who writes countless blog posts, it is important to always have fun writing. By having fun writing, you will be able to get more written in a shorter amount of time.

Why Fast Food Restaurants Are Successful

February 26, 2014 by Marc Guberti 8 Comments

It’s amazing to see how successful but immoral fast food restaurants have become. McDonald’s, Burger King, and Subway are some of the many fast food restaurants out there. These fast food restaurants have become corrupt in nearly every way imaginable, and the immoral part is just as well-known as the success of these restaurants.

Subway thought that eating fresh meant having their customers eat the same material that gets used to make yoga mats and shoe soles (yuck). The result was an immediate outcry on social networks. Subway trended on Twitter for the wrong reason, and now you may be wondering if those Januany and Februany deals every year are really worth it.

The employees are not the best either. Many fast food restaurants tend to focus on a quantity of employees instead of quality employees because their chains are spread throughout the world. Imagine a day when you drove 1 hour straight in a town or city and did not see a McDonald’s or another fast food restaurant. You probably can’t. In fact, it is easy to see that fast food restaurants focus on having a quantity of employees from these strange stories about past employees who got fired. What’s also worth mentioning are these horror stories from a McDonald’s employee’s.

So why exactly are these fast food restaurants successful. The reason is that these fast food restaurants’ prices and convenience make up for the lack of quality. Although eating from these fast food restaurants have numerous negative effects–which consumers know about–the idea of having food made for you in 5 minutes at a location close to home is an offer most people cannot refuse. Even though people know what the bread at Subway is really made of, many people will still eat at Subway.

Another reason fast food restaurants are very successful is because they keep on showing up. It’s very difficult to drive in a town or city without seeing McDonald’s, Subway, or any other fast food restaurant as well. It’s also getting increasingly more difficult to watch TV for an hour and not see a commercial promoting a fast food restaurant. Whether it’s Subway’s Februany or McDonald’s Buy 1 Big Mac and get a second Big Mac free offer, avoiding these commercials is more challenging than ever. This inability to escape results in many people getting suckered into ordering food from these fast food restaurants.

You can’t even escape these fast food restaurants on social networks. Even when Subway was trending for the wrong reason on Twitter, it just comes to show another reason why we cannot escape them. Fast food restaurants are using promoted tweets, Facebook advertising, and purchases of fake followers to give themselves presences that cannot be ignored. Let’s not forget that many of these fast food restaurants are open 24/7.

Fast food restaurants have become the locations where the skinny become the obese. If fast food restaurants were not fast at delivering food, they would not be nearly as successful as they are today.

Fast food restaurants have brainwashed consumers into sacrificing quality for convenience and price. Fast food restaurants know what they are doing is wrong, but they have no reason to stop because they are still generating billions of dollars in sales.

Fast food restaurants have become very controversial as a result of their ethics. While some people scorn fast food restaurants for what they have done to the world, others won’t stop eating at fast food restaurants no matter how horrible the stories are. For the consumers, price and convenience triumph against quality.

Why We Test A New Change Before Making It The Norm

February 25, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Some changes can be good while other changes can be bad. The only way we will know for certain is by testing those changes out. When I decided to tweet every 30 minutes, I decided to test it out for a day. When I saw a big improvement in my engagement on Twitter and my blog traffic, I knew that the change I made was a good one.

The reason we test changes is because some of those changes take more time to implement than others. In addition, putting in more time does not always mean better results. If you put in more time in the wrong places, you will not see better results. In order to decide whether the changes are good or not, they need to be tested.

You can go through the statistics in your mind. You can vision what is supposed to happen. However, not everything that is supposed to happen actually happens. Super Bowl 48 was supposed to be a battle of the ages. The best defense was playing against the best offense. In the end, the Seattle Sea Hawks made the Denver Broncos look very bad.

The new change can be dangerous. It can lead to bad results. By testing the change for a week, you will be able to figure out whether your audience is open to the changes or not. After you get an answer, you will be able to decide whether the change is good or not.

Don’t assume that every change you make is going to be a good one. We are going to make mistakes, but the best way to avoid making extra mistakes is by testing out new changes before turning those changes into your business’ lifestyle.

10 Ways To Get More Subscribers On YouTube

February 25, 2014 by Marc Guberti 21 Comments

Have you ever wondered why some people struggle to get 10 subscribers while others are getting thousands of subscribers every day? There are plenty of factors that determine how many subscribers people get on YouTube. Some people on YouTube happened to be celebrities before they created their YouTube accounts while other people became celebrities because of YouTube.

Getting subscribers on YouTube is critical because your subscribers will know when you come out with a new video. More subscribers always results in more views and ultimately allow you to build a stronger presence on YouTube. In order to get more subscribers for your YouTube channel, follow these 10 tips:

  1. Have numerous videos. Many of the famous people on YouTube have uploaded well over 100 videos. If you want to get more subscribers on YouTube, you need to present your viewers with more videos. Giving your viewers more videos to watch will allow them to see more of what you have done. When your viewers see multiple videos, they will subscribe to your channel.
  2. Upload quality videos. You know about Geico’s hilarious Hump Day commercial. You remember the videos that went viral because they got a lot of viewers, but also because those viral videos were really good. In order to get more subscribers, you need to upload quality videos so your viewers have a good reason to subscribe to your channel.
  3. Host a giveaway on YouTube. Giveaways always result in more engagement, subscribers, and followers. Hosting a giveaway creates the buzz that will have other people telling their friends about you. The $1.5 million giveaway completely changed Esurance’s presence on Twitter.
  4. Spread the word about your YouTube channel on other social networks. Tell people about your videos using your other social networks. Telling other people about your channel and videos will result in more views and ultimately, more subscribers.
  5. Consistently upload videos. By consistently uploading videos to your YouTube channel, your viewers will know exactly when you will be coming out with another video. People will subscribe to your channel because they know you are active on YouTube, and they know the exact date and time of your next video.
  6. Tell your viewers what your next video will be. This helps to create the buzz for your next video. If your viewers want to stay informed about your next video, the best way to do that is by subscribing to your channel.
  7. Ask for people to subscribe to your channel at the end of your videos. This method will be effective depending on how good your videos are and how many videos your viewers watch. This method is utilized by people with over 10,000 subscribers. However, do not beg for your viewers to subscribe to your channel. Asking and begging are two different things. When asking for subscribers, use annotations. The annotations should tell people what they will get for subscribing to your channel.
  8. Interact with the people who comment on your videos. If someone comments on your video saying you did a fabulous job or asking you a question, respond to that comment with the right response. Whether thanking someone for the complement or answering a question, interacting with your viewers will make them more likely to subscribe to your channel.
  9. Add a YouTube widget to your blog. If your blog is already getting a lot of traffic, you will easily be able to get more subscribers with a YouTube widget. With the widget, visitors will be able to subscribe to your channel without leaving your blog. It’s a win-win!
  10. Interact with other YouTubers. You do not have to only interact with the people who leave comments on your videos. Instead, you can also leave comments on other people’s videos and interact with them that way.

Those are 10 powerful ways to get more YouTube subscribers. If you have any other methods to get more YouTube subscribers, or you want to share your opinion about this blog post, please share your thoughts below.

Why You Absolutely Positively Need Your Own Videos

February 24, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

video

Have you noticed the big shift? More people than ever are creating their own videos. Some of these videos are being uploaded to YouTube while other videos are being put together in order to create training courses. Videos have turned into an excellent way to make money online. There are plenty of options to make money from videos such as Google Adsense on YouTube videos, Udemy, and other options as well.

While the monetary value is an excellent reason to create your own videos, there is another important reason as well. People are increasingly limiting their trust to what they can see. A consumer is less likely to buy something on eBay if no image of the product is available. Imagine thinking something was new, but it really looked as if it had been used for a decade.

The experts are the ones who make themselves seen. There are numerous experts who have videos of themselves talking about different tactics. The reason they create videos is because people get to see them. With a video, the story becomes real. A student could write up the greatest essay for a college application and write down everything that the colleges want to see. The interview process allows the colleges to decide how legitimate someone’s application is.

In addition, having a video will grab people’s attention. A good blogging tip is to have short paragraphs instead of a giant wall of text because the paragraphs are easier to read. A video works differently. Instead of having to read anything, your visitors will be able to hear you talk. They do not have to stare at the screen to read the entire blog post. Instead, they can watch your video. Videos are not substitutes for blog posts, but instead, they go hand in hand.

If you have not created a video, I strongly recommend that you create and upload a video to YouTube this week. Videos have transformed numerous businesses, brands, and products. Creating videos has the potential to transform your business, brand, and products as well.
