The main purpose of Squidoo is to allow lensmasters such as myself to make money online and donate to charities at the same time. Some lensmasters have raised over $100 to charities of their choice while others are getting even closer to that goal. Squidoo can easily be described as a website making millions of dollars. Squidoo is not at its best right now because Google is losing its trust with Squidoo. Seth Godin who founded Squidoo made a conference call last week to address the main problems and give the lensmasters hope. This was a very kind thing to do since many lensmasters were beginning to question the future of Squidoo. Kindness towards charities resulted in thousands of dollars being donated, and Squidoo’s kindness to its lensmasters has resulted in high quality lenses that dominate Squidoo. To think less than 10 years ago, there was no Squidoo. Instead, Squidoo was just an idea to help more people. When I look at Squidoo today, I marvel at its success.
Mondays
There aren’t too many people who like Mondays. Students go back to school after a two day break and work is back in session. The commute isn’t so good either. If you make money online, there is no commute and no reason not to like Mondays. For those of us who do not like Mondays, it is important to consider that Mondays are 1/7th of our entire lives which is 14.3% of our lives. If you don’t like Mondays, then you don’t like 14.3% of your life. If we change our attitudes towards Mondays, we can get more accomplished and lead happier lives instead of always focusing on the negative.
Reassurance
When you are wondering if your business is still going to earn a lot of money or if you are just beginning, remember why you started and what you want to become. Reassure yourself by reminding yourself of what your business is and all of the accomplishments it has had already.
When The Odds Are Stacked Against You
Rise above them! One of my goals is to have over 5,000 Twitter followers before summer. I am now tweeting even more tweets while some of them are strategic to get more followers (quotes, pictures, etc). I use a website called Twitter Counter to track my statistics. According to Twitter Counter, I will have 5,000 Twitter followers in the next 83 days. The only problem with that is June 1st is 72 days from now which makes me a little behind. How do I beat those kinds of odds?
Before I started getting more strategic on Twitter, followed more people, tweeted even more awesome content, and created a goal for myself, Twitter Counter predicted that it would take me 112 days for me to get 5,000 Twitter followers. The time it would take me to achieve the same milestone has dropped by almost 30 days, and this drop happened within the past 5 days. If I get more Twitter followers, Twitter Counter will project me to reach 5,000 Twitter followers even faster.
Twitter Counter also says that I will have 3,500 Twitter followers in the next 28 days which puts me in the middle of April, but Twitter Counter doesn’t put a long Easter Break into the equation.
Waiting Is Not Good…At All
Waiting to succeed will get you nowhere. In the beginning of your journey as an entrepreneur, there is no ideal time to do the work. You just have to jump into your business and make your dreams come true. If I waited for the perfect moment to start working on my business (I’m assuming it would have been summer since I have no school), I may have been distracted by the pleasures of summer such as the warm days, friends coming over, and so on. Then school would have come around, and it would be unclear if I would have a business or not. Starting at mid February was much better, and I made over $200 before the summer instead of starting in the summer. There are a lot of bad habits for businesses, but waiting and procrastinating are the worst habits of them all.
Make A List Of Goals
This is a fun activity that you can do to see what you need to do. Giving yourself a time limit to achieving your goals will make them happen faster. I have all of my goals set for Easter Break. I will complete some of those goals and barely miss others. Some goals are easier than others, but they are all possible. Out of all of my goals, the hardest may be reaching 3,500 Twitter followers before the end of Easter Break. I’m about 800 followers away which means I would have to get about 40 followers per day. The task to get 40 followers per day can be hard to do on a consistent basis, but it is possible. I have had some days where I did indeed get over 40 or even over 50 followers on the same day. If I make that rate become constant, then it is very possible for me to have over 3,500 followers before the end of Easter Break. This goal will only make me closer to eventually getting 5,000 followers, 10,000 followers, and so on.
