How To Get More Blog Traffic From Twitter

April 3, 2014 by Marc Guberti 20 Comments

Twitter is my favorite social network on the web. When utilized properly, Twitter can become a powerful way for you to get more traffic. Most of the people who visit my blog come from Twitter. In a given day, more than 50% of the people who visit my blog came from Twitter. I am going to share with you how I was able to go from getting 0 visitors on my blog from Twitter to getting hundreds of daily visitors just from Twitter alone.

There are three main components that allowed me to see a big transformation in my blog’s traffic, my books’ sales, and my blog’s Alexa rank. The first component towards my blog’s success on Twitter was that I decided to follow targeted followers instead of just following anyone on Twitter. I am not “following random people.” I am following people who are already interested in what I tweet about before they click the follow button. This has led to me making strong connections with renowned entrepreneurs and social media experts.

The second component towards my blog’s success on Twitter is that I sent out tweets at a frequent and consistent pace. Every 30 minutes, I send out a tweet. I send out tweets in the middle of the day, but I also send them out on midnight. If it is midnight at one location, it is the middle of the day in another location. I was amazed when someone tweeted that he would be going to bed at around 6 pm. Then, I realized that person lived in another continent and that 6 pm was really 11 pm where that person lives.

The third component towards my blog’s success on Twitter is being persistent. Doing this for one day will not bring forth a dramatic change. You will most likely experience a big change on the first day you implement these tactics, but then it may take months of consistently following targeted people and scheduling tweets until you see the next dramatic rise in traffic. I am assure you that each dramatic rise in traffic that you experience is better than the last.

What are your thoughts about the components I have used? Do you have any other tips and suggestions to add? Share your thoughts and advice below.

7 Reasons You Should Create Your Own Blog

March 31, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Blogging has become big over the years. Ever since Carolyn’s Diary which was created in 1995, blogging has evolved dramatically. There are billions of blogs on the web, and that number will continue to grow. However, not everyone has a blog. In this blog post, I am going to tell you the 7 reasons why you should create your own blog…right…now.

  1. Blogging is growing. There are billions of blogs on the web and over 150,000 blogs are being created every day. Blogging is not a fad. Blogging is something made to stick.
  2. You can write about (almost) anything. Writing can be a lot of fun if you decide what you write about. With blogging, you get to make all of the decisions about what your content is all about.
  3. Blogs will give your brand a boost. A brand with a blog is more professional than a brand without a blog. Think of the last time you encountered a brand that did not have a blog, website, or social networks. It’s hard to think of the last time that happened.
  4. Some blogs provide a full-time income for bloggers. Some people make a full-time income from their blogs. Some people have even gone from rags to riches because of their blogs.
  5. Blogging is a comfortable lifestyle. Imagine being able to call of the shots. Imagine being able to schedule your own day instead of being forced to work from 9 to 5. Blogging gives you a ticket out of the unchangeable schedule. Blogging will give you the flexibility that you never thought was possible.
  6. You can create a list. That list of people can turn into subscribers, followers, and customers. The bigger your lists are, the better the possibilities are.
  7. Blogging gives you responsibility. Remember when the most important thing to do in elementary school was become responsible? Blogging gives you the power of responsibility. Your success as a blogger is dependent on the amount of work you put in. While many jobs have set wages (with the occasional raise for certain individuals), the amount of money a blogger can make can go up dramatically as the months and years go by.

Those are the 7 reasons why you should create your own blog. What are your thoughts about these reasons? Do you have any additional reasons to create a blog? Share your thoughts below.

Creating The Free Prize For Subscribers

March 29, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

One of the best ways to get more subscribers is by offering them a free prize. The free prize that I offer my subscribers is the Pinterest Mastery Video Tutorial. Social Media Examiner offers a free video about Facebook, and many other bloggers either offer a free video or a free report.

This free prize will serve as an incentive towards getting someone to subscribe to your blog. The thought of getting something makes people more likely to enter in their details. If you knew you could win a giveaway by subscribing to someone’s blog, would you subscribe to that blog? The free prize allows everyone to be a winner…that is everyone who decides to subscribe to your blog.

The free prize will do a good job at getting people to subscribe to your blog just like a Christmas present attracts attention. Once you get the visitor’s attention, and that visitor becomes the subscriber, they are opening the present you gave them. If the present you gave them (the free prize) is bad, the people who receive the free prize may decide to unsubscribe to your blog. If the present is a good one, the people who receive it are more likely to stick around.

When you create the free prize, you need to create a product that you could charge for. An empty box of cookies is technically a free prize, but it is not necessarily the free prize that consumers want. 30 second videos with bad content and lighting are not the things that people want. 30 minute videos with quality content and lighting are the things that people want. The 5 page report does not keep as many subscribers as the 50 page report. The more time and effort you put into creating the free prize, the more likely your subscribers will stick around and engage with your content.

The free prize is a simple, easy to implement concept with numerous benefits. Before I distributed the Pinterest Mastery Video Tutorial to my subscribers, I was stuck at 10 subscribers. Immediately when I introduced the free prize, I was getting subscribers every day. In addition, some of those subscribers leave comments on my blog posts to this day. Introduce the free prize to your visitors and see what the free prize can do for you.

If you have any thoughts about the free prize or any additional tips, please share them below.

7 Ways To Get More Backlinks For Your Blog

March 28, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Backlinks are very important to boosting your SEO. Backlinks put a link on your blog on other places on the web. Not only will people on other places on the web be able to go to your blog, but your blog will also rank higher on Google. Getting quality backlinks is better than having a quantity of backlinks. Right now, I am going to tell you seven ways that you can get the best of both worlds: quality and quantity.

  1. Become a guest blogger. I am an active guest blogger on Business2Community. Not only does guest blogging result in more traffic to my blog, but Business2Community is now a backlink for my blog. The more guest blogs you write for, the more backlinks you will get. However, be sure to write at least 5 guest posts on the same blog in order to build your presence on that guest blog.
  2. Write quality content. If you want to get people to write about your blog (and get a backlink), you need to write quality content. As you write more blog posts, people will have more options of writing about you and your content.
  3. Write pages on the web that link to your blog. There are many options to do this. I primarily use Squidoo, but Zujava, HubPages, and Wizzley are other options. I recommend using Squidoo because it is the best one, you can donate to charities, and it is very easy to create a page on Squidoo. Here is an example.
  4. Verify your blog on Pinterest. This is a simple way to get a high quality backlink. There are numerous plugins that can get the job done, and having your blog verified on Pinterest will boost your SEO.
  5. Create more blogs. This one may be a bit tough to do considering that you would have to update multiple blogs every day/week. However, if you are willing to take the challenge, you can have your blogs link to each other and improve the SEO for all of your blogs. In addition, if one of your blogs gets thousands of visitors every day, those traffic stats trickle to your other blogs as well.
  6. Backlink exchanging. Although my blog does not participate in backlink exchanges (unless Zuckerberg comes by. Then I bend the rules), they are a method that beginners can use to get a voice on the web. If you exchange backlinks with 100 people, you will have 100 extra backlinks on the web. If you decide to do backlink exchanging, be sure to exchange backlinks with a blog that is similar to yours.
  7. Write articles on Bubblews. Not only will you be able to make money for every view on Bubblews, but you will also be able to get a backlink to your blog. The secret method is to add a URL to your blog in one of your Bubblews articles just like I did for this article. Bubblews is a very popular site, and it will give your blog a quality backlink.

Those are the seven ways to get more backlinks on your blog. Do you have any additional tips or thoughts? Please share them below.

4 Simple Ways To Get A Quick Increase In Blog Traffic

March 22, 2014 by Marc Guberti 8 Comments

Traffic

Going from 0 daily visitors to 100,000 daily visitors takes a lot of time and effort. The thought of getting more blog traffic has been believed to be a slow process in which the most persistent bloggers are the most successful ones. However, there are some ways to get more blog traffic immediately. These are 4 ways to do that:

  1. Include share buttons at the bottom of your blog. This is a simple step to implement that will allow more people to share your content with their social networks. Some blogs get a few extra visitors with this method while other blogs get a few thousand extra visitors.
  2. Include links to your older blog posts in your new ones. Once you get visitors, you want them to stick around. If your visitors read multiple blog posts on your blog, that reduces your blog’s bounce rate. A blog with a low bounce rate has a better SEO rank. Decreasing bounce rate is a simple way to get a better PageRank on Google.
  3. Write a guest post on a popular blog. Putting your content in front of a larger audience will allow more people to know about you. When people look at your bio, they will see your social networks and a link to your blog. Once you get them to visit your blog, your bounce-rate-improved blog will keep those visitors on your blog for a longer period of time. Writing a guest post and including a link to your blog in the bio will also count towards a backlink.
  4. Use HARO. I have mentioned HARO (Help A Reporter Out) many times because it is an easy way to get free PR. Big media outlets related to your niche are using HARO to find people like you. If the journalist likes your submission, they will feature you on a popular blog, TV show, or magazine. Being featured on the blog gives you another backlink while all three give you free PR.

Those are 4 ways to see an immediate change in your blog traffic. While some tactics take weeks or months to see a big change from, these tactics will allow you to see an immediate increase in traffic. I can’t promise you will go from 0 daily visitors to 100 daily visitors overnight, but I can promise you a noticeable increase in traffic.

5 Reasons To Comment On Other People’s Blogs

March 9, 2014 by Marc Guberti 14 Comments

There are a lot of ways to build your presence as a blogger, and one of those methods is commenting on other people’s blogs. While this is a slower approach towards building a powerful presence, consistently commenting on other people’s blogs will one day give you a surge of traffic. Of all of the reasons to comment on other people’s blogs, these 5 reasons are the ones that stand out the most.

  1. Your blog gets more backlinks. Leaving comments on other people’s blogs results in a backlink for your blog. Getting more backlinks will get your blog more traffic from search engines.
  2. You get to build connections with other commentors. The people who leave a comment after you are very likely to see your comment as well. This will result in you making numerous connections depending on how popular the blog is.
  3. You can connect with the blogger. Some bloggers respond to the comments of their visitors. This gives you the ability to build a strong connection with the blogger. Then, you can ask that blogger to be a guest for an interview (Google Hangouts or an email with questions). Interviews end up helping out both you and the blogger.
  4. Some blogs have widgets on the sidebar that show the top commentors. The blogs with these widgets will allow you to easily get another backlink to your blog. In addition, your name will appear on multiple places in the same blog. The more times your name shows up, the more likely someone is to visit your blog.
  5. People see you more often. As people see you more often, their trust for you will grow. This concept is a big reason why many companies have not given up on the TV advertising game. They need to be seen often in order to gain our trust.

Those are the 5 key benefits of commenting on other people’s blogs. Whether you want to give it a try on this blog or comment on other blogs, commenting on other blogs is a great way for you to build your own blog’s traffic.
