15 Ways To Get More Retweets On Twitter

May 19, 2014 by Marc Guberti 8 Comments

I'm happy to see you around. You may want to subscribe to my blog. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome back! I am so happy to see that you have come back for more.

Twitter Retweet

Getting more retweets is an essential way to build your presence on Twitter. Although many people find it difficult to get numerous retweets every day, others are easily able to get well over 100 retweets for all of their tweets. Getting retweets does not have to be hard. In fact, you can get more retweets tomorrow by implementing these 15 tactics.

  1. Retweet other people’s tweets. When people see that you retweet other people’s tweets, some people will decide to retweet your tweets too. Some people believe that retweeting your tweet will incline you to retweet one of their tweets. Other people will be grateful that you took the time to share someone else’s quality tweet and then retweet your tweet. Some of your retweets may even get retweeted by your followers.
  2. Tweet motivational quotes. No matter what your niche is, motivational quotes always get retweeted. Motivational quotes fill your followers with a powerful message, and some of your followers will want to share that message with the people who are following them. As a result, your tweet gets retweeted.
  3. Tweet with 1-2 hashtags. Tweets with hashtags are retweeted more often than tweets without hashtags. However, a tweet with too many hashtags is hard to read, and as a result, does not get as many retweets. The ideal number of hashtags to include in your tweets to see the best effect is 1-2 hashtags. Anything over that will not get as many retweets.
  4. Tweet articles that your targeted followers would want to retweet. Many bloggers make the mistake of tweeting their blog posts primarily to get more traffic. In order to get more traffic to your blog, the titles of your blog posts need to be appealing to your targeted followers. I do not tweet my blog posts from the first month because they are not as good as the ones that I am writing now. As you publish more blog posts, you will have more options. Only tweet your blog posts that you know your targeted followers would visit and retweet.
  5. Tweet other people’s articles. These articles still need to be quality content that appeals to your targeted followers. Although you should be tweeting about your own blog at least 80% of the time (as long as your blog posts are really good), some of your tweets should be about other people’s articles.
  6. Include r/t at the end of some of your tweets. The word some is very important. Using r/t at the end of some of your tweets will give you the desired effect of getting more retweets. However, if you include r/t at the end of all of your tweets, it will lose its effectiveness. R/T works like an exclamation point. If I used one exclamation point in this blog post, it would be very effective. If I replaced every period at the end of any sentence in this blog post with an exclamation point, that exclamation point would lose its effect.
  7. Get retweeted by people with big followings. If someone with 10,000 followers retweets your tweet, chances are some of those 10,000 followers will retweet the retweet. As more people with big followings retweet your tweets, you will get more retweets from those people’s followers.
  8. Become a superstar who everyone wants to retweet. Ellen DeGeneres is someone who gets all of her tweets retweeted thousands of times. She also has the world record for most retweeted tweet (3.4 million retweets and 2 million favorites). Although you may not be able to get 3.4 million retweets, or thousands of retweets per tweet for that matter, what if you could get a guaranteed 10 retweets per tweet? What if you could get 50 guaranteed retweets per tweet? Becoming the superstar in your niche will make people pay more attention to your tweets and retweet them.
  9. Tweet more often. In order for your tweets to get retweeted, your tweets need to be seen more often. By tweeting consistently throughout the day, you will increase the amount of retweets you get every day.
  10. Include pictures in your tweets. The only reason Ellen DeGeneres’ tweet was retweeted 3.4 million times was because that tweet had a picture. The same tweet without the picture would not have gotten nearly as many retweets as the tweet with the photo. In my experience, including a picture in my tweet has more than quadrupled the average amount of retweets I get per tweet.
  11. Tweet between 71 to 100 characters. That is the sweet spot for tweets that get retweeted. Making your tweet too short will not give your followers a good reason to retweet it. If your tweet is above 100 characters, then it will take too long for your followers to read the tweet, and they will skip over that tweet. It may sound shocking that people do not have enough time to read a 100-140 character tweet, but since the Twitter feed moves so fast, and there are countless other tweets to read, your tweet needs to be short and to the point.
  12. Time your tweets accordingly. Did you know that 48% of U.S. users go by the Eastern Time Zone? If you want to get more people to retweet your tweets, schedule your tweets to get published at the times when people in the Eastern Time Zone are using Twitter. Even better, schedule 1 tweet every 20-60 minutes throughout the day so anyone from any time zone can read your tweets.
  13. Include a link in your tweet. Whether the links in retweeted tweets lead to articles or YouTube videos, most retweets contain links. Some people do not retweet a tweet based on the 100 characters. Instead, these people retweet the tweet based on where the link takes them.
  14. Tweet about Twitter. The people on Twitter want to get more followers and talk with their friends. If you tweet about Twitter, users who want to learn more about being successful on Twitter (almost everyone) will retweet your tweet. Then, as more people see your tweet, it becomes contagious and spreads across the social network.
  15. Live tweet during events. Ellen’s most retweeted tweet was sent during the Oscars. Oreo’s famous tweet about dunking in the dark during the Super Bowl black out got more than 10,000 retweets. Esurance sent out a tweet after the Super Bowl with their $1.5 million giveaway.

By getting more retweets, your content will be able to spread on Twitter faster. As your content spreads faster, you will gain followers at a faster rate. What are your thoughts about the list? Do you have any additional tips? Please share your thoughts and tips below.

5 Methods To Create A Compelling Free Prize

May 18, 2014 by Marc Guberti 1 Comment

Free prizes are only effective if they are compelling. The free prize needs to be something that your visitors would want that could have been a paid product. However, many people make the mistake of offering a free prize that is not compelling. A compelling free prize encourages people to subscribe to your blog. A compelling free prize encourages people to buy your paid products later down the road. If you want your free prize to be compelling, follow these 5 methods.

  1. Have an eye-catching design. People do judge a free prize by the cover. You need to come up with an eye-catching design for your free prize so your visitors will have a reason to subscribe. Some people will get your free prize just because it looks cool.
  2. Make it essential for your target audience. The free prize you give away must match your target audience’s interests. If your target audience is people who want to grow their social media presence, a free guide to gaining more followers on any social network would be a compelling free prize.
  3. Get people to mention your free prize. If your free prize gets mentioned on other people’s websites, more people will subscribe to get the free prize. Positive reviews are a big factor towards how many sales your book makes. Getting positive reviews for your free prize will make people want to get their hands on your free prize.
  4. Make it different from the other free prizes out there. The free prizes in cereal boxes used to be a big deal. Now that more companies have a free prize in their cereal boxes, the free prize in the cereal box has gotten old. There are millions of free prizes out there, but if you want your free prize to be compelling, your free prize needs to stand out from the other free prizes.
  5. Make getting the free prize easy. If someone has to fill in their address, phone number, and date of birth to get the free prize, your free prize will not be compelling. Instead of appreciating the free prize for what it is, visitors will only think of how complicated it was to finally gain access to the free prize. Instead of making it hard for your visitors to get the free prize, only ask for their email address (asking for the person’s first name is optional). By making it easier for your visitors to get the free prize, those visitors will be more likely to enter in their information.

Those are the five methods to make your free prize compelling. What are your thoughts about the list? Do you have any suggestions for the list? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

5 Ways To Engage With Your Customers

May 18, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Business Engagement

Customers need to have a reason to buy a product. Once the customer buys your product, they need another set of reasons to become a returning customer. One of the reasons customers will buy your products is if you engage with those customers. Many people miss the importance of engaging with their customers. Engaging with customers gives them a reason to buy your products and come back. Engaging with the customers shows them that you care about them. In order to engage with your customers, follow these tactics.

  1. Use social networks and reply to the people who mention you. Thank the people who share your blog posts and buy your products. Thanking someone shows that you appreciate that someone read, shared, and/or bought your content. If someone buys your eBook, ask that person what their favorite part of your eBook is and strike a conversation. As the conversation develops, ask that person if they would write a review for your eBook.
  2. Allow people to contact you on your blog. Some people prefer to email their questions than to ask them. If you allow people to contact you through email, you will be able to build stronger connections with your customers. For your email signature, include links to your social networks and products so the interaction can continue.
  3. Build your credibility. In order to get people to contact you, you need to be someone who is worth contacting. The bestselling author who is crushing it on Kindle is the person worth contacting. The professional athlete is someone worth contacting. Make yourself worth contacting so more of your customers contact you.
  4. Respond to emails as quickly as possible. I respond to emails every day for 30 minutes in the afternoon. That is the ideal time for me to respond emails because I do not write as many words in the afternoon.
  5. Build an email list. Promote a free product in your eBooks so you can capture your reader’s email address. By building this list, you will be able to identify all of your customers. Amazon does not make it easy to identify the people who bought your products. However, if you get people to enter their email address to gain access to a free product, you will be able to identify your customers. Then, send those customers a personalized message thanking them for buying your product. After that, be sure to stay in touch with that customer.

Those are the 5 ways to engage with your customers. Engaging with your customers is one of the most underrated ways of boosting your sales. What are your thoughts on the list? Do you have any additional tips you would like to mention? Please share your thoughts and tips below.

3 Reasons Why You Need A Business Buddy

May 17, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Business Teamwork

Many entrepreneurs believe that going solo is the best approach towards being successful. When working alone, an entrepreneur has more power over their business and gets to implement all of the ideas that he/she wants to implement. Although there are several advantages associated with going solo, every entrepreneur needs to have a business buddy. Whether your business buddy is a friend, a colleague in another niche, or someone who owns half of the company, having a business buddy is very important towards the growth of your business. These are the 3 reasons why you need a business buddy:

  1. You will encourage each other to work harder. If you and your business buddy work side by side, you will encourage each other to work harder. You would not want to take your break if your business buddy was still working, and your business buddy would not take a break if you were still working. As a result, both of you will be more productive.
  2. Ideas get enhanced. Maybe you are trying to think of how you can implement your idea or some ways to make your idea better. Your business buddy may know a method to make your idea better. You can do one to one brainstorming with your business buddy, and one to one brainstorming is the best version of brainstorming available.
  3. You get more referred customers. If your business buddy knows a lot about architecture and you are a blogging expert, you can exchange connections. If someone who comments on your blog is looking for an architect, you can tell them about your business buddy. If one of your business buddy’s clients needs help with blogging, then your business buddy will refer that client to you.

Although going solo is the easier approach, it is better over the long-term to have a business buddy who you can exchange ideas with and help each other out. Having a business buddy will allow you to get more connections and be more productive at the work place. If you know multiple people who qualify, you can have multiple business buddies and meet with one of those people every time you work. Who is your business buddy? If you do not have a business buddy yet, do you plan on getting one? Please share your thoughts below.

  4. Effective time management. It takes a lot of time and effort to create a business. Making that business successful takes more time and effort as well. By having effective time management, you will increase your productivity, get more done, and move your business farther.
  5. The desire for success. We all want and need to be successful. However, the successful entrepreneurs are the ones who have a strong desire for success. This desire inspires successful entrepreneurs to get more work done every day so their businesses become successful faster.
  6. Connections. Every successful entrepreneur has strong connections. In order to be successful, people need to know about your business. Making the right connections can get you referred customers, appearances in newspapers, and more. In order to get more connections, you need to use your social networks.
