TV Advertising Is Dead

August 17, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

The old methods don’t work anymore, but some people refuse to admit it. There are still a lot of commercials on TV. Those commercials don’t work as well as they used to. Everyone just wants to watch their favorite show now, but that’s not all.

The invention of cell phones–the cell phones with all of the apps like the iPhone–have hurt the marketing value of TV commercials dramatically. Instead of watching the commercials, I can always play the game Risk on my iPhone.

I’m not alone. There are more people with cell phones (4.8 billion) than there are people with toothbrushes (4.2 billion). I am not making that up.

That’s one of the possible reasons why people don’t watch TV commercials anymore. There might be other people who just don’t like the advertiser. I eat healthy, and my mom is a certified nutritionist, so I either mute or turn off the TV during all of the commercials promoting fast food restaurants.

People are also being taken away from the TV because of YouTube. Instead of waiting for all of the commercials to go by, you can watch the re-runs. There are some commercials on YouTube, but you get to skip most of them in 5 seconds. Then, you get to watch what you wanted to watch.

With TV advertising, there’s tons of commercials. Three minutes of commercials feels like a half an hour. You might as well watch paint dry. There’s no skip in 5 seconds option. The only option is to watch the entire commercial which turns people and their TVs off (although the Super Bowl is an exception).

When the TV advertisement reaches some people who are interested, most won’t buy the product. That’s because those people already have a similar seller that they trust. If you create blogs on WordPress, you won’t like the transition from WordPress to Blogger and vice versa.

Finally, that big audience you advertised to turns into the lone remainder. The few people who forgot to charge their cell phones, didn’t have the TV remote nearby, and decided to listen to your commercial since it was the only option.

TV advertising is not what it used to be. Change isn’t an option, it’s a necessity.

Everyone Wants The Answer

August 17, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

We all have questions, and we all want answers to our questions. The quicker we get our answer, the quicker we are able to do something else. People don’t like pondering over the question for a long amount of time. We just want the answer.

If you want an answer, asking someone to give you the answer will temporarily help you. If you ask someone for the answer, and they give you the answer, you didn’t do anything to get that answer. Let’s suppose your question is, “How do I get more followers on Pinterest?”

You can either ask your friend, or you can look up the answer yourself. There will be a time when you have a question, and your friend will be on vacation. When your friend is on vacation, they probably won’t answer their phone…at all. What if your friend is in another country and won’t be back for 3 weeks? Do you go to someone else for the answer or do you find a way to answer your own question.

When you answer your own questions by looking up information, you are taking responsibility for yourself. Responsibility for yourself will allow you to achieve greatness throughout your life.

Getting the answer from someone else is the easy road. There’s no work on your part to find the answer. Someone just gives you to answer, you apply what you have learned, and when you have another question, you expect someone to give you an answer. Don’t expect someone to simply give you the answer every time, and don’t rely on that person. Rely on yourself. The only way to do that is by choosing yourself.

Answer your own questions. Then, you’ll ask more questions and answer them as well. Then, you won’t just stop with an answer. You’ll be able to question your own question. Then, you’ll come up with better answers, and you will learn more as a result.

Get More Sales With A Variety Of Prices

August 16, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Legos have become very popular toys, but this did not happen overnight. The Lego Group was founded in 1932. However, Lego Sets weren’t as famous as they are now. In fact, Lego nearly went bankrupt in 2003.

Now, Lego is thriving. One of the reasons Lego is thriving today is because of its variety of prices. You can get a Lego for as little as $5 and as much as $500. There are shipping fees, promotional fees, and everything else, but overall, Lego makes a profit.

So how does this apply to your business? It’s not like we own the entire Lego company. However, you can create many products with a variety of prices. Dip as low as $3 and as high as $1,000. Chances are that most of your clients will buy your $3 products before they buy your $1,000 products.

You can charge prices between $3 and $1,000 for different products. You can charge $25 for one product, $50 for another product, and $200 for the other product. Give your clients a lot of options, and make sure your price ends in a 7. Instead of charging $5 or $4.99, you should charge $4.97. Ending the price in a 7 leads to the most sales although no one knows why.

The more options you give your clients, the better. Put the spotlight on your three best products that range in price such as the $3 book, the $47 CD, and the $997 membership site.

3 Problems That All Newbies Face With Social Media (And How To Fix Them)

August 15, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Social media is powerful. With social media, small businesses and entrepreneurs are given a stronger presence than at any point in history. Social media is a powerful tool that can cause any unknown business to become the next big thing.

It is possible, and it’s easier than many people think. There are 3 top problems that people face on social media, and I will provide solutions for each of those problems.

  1. Getting more followers. You have to be patience in order to get more followers. There are plenty of ways to get more followers such as tweeting frequently, engaging in conversations, and so on. My next blog post will list 10 universal ways to get more followers with any social network.
  2. Quickly becoming overwhelmed. There are too many people who are thinking Competitor A has over 100,000 followers, Competitor B has over 50,000 followers, and I just started using social media. These people may not even know much about using their social network, yet. That last word, yet, is the most important word in the sentence. You will learn a lot about social media by subscribing to this blog, but I encourage you to explore other options as well. Business2Community, Social Media Today, and Techcrunch are some of the many places that you can find valuable resources and posts about all of the social networks. However, don’t try to do too much in a single day. Take social media one day at a time until you have learned a lot about your social network and others as well.
  3. No sales or clicks. What’s the point? You will start to see those sales and clicks when you get more followers and engage with them properly. However, people are worrying about their sales, clicks, and the ROI (return of investment). You’re not spending money in this investment. You’re spending time. After a couple of hours, there aren’t any sales or clicks. Remember that becoming successful on any social network requires a lot of patience. It’s my go-to piece of advice that I would give anyone about becoming successful on social media. If you have the following, but you still aren’t getting any sales, try the 80/20 rule. Tweet about other people’s content 80% of the time and your content 20% of the time. Better yet, when you tweet your content, tweet about your blog 15% of the time and one of your products only 5% of the time. People don’t want to see your product unless they trust and respect you. I finally bought Seth Godin’s book Purple Cow. I have been subscribed to his blog for more than a year, and I finally decided to buy the book. Some people will take months to build trust while others will take a year. You don’t get the return on investment right away. It takes time.

The Picture Perfect Solution For Your Blog

August 14, 2013 by Marc Guberti 1 Comment

If you are wondering how to increase traffic to your blog, you should add more pictures to your blog. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and they will catch the eye of your visitors. The picture will also give your visitors an idea of what your blog post is going to be about.

The problem is that when people read a blog post, they may scroll down and forget to read the title. It does happen. The picture is a reminder of what your blog post is about.

Pinterest is also becoming a more popular social network which I have been talking about a lot recently. In order to build an audience on Pinterest, your blog needs pictures, and with pictures, your blog posts look better on other social networks as well.

If you’re trying to get more traffic to your blog, it might have something to do with pictures. If you don’t add pictures to your blog posts, that’s the change you need to make.

Why People Cheat

August 14, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

People cheat so they can get an edge on the competition. People cheat because they want to become elite. People cheat to make themselves look bigger than they really are. When you see someone with over 10 million followers on Twitter, check how many fake followers they have (Twitter Audit and Status People Fake Follower Check are the services I use to check), and you’ll be shocked. Buying fake followers is a way to cheat the system. It makes the consumer look more popular on Twitter than they really are.

People still cheat even when they know about the punishments that come in store…if they get caught. Those last 4 words, “if they get caught,” are the words that encourage a lot of people. They think they won’t get caught.

No matter how many hours they spend hiding their tracks, cheaters always get caught. The system we live in filters out the cheaters and rewards the winners.
