3 Ways To Know Whether You Have A Powerful Presence Or Not

There are many definitions for what a powerful presence on the web means. To some people, it means more blog traffic. To others, it means having big numbers. That means a big number of followers, a big number of shares, and a big number of views. The bigger they are the better they are. When it comes to knowing whether you have a powerful presence on the web or not, all of those things I just mentioned get thrown out of the window. There are three ways to know whether you have a powerful presence on the web or not. Some of them will sound familiar to the ones I told you to throw out of the window, but they are distinct compared to the typical metrics people use to determine whether they have a powerful presence or not.

  1. People are honored when you respond to their emails. That’s how you know you’re a celebrity in your niche. There are few people that can make you feel honored by responding you an email. If one person was able to tell you how honored they felt to receive your email, that means there are other people who were honored to receive an email from you but did not tell you. In many cases, the greatest things often go unsaid.
  2. Grow an audience that matters. I did not say get big numbers. There is a difference between having a big audience and having an audience that matters. It is possible to put together a big audience and an audience that matters, but you need to know what kind of audience matters first. An audience that matters is one that shares your content, values your content, and appreciates what you do.
  3. People only buy products because you made them. Chances are there are dozens of other products for people to choose from. As your presence grows, some people will admire you to the point where they will favor your products over other people’s products. If you buy a Seth Godin book, you’ll end up buying as many as you can. That’s how you can tell he has a powerful presence on the web. Some people would buy a book just because his name is on the front cover.

By growing your presence on the web, you also grow your presence outside of the web. You will get the recognition and applauses each time you make a public speech. Big numbers have the power to make your presence look bigger than it really is. Your powerful presence come down to the three things on the list.

Three Super Easy Methods To Increase Your Blog’s SEO

There are many methods to increase a blog’s SEO. Some of those methods are highlighted here, but most of the SEO increasing methods out there take several months of work before they pay off. However, there are certain methods to boost your SEO that do not take much time. In addition, these methods are super easy to implement. Here are the methods.

  1. Include categories for your blog posts. Categories make it easier for people to navigate through your blog. This will result in more people clicking on links and sticking on your blog. As a result, categories lower your blog’s bounce rate, and as people stay on your blog for a longer period of time, they will be more likely to buy your products or subscribe.
  2. Add tags to your blog posts. A tag is a word or phrase that someone searches into Google (or another search engine) and finds your blog. Tags work like exclamation points which means the more tags you have, the less useful they are. My recommendation is to have 2-5 tags for each of your blog posts.
  3. Include keywords in your blog posts. Keywords strengthen your tags and allow people on search engines to easily find your blog based on search terms. When you include keywords in your blog, you must avoid stuffing keywords in your blog posts. A good rule of thumb is to use a keyword at least five times, but if that keyword appears in every sentence or every other sentence, that keyword needs to be reduced. Just come up with synonyms for your keywords and you’ll be fine.

How To Get 200,000 Blog Visitors Every Year

Reaching this stage of the game means your blog is very popular and that you are a credible in your niche. However, few people are able to reach this milestone. I am writing about this topic because this blog currently gets an average of over 200,000 visitors every year. In other words, that’s 548 daily visitors. I am going to share with you the methods I used to get this far and ultimately make my blog become popular.

The first thing that helped me is valuable content. Valuable content encourages people to share your blog posts and revisit your blog. I recognize when certain blog posts on this blog are valuable while others are not valuable. Anything from 2012 is not nearly as good as the content that I write for this blog now. I was not providing a lot of value in 2012 because I was just focusing on survival and being able to write one blog post every day just for the sake of staying consistent. It is better to provide valuable content at the cost of losing your consistency because the more valuable content you have, the more content you can share on social networks.

Another reason I was able to reach this milestone was because I stuck with it. I won’t go into the details about my blog before it was popular. This picture does a fine job with that. Sticking with it allowed me to get better at writing valuable content and learn new methods of gaining traffic a long the way. Many people give up because they are not getting enough traffic. I almost gave up on this blog similar to how I gave up on others as well. However, I knew the growing your presence on the web niche was a niche that I wanted to be a part of. I decided to stick with it hoping my statistics would one day look like the statistics from that picture (and now, they do).

By far the biggest reason towards my blog’s success that was more powerful than anything else was social media, and Twitter in particular. Twitter has been the driving force for this blog’s growth and success. Twitter alone generates an average of over 100,000 visitors every year. In addition, when Twitter traffic picked up, my search engine traffic also picked up. That taught me a very important lesson: SEO traffic and social media traffic are correlated.

Those are the reasons why my blog now gets over 200,000 visitors every year. However, that has been rising at a phenomenal rate. My goal by the end of the year is to be able to get 500,000 visitors every year and have an Alexa rank under 100,000. Basically, I am trying to more than double the number of visitors I get within a few months, but it would not be the first time something like that happened.

7 Proven Methods To Keep Visitors On Your Blog Longer

The longer you keep a visitor on your blog, the more likely that visitor is to do the following:

  1. Become a returning visitor
  2. Subscribe to your blog
  3. Tell their friends about you
  4. Buy one of your products

There are several benefits associated with getting more visitors, but few people know how to keep visitors on their blog for a longer period of time let alone how much time the typical visitor is spending on their blog. As your blog becomes more popular, you will be able to find out how much time your average visitor spends on your blog on Alexa. Whether you know how long your visitors stay on your blog or not, it is very important to make sure your visitors stay on your blog for as long as possible. Here are 7 proven methods to make people stay on your blog for a longer period of time.

  1. Make your blog load faster. People will not stick around if it takes too long for your blog to load. People have things to do, places to see, and other blogs to visit. The world moves super fast which means your blog needs to load super fast. People will not wait for a few seconds to go by to access your blog.
  2. Include videos in some of your blog posts and on your sidebar. If your visitor watches a 5 minute video on your blog, that means that person was on your blog for an extra 5 minute. Imagine what would happen if half of your blog’s visitors watched a 5 minute video. They would stay on your blog for a very long time.
  3. Include links to your older posts. By including links to your older posts, you will reduce your blog’s bounce rate. In addition, linking to your older blog posts provides your visitor with more content. The more links to have to your own blog posts, the lower your bounce rate will be. You should make it a goal to include at least 1 link to another blog post on your blog in all of the blog posts that you write.
  4. Have a good theme and background for your blog. Your blog’s design is one of the initial deciding factor of whether people stick around or not. Before visitors read your blog posts, they see the theme and background. If your blog’s theme and background look bland, too complex, or unbearable (this can go from only having a bright yellow color as the background to something that shouldn’t be there), visitors will leave your blog before reading the post.
  5. Write longer blog posts. If your visitors have more content to read, then they will stay on your blog longer. It takes longer for someone to read a 1,000 word blog post than it takes for someone to read a 500 word blog post. Writing longer blog posts will also have an impact on your blog’s SEO.
  6. Include eye-catching pictures in your blog posts. Pictures make the entire reading process much easier. Instead of just seeing a giant slab of text, show your visitors a picture. This picture can strengthen the idea of what your blog post is about, provide insights, be humorous, or do something else. Ultimately, the picture engages the visitor and keeps that visitor on your blog for a longer period of time.
  7. Write valuable content. In order to get your visitors to click on the links to your older blog posts and watch the 5 minute video, the content you provide on your blog needs to be valuable. You can write quality content and not make a single spelling or Grammar error. However, you need to write valuable content that people remember you for. You won’t remember every word in this blog post, and I’m not expecting you to (I don’t remember all of the words to my own blog posts, so it’s okay). The only thing your visitors will remember is the value that your blog post provided.

It is important to write quality content, but it is also important to keep people on your blog for a long period of time. 3 Ways To Get More Blog Traffic From Twitter

If you use Twitter to get more blog traffic, it can turn into the juggernaut of your blogging strategy. Twitter accounts for 50% of this blog’s traffic, and when I saw a big increase in my Twitter traffic, I also saw a big increase in my SEO traffic. There is a connection between social media and SEO. In order to see the increase in traffic that you want to see, you need to know how to get more blog traffic from Twitter. Here are three ways to do that.

  1. Schedule tweets of your blog posts to show up consistently and frequently. One of the most common mistakes people make on Twitter is only tweeting about their blog 20% of the time. This is a method we use because we don’t want to only promote ourselves (because that would paint a “bad image”). Your followers don’t care about who wrote the content. They only care about whether the content provides value or not. In addition, it is okay to tweet once every 20 minutes. The average Twitter user only spends 20 minutes on Twitter which means most people will only see one of your tweets. Tweet often, and tweet about your blog.
  2. Pin your most popular tweets of one of your blog posts. This tweet will appear on the top of your profile. Your followers who see the tweet will quickly realize that the tweet was pinned. As they wonder why that tweet got pinned, those followers will realize that the tweet is very popular. People like popular things, so they will visit the blog post in that tweet and read the article. Here’s how you pin a tweet to the top of your Twitter feed.
  3. Interact with your followers. During a free giveaway for one of my books, I realized I was in trouble. The categories for that book were outdated (they were no longer on Amazon’s website), and the up-to-date categories that applied to my book were not available. That means I would not be able to get a lot of extra sales from Amazon’s site. Instead of focusing on getting my book’s ranking down (to make the Top 100 Bestselling Lists for certain categories which would have resulted in hundreds of extra free downloads), I relied on Twitter. I interacted with my followers, pinned the tweet about my free book, and people came by asking me about the book, telling me how they liked it, and some of these people even left reviews for my book. If you want to grow your blog traffic, interact with your Twitter followers so they have the ability to listen. Here are some ways to boost the amount of interaction you have with the audience you built from the ground up.

Although a majority of bloggers want more subscribers, getting those subscribers is very difficult for a newbie blogger. Most of the subscribers newbie bloggers get are their friends. While it is a great start, it is important for bloggers to extend their fan base beyond their communities. In order to do that, you need to optimize your blog so you get more subscribers. These are 4 powerful ways to get more blog subscribers.

  1. You must offer an enticing free prize. Your enticing free prize gives people a reason to enter their email address. In order to convince more people to enter their email addresses, your free prize needs to be spectacular. Your free prize can’t be just another blog post. Instead, your free prize needs to be more than that. It should be at least a 20 page report, a 20 minute video, or something along those lines.   2. Write quality content that makes people come back to your blog. Most people visit your blog numerous times before they finally decide to enter their name and email address. The reason I came back to these particular blogs was because of the amazing content on those blogs. After visiting those blogs numerous times, I finally decided to enter my email address.
  3. Make your subscription box noticeable. Although there are many methods to get more subscribers, the only real way to get more subscribers is by making your subscription box noticeable. If your visitors have to navigate across your blog to find the subscription box, then they won’t bother looking. Instead, these people will visit your blog every week without entering their email address. The easiest way to have a noticeable subscription box is by putting it at the top of your blog’s sidebar. Another way to make your subscription box more noticeable is by having a small pop-up appear at the right corner of your screen when someone is halfway done with reading one of your blog posts. The Buffer Blog does a brilliant job at this, and this strategy has allowed The Buffer Blog to get over 20,000 subscribers.
  4. Build your presence on multiple social networks. Your social networks are public proof of how popular you are. If you have thousands of followers on multiple social networks, people will learn that you are popular. Some people only subscribe to popular blogs. By building your presence on social networks, you will become more popular and entice the targeted users who only subscribe to the best of the best. By growing your presence on social networks, your blog will also get more visitors, and in particular, returning visitors. Getting more traffic from your social networks is another way to get more blog subscribers. The people who decided to click the follow button will be more likely to enter their email addresses and subscribe to your blog.

Those are the four powerful ways to get more blog subscribers. Implementing these tactics will not result in a dramatic increase within a few days, but by implementing these tactics for several months, you will eventually see a dramatic increase in the number of your subscribers later on.
