7 Reasons Why You Need To Schedule Facebook Posts

July 21, 2014 by Marc Guberti 4 Comments

facebook calendar

When Facebook decided to allow people to schedule posts directly on Facebook’s site, the social media world went crazy. Being able to schedule posts on Facebook’s site meant you no longer needed to use an app like HootSuite to get the job done (HootSuite is still good for most of the other social networks). However, there are not many people who are utilizing Facebook’s scheduling feature. Some people only send posts at the moment, and some of these posts get sent when few people are paying attention to them. Scheduling Facebook posts is super important, and here are seven reasons why that is true.

  1. You can post on Facebook without being on Facebook. Are you going on a family road trip and can’t get access to your computer for the entire day? No problem. You can schedule Facebook posts the night before the road trip so people still get your Facebook posts while you are on the road trip.
  2. You can be more strategic with your posts. This is the part when Facebook insights become very useful. You can use their statistics to see when most of your fans are on Facebook. That means you can send your Facebook posts during the times that most of your fan base will see them.
  3. Your Facebook Page will get more likes. The more posts you send out, the more chances you have of someone clicking the like button. Most of the people who like one of your posts will also like your Facebook Page.
  4. Your Facebook posts will get more engagement. If you are scheduling Facebook posts on a daily basis, people will realize you are active. Some of the people who realize you are active will check your Facebook Page every day for new posts. In addition, by sending out more posts, you also get more chances of someone liking, commenting on, or sharing one of your posts.
  5. You have more time to think before you write. In a world filled with rushing and impatience, some people will rush a Facebook post and write a typo. As you are scheduling your Facebook post, you will have some time to look at what you wrote. That way, you will have a better chances of picking up typos.
  6. You get to learn about what works. If you send out enough Facebook posts, you will learn what resonates well with your audience. Then, you can focus on sending out content that resonates with your audience. As your Facebook posts get hundreds of likes, people will want to learn more about how you got to this stage (maybe through a consultation session).
  7. More people get to see your Facebook posts. One of the worst things Facebook did was preventing most of your fans from seeing your posts. Less than 20% of your fans will see your Facebook post. If you have 10 fans, then only two of those fans saw your post. Bummer, right? If you schedule enough Facebook posts throughout the day, you will be able to account for most, or if you get really lucky, all of your fans. That way, more than 20% of your audience gets to see at least one of your posts. Then, some of the people who liked the post they saw will visit your Facebook Page and like the other posts as well.

Scheduling Facebook posts eliminates the requirement of being on Facebook in order to post on Facebook. Implementing these methods will allow you to be more active on Facebook and grow your audience at the same time! What are your thoughts on these methods? Do you have any additional reasons why you schedule Facebook posts? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

Only Share What Your Target Audience Cares About

July 18, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

target audience

I know what spurious means, I know how to make a paper airplane, and I know how to grow a big social media audience.

If you are like most people who visit this blog, you don’t care about the first two things. I know what spurious means. Big deal! Let’s not forget to mention millions of people know how to make a paper airplane.

However, if you are like most people who visit this blog, you are a targeted visitor. You want to know how to get more blog traffic, get motivated, be more productive, get more eBook sales, and/or build a social media audience. That’s what you probably care about.

I’m not writing any blog posts about an SAT word study guide or tips on creating the best paper airplane because my target audience wouldn’t care about those things. The posts that get the most engagement on this blog are the ones that directly relate to what my target audience cares about.

This is why successful blogs are specific. If you write blog posts about 10 different niches, then you are going to confuse a lot of people. Confused visitors never buy your products, and they wouldn’t even think of following you on any of your social networks or entering their email to receive an update each time you publish a new blog post.

Before you click publish (or hopefully you are clicking schedule), ask yourself if your target audience would care about what you are going to publish. If yes, then click the publish button, but if you do not think your target audience would care about what you are going to publish, then do not click on the publish button.

10 Ways To Grow Your Brand On Social Media

July 17, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Social Media Branding

Your brand is a big piece of your credibility. If the brand does well on social media and builds a large audience, it builds the brand’s and your own credibility. Creating a brand was never as easy as it is now, but growing a large social media audience is not necessarily the easiest thing to do. Just because something is challenging does not mean it is impossible. Growing your brand on social media is a big goal with big long-term benefits. In order to grow you brand on social media, follow these 10 tips.

  1. Boost your engagement. Boosting your engagement shows activity with you and your followers. In addition, some of those followers will share your content and allow it to spread. Here are some tips to boosting your engagement.
  2. Be omnipresent. The more social networks you have, the more audiences you have. I have over 100,000 Twitter followers, but I also have over 10,000 Pinterest followers, over 8,000 Vine followers, and over 350 YouTube subscribers. That’s an extra 20,000 people in my social media audience.
  3. Focus 80% of your time on your three best social networks. Not all of your social media audiences will be equal. My Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and Vine audiences are the largest ones I have. I spend most of my time on Twitter and Pinterest. I spend close to the same amount of time on YouTube and Vine. This method forces you to identify your priorities and spend most of your time on those priorities.
  4. Offer giveaways on your social networks. The giveaways will attract people who would have never came. Esurance was able to get 200,000 new followers overnight because of its $1.5 million giveaway. The only mistake (but it’s a big one) that Esurance made was not giving the followers a reason to stick around. After your giveaway is over, some of the people who did not win will unfollow you. In order to prevent that from happening, tell your followers that you will be hosting 1 giveaway either every month or every quarter depending on your preference.
  5. Post valuable content. If your content is valuable, your followers will share that content and help it spread. Posting valuable content will also boost your credibility and attract people to your brand who would have never shown up.
  6. Build a targeted audience. Having a large audience is not enough. Anyone can get a large audience with some money and a fake followers provider. Building a targeted audience will result in you having an audience that already enjoyed your niche before they learned about your brand. These targeted people still enjoy the niche, but now they also enjoy getting your social media posts because they are related to the niche.
  7. Post regularly. In order to get more visibility for your brand, you need to post at a regular basis. With HootSuite, I am able to send out 1 tweet every 20 minutes. On Facebook, I am able to schedule 4 posts every day. Posting regularly will make sure you are not forgotten and that you continue to thrive on social media.
  8. Include pictures in your posts. Tweets with pictures get 10% more engagement than tweets without pictures, and Facebook posts with pictures get twice as many comments as Facebook posts without pictures. Pictures increase engagement and will allow your content to spread faster.
  9. Promote your social networks on your other social networks. Promoting one social network on all of your other social networks will not only boost your traffic, but it will also boost your chances of going viral. Here is how you can make your brand go viral with this method.
  10. Make it easy for your blog visitors to follow you on your social networks. Some people will first learn about you by visiting your blog. When you get these types of people, you should make it a goal to get as many of these people as possible to follow you on your social networks. Include social media buttons on your sidebar that link to your social networks. The best social media follow buttons to include on your blog’s sidebar are the ones that allow people to follow you on those social networks without leaving your blog.

Growing your brand is an important way to reach more customers and get more sales. Social media is one of the best tools available to grow your brand and build a large, targeted audience. What are your thoughts on using social media to grow a brand? Do you have any additional tips to grow a brand on social media? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

The Big Problem I Have Been Noticing With The Search Terms That Lead People To This Blog

July 16, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Problem

Here’s one of those search terms: “How to get 100,000 followers on Twitter within a week.”

That won’t happen. Just because celebrities gain over 10,000 followers (let’s not forget to mention that some of those followers are fake) and over 100,000 followers every week does not mean it is easy to get the same results. It takes multiple years to reach 100,000 Twitter followers, and it takes even longer to be able to gain 100,000 followers on Twitter every week. Most people never even make it to the second part let alone breaking the 100,000 milestone.

The big problem is that the search terms that have been leading people to this blog indicate no patience. You need to be very patient to go from 0 followers to 100,000 followers. If it took a week to get to 100,000, then breaking the milestone would not be impressive. If everyone is able to reach the same milestone, that milestone loses significance. That is one of the reasons why 100,000 is hard to reach, and it takes much longer than 1 week to pull it off.

If you are willing in to put in a consistent and ample amount of work every day for multiple months and years, then you will be more likely to surpass the 100,000 milestone. If you think you can get there in one week and gain tens of thousands of followers in that time frame, then it’s not going to work out very well.

There is no shortcut to success or 100,000 real followers. Patience will allow you to get there and see the results you have always dreamed of come to pass.

10 Steps To Your First 1,000 Twitter Followers

July 15, 2014 by Marc Guberti 49 Comments

1000+ Twitter Followers

If you grow a big audience on Twitter, that audience has the potential to dramatically transform your business and get more people to know about you. Many people see growing an audience on Twitter as a challenging process. Some of the people who went through the challenging process now have thousands of followers while others are almost there. Regardless of whether you just started using Twitter or have hundreds of followers, you need to reach 1,000 Twitter followers as soon as possible. Here are the 10 steps that will allow you to get there:

  1. Follow people who are likely to follow back. When you follow people who are likely to follow back, be sure to follow the people who are interested in what you talk about. Take a look at their bios and some of the people they follow to determine whether these people would be interested in what you tweet about or not. Some of the people you follow will feel obligated to follow you back because they do not want to get unfollowed.
  2. Tweet often. Tweeting often is a great way to get noticed. The more you tweet, the more chances you have of getting a retweet. Retweets will allow your content to spread on Twitter and attract more followers.
  3. Tweet valuable content. Tweet the type of content that people would want to retweet. Motivational quotes, incredible articles, and videos are some of the things that people would want to retweet.
  4. Tweet with pictures. They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. Tweeting with a picture will add more value to your tweet and boost your engagement. Tweets with pictures get 10% more engagement than tweets without pictures.
  5. Get people on your other social networks to follow you on Twitter. Your Facebook friends, people in your Google Plus circles, and Pinterest followers are some of the audiences who would follow you on Twitter. When you are trying to build an audience on your other social networks, you need to tell the audience you already have about your new account for a social network.
  6. Have conversations with others. Conversations allow you to build connections with your followers. You can also have conversations with people who are interested in what you do and can become a potential follower. It is easy to turn potential followers into followers. They just need to know about you, and having conversations with these people is a great way for them to learn about you. Here are some tips for starting a conversation on Twitter.
  7. Retweet other people’s tweets. If you are not retweeting a tweet once every week, then you are using Twitter wrong (if you’re going through my tweets…then you know what to do). When you retweet someone else’s tweet, that person will be grateful. If you retweet enough of someone’s tweets, that person will show their appreciation by following you. In addition, some people will follow you because they want their tweets to get retweeted as well.
  8. Pin your most popular tweet. Pinning your most popular tweet only allows that tweet to become more popular. When potential followers see your popular tweet, the tweet will automatically grab their attention, and then those people will follow you. A popular tweet indicates someone is popular on Twitter, and people tend to follow the accounts that are popular.
  9. Promote your Twitter account on your blog. Have a giant follow button on your blog that allows people to follow you on Twitter. Better yet, make sure people can follow you on Twitter without leaving your blog. This allows the connection to build.
  10. Get interviewed and interview others. The people who you interview or get interviewed by will tell their audience about you. Some of the people from those audiences will decide to follow you on Twitter. Here are some useful tips to finding people you can interview, getting them to accept the interview, and get people to interview you.

By implementing these steps, you will gain more Twitter followers every day. As you continue to gain more Twitter followers, you will eventually reach 1,000 followers. Surpassing the thousand mark is a big milestone that shows other people that you have the potential to thrive on Twitter. Having 1,000 Twitter followers puts you in the Top 5% of all of Twitter (based on the number of followers you have). That is a big accomplishment, and it is an accomplishment you will be able to realize by putting in the work. What are your thoughts on these steps? Do you have any additional steps you use to get more Twitter followers? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

7 Ways To Get More Followers On Vine Fast

July 13, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

vine followers

Although Vine is not as big as Twitter or Facebook, it has millions of members that generate a lot of engagement. When Instagram came out with its 15 second video loop, many people thought that Vine was dead. Remember when people tweeted out things like, “Vine (2013-2013)?” Those days are over, and people are now searching for ways to get more followers on Vine. Speaking of getting more followers on Vine, here are seven ways that you can do that.

  1. Follow other people. I follow the people who are following those “I Follow Back” accounts. Vine is the only social network that I do this for, but it works. On a typical day, when I follow enough people, I am able to gain 300 followers every day. This even happened when I didn’t send a Vine for an entire month. I just continued to follow these people’s followers to grow my audience.
  2. Post 1 Vine every day. Although the first method grows your following without requiring you to post on Vine, you will be able to spread faster on Vine by posting often. The people with millions of followers on Vine are the ones who post new vines consistently. Their audience shares their content and ultimately results in the vines spreading. If people who happen to see your vines think they are good, then those people will decide to follow you.
  3. Tweet out your vines. Tweets with vines get more engagement than the tweets without vines. In addition, you get to tap into the audience that you already built on Twitter. If you continue tweeting your vines, your Vine audience will grow as your Twitter audience grows.
  4. Tell your friends about your Vine account. Your friends may be the first ones to like and revine your vines (which allows your vines to spread). The likes and revines may not come right away, but if you tell enough of your friends about your vines, some of those friends will help your vines spread.
  5. Get a group of friends together and do vines together. It seems as if there multiple groups of famous viners who happen to know each other and appear in each other’s vines. If you get a group of friends together to do the same thing, you will all have each other’s audiences. If you get five of your friends who have 1,000 followers each, that’s an audience of 5,000. As you tag each other in various vines, members of the audience will learn to enjoy your vines and your friends’ vines.
  6. Use Instagram. Vine allows you to create 6 second videos that repeat in a loop, but they do not allow you to take pictures. Instagram is the solution. When you need to take a picture, take one with Instagram. Then, be sure to tell people on Vine to follow you on Instagram. The more social networks people follow you on, the less likely they will be to forget about you.
  7. Comment on other people’s vines. Leaving comments on other people’s vines is an easy way to get noticed. When you comment on other people’s vines, don’t just ask for a shoutout or a follow back. Instead, leave a relevant comment. Leaving a relevant comment will also boost your chances of getting another follower.

Growing your audience on Vine does not have to be impossible. Most of the people on Vine with over 1 million followers are teenagers. Anyone has the ability to thrive on Vine if they know how. Implementing these methods will allow you to build a big audience on Vine fast.
