Usefulness And The Use

September 13, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

When people make a decision about which product to buy or what to clean out, they are all focused on the usefulness. If the TV doesn’t work anymore, it isn’t useful anymore. It has to be removed. When the old TV gets removed, it’s time to get a new one. A wide screen plasma TV with HD pictures and great volume is useful.

A closet can be useful, but if the closet is a mess, it isn’t very useful. I cleaned my closet last week, and I have finally been able to learn about how useful a closet can actually be.

There are plenty of valuable books out there. There’s Contagious, The Power Of Habit, and others as well. They are very useful. They will help you out big time. Whether you want to go viral or have powerful habits, those books will help. They’re useful.

WordPress is useful. Google is useful. Social networks are useful.

What about the use? If someone actually buys the plasma TV with HD pictures and great volume, but that TV doesn’t get used, it isn’t useful. It’s worthless. If a clean closet doesn’t get used, it isn’t useful. If a book isn’t read, it isn’t useful because it wasn’t read in the first place.

There are many things that are useful, but they are only useful if they are actually used.

5 Creative Ways To Generate And Keep Buzz On Instagram

September 13, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Unlike other social networks, Instagram relies on the fact that you are taking pictures primarily from your mobile device. Other social networks allow you to use a picture from the web or no picture at all.

Business owners and brands are now using Instagram, and the total number of users on Instagram has shot up like a rocket. However, few people are actually generating the buzz on Instagram so that people look at their products and services.

  1. Post 1-5 picture every day. If you have 10 pictures that you want to post today, it’s better to spread them out over a period of time so you have enough pictures to post for the entire week. Consistency is more important than getting a fast start.
  2. Host a giveaway. This method works well on any social network, but especially Instagram where you can take a picture of yourself holding the prize and sharing it with everyone. That picture will definitely get a lot of likes.
  3. Comment On Other People’s Pictures. The more times people see you on Instagram, the more they will remember your presence. When more people remember, this allows you to generate and keep the buzz. People who are remembered are the ones who become successful.
  4. Promote your Instagram account and pictures on your blog. The more you promote your Instagram account and pictures, the more traffic and followers you will get. Promoting all of that on your own blog is a great way to increase traffic and get more followers. This applies for any social network.
  5. Build a following. There are plenty of ways to do this. All four of the above ways will help you get a following while generating and keeping buzz. Another great way to build a following on Instagram is by following others back.

My Favorite Word

September 12, 2013 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

Is “yet.”

I used to say, “I don’t have a blog, yet.”

The word yet makes it sound as if it is actually going to happen.

I can’t use that sentence. I have a blog.

I use that word for anything that I am not that I would like to become.

Most of the time, when I use that word, I end up becoming what I wanted to become.

I’m not a bestselling author, yet. I’m not making money on eBay, yet. I don’t have hundreds of thousands of followers, yet.

Proclaim what you want to be. Add the word “yet” at the end of your sentence. Watch yourself end up becoming what you wanted to become.

Imprinting

September 12, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Imprinting is when baby ducks follow the first thing they see. That’s why when the baby ducks come out of the egg, they usually see the mother duck. If they see you, that’s a problem.

However, there is a different type of imprinting that is always good when you are the first person seen. In the real world, you want people to imprint your business. The only way you get people to imprint, or follow your business, is by being first. Set yourself apart from the competition, and consumers will imprint on you.

They won’t follow you back home, watch you brush your teeth, or do anything else strange like that. However, they will buy your products and services. When another competitor comes along, the consumers already chose someone to imprint; you.

You want people to imprint your business. Not only will they follow your business, but they will also trust your products and services. Trust leads to sales and returning consumers who become clients.

When baby ducks imprint, they imprint on the first thing they see. It doesn’t matter if the next duck they see is ten times smarter than the first duck they saw. It doesn’t matter if the next duck they see is way more beautiful than the duck they imprinted on. The first thing a baby duck sees, it imprints. There’s no way around it.

The Past Cannot Be Undone

September 11, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

No matter what happened, it cannot be changed. It’s hard to imagine all of the events that took place just 12 years ago. The New York skyline isn’t what it used to be. Many people were effected by the events that occurred on this infamous date. Many people whose families weren’t directly effected still dread this date.

Looking at any of the pictures or watching any of the documentaries of the events that occurred just 12 years ago get me teary eyed to this day. Writing this blog post made me teary eyed. Just two years ago, I went to the area where the two towers stood. All of my energy got drained out of me. Some of the people who were in the towers were our friends. Seeing their names hurt.

Today is the saddest day for America. The nation will mourn the loss of loved ones and become frustrated that such events had to occur. This cycle will forever continue. However, life continues for the rest of us.

The past cannot be undone. These events cannot be changed. They are what they are. There are victims who were in the towers, but there are also victims still alive who lost loved ones.

After everything happened, we as a country were given two choices. Stay down or rise above the rubble. We will never forget the past, and we will never forget the events that occurred only 12 years ago, but each year, we as individuals can either stay down or rise above the rubble.

Rise above the rubble. Continue living in the present, but remember everything that happened on this date.

The Advantage Of Having Few Choices

September 11, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Decisions are made faster as impatience builds.

When there’s only a few products to choose from (less than five), consumers are most likely to buy something.

Although they may not be returning customers until the next product comes out, you are sure to get more sales from some product versus getting some sales from many products (it is possible for products to make a lot of sales even if there are a lot of other choices).

When it comes out that the company plans to come out with a new product, they get tons of sales for the new product because the impatience of the consumers goes out of the roof. The new product becomes sold out in a matter of days.
