One Pinterest Tip That Gets Overlooked

March 20, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

There are numerous blog posts on the web that offer tips on Pinterest. I have written several blog posts about Pinterest myself, but I recently came across a tip that many people were overlooking. This tip, if implemented, will result in strong connections with your followers.

When a pin gets liked or repinned, we get notified. Then, the number shows up and we can see how many times our pins were liked and repinned. However, we are also able to see who liked our pins and who repinned our pins.

This is an important feature that can allow us to build stronger connections with our followers. The people who liked your pins are most likely following you. Since that is the case, you can check to see if you are following them. If you find someone who liked your pin but you are not following, you can make the change by clicking the follow button. Following this person will encourage that person to like and repin more of your pins.

In addition, you should go on each of these people’s profiles and thank them for liking your pin. When leaving a “thank you” comment, leave this comment on a pin with no comments and remind the person what pin they liked. Getting this thank you will encourage this person to like more of your pins.

By seeing the people who like and repin your pins, you will be able to see the people who are paying the most attention to what you pin. By finding these people, you will be able to build strong connections that results in your content spreading on Pinterest.

4 Ways To Get More Likes On Pinterest

March 18, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

On Pinterest, likes on a pin indicates popularity. The more likes a pin has, the more popular it is. Likes also help out in letting you know how much quality attention (compared to attention) your pins are getting on your followers’ timelines. Getting more likes on Pinterest will also encourage more people to follow you and like the pin. The thinking process is that if a lot of people like the pin, the pinner and the pin are both good. This equates to a follow, like, and maybe a repin. These are some of the many advantages of getting more likes on Pinterest, and without any further adieu, here are the 4 ways to get more likes on Pinterest.

  1. Build a targeted following. A targeted following is a group of people who are interested in what you pin about before seeing your pins. People interested in social media, business, and blogging are my targeted followers. When they see my pins, they already like the topic which makes them more likely to like my pins.
  2. Pin the things that you would like. Liking your own pins is a desperate plee to get other people to see a number in the like column. However, if the pin was sent by someone else, would you click on the like button? Send out the pins that you like, and in return, some of your targeted followers will like the pin as well.
  3. Host a giveaway that requires likes. I got 3 likes and 3 repins in a matter of minutes after I hosted a giveaway for my Power Blogging Training Course. If I extended the date of the giveaway, I could have probably gotten more likes and repins. When you are hosting a giveaway, the prize plays a big role towards how many likes the pin gets.
  4. Promote your pins on your blog. Your blog is a great place to promote your pins. After reading your blog posts and seeing one of your pins, some of your visitors will like your pins.

Those are 4 ways to get more likes on your pins. What did you think of the list, and what other tips would you like to share? Please share your thoughts and insights below.

5 Pinterest Mistakes To Avoid (Part 3)

March 1, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

A very long time ago, I wrote Part 1. A little further back, I wrote Part 2. This is Part 3 which contains 5 more mistakes that you need to avoid on Pinterest. Although Pinterest is not the largest social network out there, it has grown at a rate faster than all of the other social networks. If you want to optimize on Pinterest’s constantly growing platform, avoid these 5 mistakes:

  1. Not taking advantage of a powerful social network. The biggest mistake you can make is ignoring Pinterest. Pinterest has the potential to dramatically increase your blog’s traffic, and the average pin have been proven to get more engagement than the average tweet.
  2. Not paying attention to analytics. Although there are no free Pinterest analytics tools that offer as much information as TwitterCounter, there are plenty of free Pinterest analytics tools out there. I commonly use Tailwind to see my statistics based on my change in follower count and pin count. Other features become accessible through upgrades.
  3. Only pinning the same thing once. When a board has hundreds of repins, your followers are less likely to scroll all the way down to the first pin. I pin my blog posts more than once, and that results in an increase in traffic.
  4. Not liking a lot of pins. When someone sees that you have liked thousands of pins, they will realize that you are a very active user on Pinterest. In addition, you can like pins to organize all of the pins that you want to repin. By using this method, some people unlike the pins after they repin them. This prevents hundreds of repins clogging up your followers’ timelines.
  5. Not having multiple boards with 100+ pins. When multiple boards have over 100 pins, your followers will have more pins to look at. It is better to have 10 boards with 100 pins each than it is to have 100 boards with 10 pins each. Quality beats quantity, but when you can combine them both together, you will get more engagement on Pinterest.

These are 5 mistakes that too many people make on Pinterest. However, there are other mistakes that people make on Pinterest as well. You can go back to Part 1 and Part 2 in order to see 10 additional mistakes that people make on Pinterest.

5 Ways To Get More Offers On Loop88

February 21, 2014 by Marc Guberti 3 Comments

loop88

Loop88 is a growing website that allows you to make money on Pinterest identical to how Sponsored Tweets allows people to make money on Twitter. However, getting more offers on Loop88 can seem to take forever, especially for people who are just starting out. Here are 5 tips that will allow you to get more offers on Loop88 and make more money with your pins.

  1. Grow a targeted following. Following others is essential towards getting more followers on Pinterest. These are some other ways to get more followers that you should know about.
  2. Underprice your pins. When I had 8,000 followers, Loop88 estimated that my pins were worth $25 each. I decided to price my pins at $5 each instead. Drastically underpricing myself resulted in more offers. This underpricing method focuses on a quantity of offers instead of getting the one offer for $25. It is more likely for someone to get multiple offers at a lower price than it is for someone to get a single offer with a high price.
  3. Be active on Pinterest. Send out at least 20 pins on Pinterest every day. Advertisers like to see recent activity on Pinterest, and if your pins get repins and likes, that increases your odds of getting an offer.
  4. Have a variety of boards. With a wide range of topics, you will get more advertisers. On Pinterest, branching out from your niche is ideal towards getting more followers as well. If you pin about technology and fashion, you will be able to get advertisers who want you to share their pins related to technology and fashion. The more different topics you pin about, the better.
  5. Pin the offers you are given. When advertisers see you pin other people’s offers, they konw that you are very likely to pin their offers as well. Advertisers will approach you knowing that you are very likely to pin their offer.

Those are the 5 ways to get more offers on Loop88. I am approaching my first payout and hope to have it in my PayPal account by the end of the first quarter. What are your experiences with Loop88, and if you have any additional tips, please share them below.

Pinterest has the potential to dramatically increase your traffic. However, there are some people who use their other social networks more than Pinterest. It’s easier to work with a social network account that already has 1,000 followers than it is to create a Pinterest account and get it to 1,000 followers. There are also some people with over 100,000 followers on other social network accounts, and Pinterest is not the focus.

In order to get the best results from Pinterest, you gotta be pin it to win it. Like all social networks, There are many tips to get more followers, and by implementing those tactics, you will see results. By implementing tactics to increase followers for any social network, you will see results.

Pinterest is different in some ways compared to other social networks, but in other ways, Pinterest is the same. People don’t stick with Pinterest because they see it as a different playing field with different rules to become successful. However, many of the rules are the same such as the rule about following back.
