Why Social Media, 3D Printing, And Cars Are Huge

September 18, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

There are over a billion people on Facebook. There are over half a billion people on Twitter. All of the social networks have millions of users. It’s not a mystery as to how social media is huge. If you say it’s because people can now talk to each other faster, you’d be wrong.

The reason why social media is huge is because it’s revolutionary. Social media dramatically improved one aspect of life. The fact that social media improved human interaction is just a coincidence.

3D printing is going to be really huge. It’s not because you can now print 3D objects that 3D printing is going to be huge. 3D printing is going to be huge because it’s a dramatic improvement of one aspect of life. If you hand make something, you can use a replicator to create a 3D file of what you handmade. Creating your own unique product couldn’t be any easier.

Cars are huge. Almost everyone has a car. There are plenty of traffic jams to account for that. The reason why cars are huge is because cars were a dramatic improvement. Instead of riding on a horse when you go somewhere, you can drive in a car (assuming you have a license). Cars go a lot faster than horses, but even when a car is going slower than a horse, it has its benefits. The car can go on as long as there’s gasoline left in the tank. A horse can only go on until it gets tired or hungry.

If you can find a way to dramatically improve an aspect of life whether that aspect is travel, communication, or something else, you will become a member of the elite.

How To Tweet Your Way To Glory

September 16, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Everyone is looking for ways to get more followers. Some people are close to 1,000 followers, other people are close to 10,000 followers, and there are some people who are also close to 100,000 followers. In order to get those followers, you need to keep on tweeting. However, not all tweets are tweeted equal. There are some ways to get more followers just by using those 140 characters well.

The first way to tweet your way to glory is to use RT or r/t at the end of some of your tweets. These tweets can be links to really good articles or links to your blog posts. If you include RT or r/t at the end of your tweet, your tweet is more likely to get retweeted.

The second way to tweet your way to glory is to tweet inspirational quotes every once in a while. I tweet once an hour, and four of those tweets are inspirational quotes. Many of my tweets that are inspirational quotes are retweeted.

The third way to tweet your way to glory is to capitalize the first letter of every word for the title of a blog post or article. If you decide to share this article on Twitter, the best way to share it is by tweeting, “How To Tweet Your Way To Glory: LINK” Note that even the “To’s are capitalized. Capitalize the first letter of every word if you are copying the title from a blog or article.

The fourth way to tweet your way to glory is to tweet frequently and consistently. If you always tweet at a certain time, people will know when you will tweet. If you tweet every hour like I do, you will constantly appear on your followers’ timelines. When someone is following 5,000 people, and you only tweet once a day, that follower won’t see your tweet if they login 5 minutes later. Tweet frequently and consistently.

The fifth way to tweet your way to glory is to start conversation. When you start conversations, and they continue for a long period of time, you are more likely to get a customer or someone who subscribes to your blog.

Go forth and tweet your way to glory.

September 1

September 1, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

The countdown starts. I’ll be going back to school soon while I know others have already started. Although you may not be going to school, changes are you have a lot of things to do during this span (September to June) compared to the summer as well. This is why systematizing your business or at least finding some areas to systematize is essential towards the growth of your business.

Find ways to make things happen automatically. Scheduling tweets isn’t exactly a systematized process because I schedule tweets every day. However, when I’m in school, I don’t have to take out my phone to send out a tweet. HootSuite does that for me.

That’s why I did 52 videos in August for YouTube because I publish 1 video every week. Those videos are scheduled, and now I don’t have to go back to YouTube until next summer. I have the choice of whether or not to use YouTube throughout the entire school year.

I wrote a majority of my books over the summer because I won’t get as much time when school starts. All of the books I mentioned in blog posts were finished in summer. I have from now until June to write an entire book.

I have scheduled blog posts days in advance in the event I got a test that I needed to study for throughout the night. I am scheduling even more blog posts just to make sure nothing happens.

I have only attended business expos in the summer. If I had to attend business expos on a weekly or even a monthly basis, I would be faced with a schedule conflict.

I read books (not given as summer homework) over the summer so I won’t have to worry about them when school starts. I will be reading every night when school starts, and reading 2 books simultaneously never works.

If scheduling pins were free, I would have scheduled pins for a long amount of time. I’ll have enough time to send out 10-30 pins a day despite there not being a free way to schedule pins…yet.

If I didn’t systematize my business at all, having to maintain school, track, and my business would have been difficult. However, I have been able to systematize many aspects of my business. The only things I have to do throughout the school year are tweet, pin, write 1 book, and write blog posts.

Going into summer, I knew some ways of systematizing my business. I knew writing books and scheduling blog posts (only to a certain degree) could be systematized going into the summer.

I didn’t read any books this summer until the middle of July. I didn’t even bother doing YouTube videos until the middle of August (a lot of videos have been done in the process. They’re all done though).

Last year, I had nothing systematized. This blog didn’t even exist last year. I kept on doing the same amount of work day in and day out. I wrote books during the school year, and as a freshman at the time, the school work was the easiest. I got lucky.

When I go back to school, I will know that parts of my business are systematized. Doing a YouTube video doesn’t have to be a part of my schedule until June. I only need to write one book, and if I finish that by the New Year, I won’t have to worry about writing another book for 6 months.

Not all of the parts of my business are systematized, but enough of them are. Next year, I will be able to systematize even more parts of my business. I only started systematizing YouTube less than 15 days ago. Next summer, I’ll have 3 entire months to do that. I may be able to systematize my pins (by then, some kind of Pinterest scheduler will have launched). I may have more days scheduled on this blog. I may read 20 books next summer that weren’t assigned by my teachers (20 books in a summer is setting the bar high, but I would rather set the bar high than set the bar low).

Last year, nothing was systematized. This year, some parts of my business are systematized. Next year, a majority of my business will be systematized. What can you do today, tomorrow, this week, or this month to systematize your business? Start systematizing now!

20 Social Media Statistics That You Need To Know

August 26, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

It’s always difficult to decide which social network you should use. All of the social networks have millions of members. I use Twitter and Pinterest every day. I will be using other social networks every day as well (Instagram, Tumblr, and Google+).

I am not jumping right into those social networks because it’s better to focus on an individual social network. Once I reach 3,000 followers on Pinterest, I’ll incorporate another social network into my business plan (UPDATE: I now have over 3,000 followers on Pinterest).

You may be juggling around social networks, or you don’t know which social network is right for you. These are 20 interesting statistics that will help you decide which social network to use.

  1. Pinterest users spend an average of $180 per purchase which is far greater than any other social network. Facebook users are second at $85.
  2. The fastest growing demographic on Twitter is the 55-64 age bracket.
  3. Companies that generate over 1,000 likes also receive nearly 1,400 visitors on their website a day.
  4. 50% of Twitter users are more likely to purchase from brands they follow.
  5. 80% of pins are repins.
  6. 40% of marketers use Google+.
  7. 45 million photos are uploaded to Instagram every day. That’s 521 photos every second!
  8. Instagram has grown very fast in less than 3 years.
  9. 24% of teenagers who use the web also have Twitter. Some of them are moving from Facebook to Twitter.
  10. Facebook has 665 million users who are active every day.
  11. Over 6 billion hours of video are watched every month.
  12. Companies with over 1,000 followers generate more than 800 visitors to their website every month. I can vouch for that.
  13. Pinterest hit 10 million unique U.S. visitors per month faster than any other website in history. It’s growing, and it’s growing fast.
  14. One out of every 7 minutes spent online is on Facebook.
  15. The average Pinterest user has 171 pins, 229 followers, 3 boards, and 28 likes.
  16. 720 million minutes were spent using Pinterest’s mobile app in 2012.
  17. 60% of Google+ users log in every day while 80% of Google+ users log in every week.
  18. Every minute, 700 YouTube videos are shared on Twitter.
  19. There are 2.1 million LinkedIn groups.
  20. Over 400 million tweets are sent every day.

11 Ways To Get More Retweets On Twitter

August 23, 2013 by Marc Guberti 7 Comments

When your tweet gets retweeted, it is being shared to potentially thousands of people. If you get retweeted by a person with over 100,000 followers, your tweet will be in front of over 100,000 other people. This is why it’s becoming more important to get those retweets. Here are 11 ways to get more retweets.

  1. Tweet consistently. If you want people to retweet, they have to know when you tweet. Use HootSuite to schedule your tweets.
  2. Tweet motivational quotes. Everyone is looking for those quotes, and almost all of the motivational quotes I tweet get retweeted.
  3. Have a following. Having a following always helps out towards getting more retweets. If you don’t have your first 1,000 followers yet, here are 10 proven ways to get your first 1,000 followers.
  4. Retweet other people’s tweets. Give and you shall receive.
  5. Start more conversations. The people who you talk with may decide to retweet one of your tweets.
  6. Include RT, rt, or r/t at the end of your tweet. Asking improves your changes as long as you avoid saying, “Please Retweet.”
  7. Put tweets up on your blog. Although I don’t do this, I have a Twitter icon which leads to my account. Both work.
  8. Make your tweets retweet-worthy. A tweet with a typo doesn’t get retweeted by anyone. Everyone will notice the typo instead of the rest of the tweet.
  9. Be relevant. If you tweet about baseball, news about baseball teams is what your followers want to see.
  10. Stay on the lookout for the ripple effect. If someone retweets your tweet to 100,000 followers, chances are that some of those 100,000 followers are going to retweet your tweet as well. You won’t get all 100,000 followers to retweet your tweet, and you’d be lucky if you got 100 of them to retweet your tweet. However, you’re bound to get at least 10 retweets that way. The small ripple turns into a big ripple, and then you become viral (being viral isn’t as easy as it sounds though).
  11. Keep on tweeting. You only get all of those tweets by not giving up. When you keep on tweeting, you will eventually get to 100,000 followers. You won’t need the person with 100,000 followers to retweet your tweets. You’ll be that guy with 100,000 followers.

If It Were Easy

August 21, 2013 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Everyone would be doing it.

If being a bestselling author was easy, everyone would be writing their own book and becoming the next bestselling author.

If having a million Twitter followers was easy, everyone would be on Twitter talking with over a million followers.

If having a mansion was easy, everyone would move into a mansion or turn their house into a mansion.

If having a successful business was easy, everyone would be an entrepreneur, and none of them would quit. Sadly, over 90% of them quit within the first 5 years.

If coming up with a big idea was easy, everyone would be thinking of big ideas. The people who can’t think of big ideas sell products similar to their competition.

If running the mile was easy, everyone would be running that mile without stopping. It isn’t as easy as it appear.

However, it’s not easy. That’s why few people do the difficult tasks. The safety zone is not safe at all. Everyone is in the safety zone which makes individuals in the safety zone become invisible.

Becoming a bestselling author, having a million Twitter followers, having a mansion, having a successful business, coming up with a big idea, and running the mile are not easy. As we get more experience, these tasks become easier.

After writing a lot of books, an author can build a following and eventually become a bestselling author.

After consistently tweeting for years and going viral, it is possible for someone to reach a million followers without knowing how to sing well or buying a million followers.

Everyone who started with a business started at the bottom. Macintosh computers were first made in garage. Now Apple is a multibillion dollar company that pays billions of dollars in taxes. They can pay those billion dollars in taxes and still make a profit with their Macs, iPhones, iPads, and more. Amazon started out as a bookstore. Now Jeff Bezos is a billionaire who recently bought the Washington Post. Not bad for “another bookstore.”

When someone thinks of a big idea, and creates a business based on that big idea, that person has a good chance of becoming successful. Twitter, Facebook. Instagram, Pinterest, and Google are some of the big ideas. The person who came up with an idea for any of these social networks (or Google) is either a millionaire or a billionaire. That’s not bad for an idea that started out on paper. Back in 2004, people would have looked at you funny if you talked about Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest. Google was around at that time, but Google+ was not.

Running the mile becomes easy after a lot of practice. People give up when they run the mile for the first time because it’s excruciating. The people who run day after day will be able to easily run the mile.

It’s not easy, but with practice, dedication, and commitment, you will make it easy.
