Twitter Case Study: When I Decided To Tweet Every 30 Minutes

January 22, 2014 by Marc Guberti 15 Comments

twitter conversation

Twitter is the big reason why a lot of people know about me. I tweet every hour so people see me frequently. When people see me frequently, this builds trust. Twitter ensured 125 daily visitors to my blog, and this only happened when I decided to tweet 1 hour every day.

The need for exponential growth is critical towards success. In order to increase my exponential growth, I decided to tweet every 30 minutes. I tested this out one day, and I was very pleased with the results. On the first day I tweeted every 30 minutes, I got over 200 visitors which is more than a 25% increase in traffic from Twitter. After making the change, my blog was consistently getting 200+ visitors from Twitter every day. As my following on Twitter grows, that statistic continues to go up.

Scheduling that many tweets requires twice as much time. That’s 48 tweets a day! My approach to saving time is to create a document and have a list of all of the timeless content that you want to tweet. This strategy constantly gives you 48 articles to tweet about. By finding new articles to tweet about, you will have a greater variety of tweets.

Does tweeting a lot annoy your followers? I am sure there are people who think that tweeting every 30 minutes will annoy their followers. However, that is not the case. The average user is on Twitter for 20 minutes. That means most of your followers will only see one of your tweets each time they go on Twitter.

Tweeting every 30 minutes has dramatically increased my blog traffic, retweets, and clicks (which have doubled). Tweeting every 30 minutes does require a lot of work, but the extra work does have its benefits.

5 Ways To Double Your Blog’s Traffic

January 21, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

The one thing on every blogger’s mind is getting more traffic that will lead to more sales, subscribers, and visibility. Doubling traffic is the dream of many bloggers. Whether that means going from 10 daily visitors to 20 daily visitors or going from 500 daily visitors to 1,000 daily visitors, bloggers want to double their traffic. In this blog post, I will show you five different ways to double your traffic. That means you will be able to get 10 times more traffic than now by implementing these tactics. I decided to add links to some of my older blog posts in order to provide more information about certain topics.

  1. Use Twitter to promote your blog. When you use Twitter to promote your blog, you need to grow a targeted following and consistently tweet frequently. Be sure to start and respond to conversations. Conversations on Twitter have the potential to lead to friendships and powerful connections. I tweet as frequently as I can throughout the day so more people see my blog. Tweeting a link to your blog at 3 pm does no good if most of your followers happen to use Twitter at 6 pm.
  2. Improve your blog’s SEO. By improving your blog’s SEO, people will have an easier time finding your blog on Google’s search engines. These are some tactics that will help you improve your blog’s SEO, but one of the easiest ones to implement is bounce rate. All you have to do is have links to your older blog posts in your new blog posts in order to get a lower bounce rate. After improving my blog’s SEO, my visitors stuck around because of my blog’s low bounce rate, and I saw an immediate increase in search engine traffic.
  3. Use Pinterest to promote your blog too. When you use Pinterest to promote your blog, you need to include pictures on your blog. Adding pictures helped me get a lot of traffic, and adding a “Pin It” button at the bottom of my blog posts increased the amount of times people shared my blog posts. A great way to get more Pinterest followers is by following others with this strategy in mind. As your boards get more pins, it will be okay to pin the same blog post multiple times because people are not likely to scroll all the way down. By consistently pinning old and new blog posts, your blog will be able to get more traffic.
  4. Guest blog on other people’s blogs. Guest blogging puts your content in front of a larger audience. That means more people will tweet your blog posts, share them on Facebook, pin them, and use all of the other social networks to tell more people about you. While it is important to start guest blogging as soon as possible, it is also important to identify the best guest blogging opportunity for you. Although people do not always come directly to your blog from the guest post, they will see your name more often. As people see you more frequently, they will have more trust in you. With that trust, they will look at your blog posts, subscribe to your blog, and buy your products.
  5. Get more people to write about you. These are the methods I use to get more people to write about me. By getting more people to write about you, more people will notice you. Having a remarkable story always helps out when it comes to getting more people to write about you.

Those are the 5 tactics I used to double my blog traffic. By implementing all five of these tactics, my blog went from 40 daily views to over 400 daily views in a few months. All of these tactics take time in order to see the results. However, after a few months, you will be able to see the big increase in traffic that all bloggers dream of.

New Year’s Resolutions: Memory Or Lifestyle?

January 21, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

new year resolutions

It no longer seems as if the New Year was yesterday. Creating the list of resolutions is now a memory of the past. This is the part of the journey where many people give up on their New Year’s resolutions. Writing down your New Year’s resolutions will be a memory for all of us. However, the motivation we had on New Year’s Day cannot be a memory. Instead, the motivation we got on New Year’s Day needs to be a lifestyle.

There are 365 days in a year, and in order to accomplish your resolutions for the year, you need to have the lifestyle that will set you up for success. Today is a very important day to remind yourself about the motivational feeling you felt on New Year’s Day. You need to bring that motivational feeling back into the present and keep it there. Even if this process takes an entire week, it is important to bring back that sense of motivation.

When you bring back a sense of motivation, you will give yourself a new mental mindset as you tackle your goals. By combining your motivation with effective time management, you will be able to get more accomplished in a shorter amount of time. The motivation will be surging within you, and the output will be all of the results you wanted.

In order to accomplish your resolutions, the motivation you felt on New Year’s Day needs to be carried from the starting line to the finish line. After the first mile of a marathon, many runners forget about the beginning of the marathon when they were motivated. In order to cross the finish line, you need to have that motivation from the start and carry it all the way. Once you carry the motivation all the way to the finish line, never let go of that motivation.

The 5 Elements Of A Remarkable Story

January 20, 2014 by Marc Guberti 3 Comments

Storytelling has been a part of humanity for thousands of years. From oral tradition to the manuscript, stories are a part of humanity that will never go away. Young kids listen to bedtime stories as they fall asleep. They read about fictional characters and then explore nonfiction stories. Whether we read books or hear it from someone else, we will never outgrow our need for good stories.

But what about your story? Chances are you have a remarkable story. You have lost a lot of pounds, been more productive than ever before, got a big accomplishment, went from rags to riches, or something.

In order to get the optimal impact from your remarkable story (word of mouth marketing, an increase in sales, etc), you need to implement the elements of a remarkable story.

The first element of a remarkable story is struggle. When, where, and how did you struggle? Were you struggling to get work done, were you struggling to put meat on the table, or were you struggling in another way? People need to know the struggle in order to get an idea of how far you have come.

The second element of a remarkable story is the life changing moment. There was a day in your life when you decided the way you were living was not good enough. This turning point allowed you to get to where you are today. Talk in detail about the life changing moment. Many people remember their life changing moments as if they were yesterday.

The third element of a remarkable story is implementing the life change. Maybe you had to put in some extra hours at the office, or you decided that you needed to do a new workout.

The fourth element of a remarkable story is the results. Where did the work get you. Did you get thousands of followers, sell a business for over a million dollars, or something else? The more positive results you can come up with, the better.

The fifth and final element of a remarkable story is your philosophy. Now that people have read your remarkable story, tell them your philosophy. This gives you a chance to write a mini blog post in your remarkable story. If your philosophy makes a lot of sense, people will come to the conclusion that your blog posts are quality content that also make a lot of sense.

Those are the 5 elements of a remarkable story. What’s your story?

4 Reasons Why You Need A Remarkable Story

January 20, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Do you have a remarkable story? Did you lose a certain number of pounds in a quick amount of time? Did you quit your job to create a thriving business? Think of that remarkable story, and put it up on the web where everyone can see it. Here are four reasons that you should have one.

  1. Visitors will know you for something incredible. People who visit your blog for the first time and read your story are going to stick around if the story is remarkable. These people are less likely to forget about you because forgetting about your remarkable story seems impossible. As a result, they keep on visiting.
  2. More people will notice you. The web is a very big place, and being noticed on the web is the most challenging stage for anyone (unless you were a celebrity before you went on the web). People will notice you because of your story. As more people notice you, your blog traffic and sales will increase.
  3. Your story will spread. Word of mouth is a big factor towards how many people get to know about you. Remarkable stories spread, and if your story is remarkable, you will be able to get more visibility.
  4. More people will remember you. People will remember you as that person who did something remarkable. Many of the people I talk to on Twitter are amazed with the fact that I am a teenager. That’s my remarkable story (maybe a book that gets published in 2014). People will remember you for your remarkable story as well.

A remarkable story can be the difference between eager visitors and visitors who are not fully sold on the concept of your blog and products. What’s your story?

The Specious Pursuit For Perfection

January 19, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

perfection

The problem with new entrepreneurs and business owners is that they have never made a single mistake in their newly acquired profession. The person who just started using Twitter a few minutes ago has not made a mistake yet. The person who just gave their business a name has not made a mistake yet.

New entrepreneurs want to be perfect, or at least, perfect for as long as they can remain that way. Blog posts get triple checked, 10 people read the blog post before it gets published, and if one person says no, the blog post never makes it to your blog.

The pursuit for perfection is specious. Perfection looks really good. When we think of perfection, we think of having millions of people eager to buy your next product or eager to tell others about you. These people love everything that you do, and they tell you all about it. Perfection is having a flawless product that everyone enjoys.

Although the pursuit for perfection appears to be good, it is actually very bad. That’s what makes the entire pursuit by definition specious. It appears good when it really isn’t. The reason this pursuit is not the ideal one to have is because there is no such thing as the perfect business or perfect product.

The reason nothing can be perfect is because everyone has a different style of thinking. I cannot imagine using any other phone than the iPhone. I do not see any phone better than the iPhone and would not even want to imagine myself without an iPhone. Some people are going to completely agree with me. Others are going to look at the texts they got on their Androids and wonder what’s wrong with me.

We all have different opinions about different things. There is no such thing as the perfect product because a product for everyone is a product for no one.

Whether you are a startup, a blogger, or you have been in business for over 10 years, do not seek perfection. Perfection is unattainable. Instead of going for perfection, find your target audience and try to be as close to perfect as possible to them. You won’t be able to reach perfection, but you will be able to get close if you focus on the right people.
