How To Keep The Momentum Going On Your Blog

March 24, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Everyone is focused on getting more traffic to their blogs. However, few people focus on keeping the momentum going. This results in a big spike, and then traffic continues as if the big spike had never happened. In order to keep the traffic that you gain, you need to keep the momentum going on your blog.

There is no better way to keep the momentum going than by getting more subscribers. By getting people to subscribe to your blog, they will be constantly notified every time you come out with a new blog post. As these people read several blog posts on your blog, some of them will decide to buy your products. In addition, they will visit your blog frequently. Having a subscription box that is easy to see is one of the many ways to get more subscribers on your blog.

Getting people to subscribe to your blog is not enough. Once a subscriber visits your blog for a second time, or when you get a first time visitor, you want those people to stay on your blog for as long as possible. In order to get more people to stay on your blog, you need to reduce your blog’s bounce rate. Reducing your blog’s bounce rate will increase the amount of time a visitors stays on your blog.

In addition, you need to make it easy for people to share your blog posts on their social networks. I have social sharing buttons at the end of all of my blog posts. This allows people to easily share my content across multiple platforms. Do not forget to add pictures to your blog posts so people can share your blog posts on Pinterest.

By keeping the momentum on your blog, you will be able to keep most of the traffic that you gain when you see a spike in traffic. It is possible to have 50 daily visitors and suddenly encounter a spike where you get 200 visitors for the day. By implementing these tactics and having your blog battle-ready, you will be able to keep most of the people from the spike in traffic. Instead of falling back to 50 daily visitors, you may be able to get 75-100 daily visitors after the spike is over.

An Overlooked Way To Get More Traffic

March 2, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

There are plenty of ways to get more blog traffic. I recently read Yaro Starak’s free report about building an income with a blog. The free report taught me some things about blogging that I did not know…including an overlooked way to get more traffic.

Here’s what many people overlook: In order to get more traffic, you need to get more daily visitors on your blog. This seems like a statement you would find on the UberObvious Twitter feed. However, this is actually an effective way to get more traffic.

The more daily visitors you get, the more likely there will be someone who visits your blog and has a big following. If your blog is getting 100 daily visitors, you are more likely to encounter someone who has 100,000 followers than the person who is getting 10 daily visitors to their blog. Getting 1,000 daily visitors boosts your chances, and getting 5,000 daily visitors boosts your chances even more.

Getting more daily visitors will allow more people to know about you–and tell others about you. Getting more daily visitors leads to more visitors from other sources.

This is what many experts call The Snowball Effect. When you get more visitors, you will eventually reach someone who decides your content is worth promoting to 100,000 people. Then, some of those 100,000 people visit your blog, and your readership grows.

Why You Need To Make It Easier For People To Share Your Blog Posts

February 4, 2014 by Marc Guberti 3 Comments

Not all quality content gets shared on social networks. One of the reasons is that the content is hidden. The blog with the quality content is not popular yet. Another big reason why quality content does not get shared on a blog because sharing that content is a challenge. The person who wants to share the link has to write up their own tweet, copy the link, and paste it into the tweet without running out of characters.

In order to prevent that from happening, you need to make it easier for people to share your content. The best way to do this is have social sharing buttons at the bottom of all of your blog posts. You can see sharing buttons at the bottom of any one of my blog posts.

Another option is to have a sidebar widget on your blog. I do not use the sidebar option for the social sharing of my blog posts because that is not my preference. However, there are some bloggers who get their content shared more often because of it. As long as your social sharing buttons are easy to see, your blog posts will be shared more often.

People are looking to save as much time as possible. I was listening to an Optimize Press video recently, and the person talking told people to be patient because the Optimize Press plugin takes 1-5 minutes to complete the download. That’s what it has come down to. Waiting 1-5 minutes requires a lot of patience in a world that loads super fast. Waiting for the 5 second ads on YouTube is even worse. By making the process of sharing a blog post go by faster, more people will share your content. The less time it takes to do something, the more inclined someone is to perform that task.

5 Ways To Double Your Blog’s Traffic

January 21, 2014 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

The one thing on every blogger’s mind is getting more traffic that will lead to more sales, subscribers, and visibility. Doubling traffic is the dream of many bloggers. Whether that means going from 10 daily visitors to 20 daily visitors or going from 500 daily visitors to 1,000 daily visitors, bloggers want to double their traffic. In this blog post, I will show you five different ways to double your traffic. That means you will be able to get 10 times more traffic than now by implementing these tactics. I decided to add links to some of my older blog posts in order to provide more information about certain topics.

  1. Use Twitter to promote your blog. When you use Twitter to promote your blog, you need to grow a targeted following and consistently tweet frequently. Be sure to start and respond to conversations. Conversations on Twitter have the potential to lead to friendships and powerful connections. I tweet as frequently as I can throughout the day so more people see my blog. Tweeting a link to your blog at 3 pm does no good if most of your followers happen to use Twitter at 6 pm.
  2. Improve your blog’s SEO. By improving your blog’s SEO, people will have an easier time finding your blog on Google’s search engines. These are some tactics that will help you improve your blog’s SEO, but one of the easiest ones to implement is bounce rate. All you have to do is have links to your older blog posts in your new blog posts in order to get a lower bounce rate. After improving my blog’s SEO, my visitors stuck around because of my blog’s low bounce rate, and I saw an immediate increase in search engine traffic.
  3. Use Pinterest to promote your blog too. When you use Pinterest to promote your blog, you need to include pictures on your blog. Adding pictures helped me get a lot of traffic, and adding a “Pin It” button at the bottom of my blog posts increased the amount of times people shared my blog posts. A great way to get more Pinterest followers is by following others with this strategy in mind. As your boards get more pins, it will be okay to pin the same blog post multiple times because people are not likely to scroll all the way down. By consistently pinning old and new blog posts, your blog will be able to get more traffic.
  4. Guest blog on other people’s blogs. Guest blogging puts your content in front of a larger audience. That means more people will tweet your blog posts, share them on Facebook, pin them, and use all of the other social networks to tell more people about you. While it is important to start guest blogging as soon as possible, it is also important to identify the best guest blogging opportunity for you. Although people do not always come directly to your blog from the guest post, they will see your name more often. As people see you more frequently, they will have more trust in you. With that trust, they will look at your blog posts, subscribe to your blog, and buy your products.
  5. Get more people to write about you. These are the methods I use to get more people to write about me. By getting more people to write about you, more people will notice you. Having a remarkable story always helps out when it comes to getting more people to write about you.

Those are the 5 tactics I used to double my blog traffic. By implementing all five of these tactics, my blog went from 40 daily views to over 400 daily views in a few months. All of these tactics take time in order to see the results. However, after a few months, you will be able to see the big increase in traffic that all bloggers dream of.

5 Ways To Leverage Your Blog With Social Media

December 29, 2013 by Marc Guberti 2 Comments

When it comes to getting more traffic to your blog, social media can have a powerful impact. There are a lot of components that stop people from maximizing the potential of their social network and bring a lot of traffic to your blog. These are some ways to leverage your blog with social media and get the best results:

  1. Post your blog posts on social media consistently. On Twitter, I tweet about my blog 20 times every day. The other 4 tweets I send out on a daily basis are motivational quotes.
  2. It’s okay to have repeat posts on social media about the same blog post. Not everyone will see what you post on social media. In order to get more of your followers to see your blog posts, you need to send out multiple posts on your social networks about the same blog post. Depending on the blog post and how many tweets I already have scheduled, I usually tweet about an individual blog post once every two days. The blog posts that I tweet frequently get clicked and retweeted.
  3. Connect with your followers. If they have questions, you need to answer those questions. If your followers see you as a reliable person, they will ask you more questions and look at your blog.
  4. Add your blog’s link in your bio. This is a step that people miss. When you follow this step, there are some benefits. The benefit that a lot of people know about is when people view your bio, they may decide to look at your blog. A benefit that less people know about it that these links to your blog count as backlinks. Just by adding my blog’s link to my Pinterest account, I got a backlink from Pinterest. Having a backlink from a social network is a quality backlink which will boost your blog’s SEO.
  5. Quality, quality, quality. In order for a blog post to spread, it needs to be a quality blog posts. No matter how much marketing you do for a low-quality blog post, it won’t work in the long run. By writing quality blog posts, your marketing tactics will be able to work, and people will recognize you as an expert of your niche.

Social media is a powerful tool that has the potential to transform your blog if used to its potential. By utilizing these tactics, you will be able to dramatically improve your results and get more traffic to your blog.

Do you have any additional tips or suggestions that can help us all leverage our blogs with social media?
