4 Ways To Increase The Life Span Of A Tweet

August 11, 2014 by Marc Guberti 4 Comments

Increase Tweet Lifespan

On Twitter’s news feed, it is easy for a tweet to lose importance. Within a few minutes, the tweet that was once on the top of people’s newsfeeds is no longer to be found. The only way to view those types of tweets is to view the person’s profile and scroll down until the tweet gets discovered.

There is no such thing as the immortal tweet. Even Ellen DeGeneres’ famous selfie at the Oscars is not an immortal tweet. Although there is no such thing as an immortal tweet, you can increase the life span of your tweet. Here are four ways to do that:

  1. Pin your tweet to the top of your profile. Pinning your tweet to the top of your profile will ensure that more people see it. My recommendation is that a tweet only stays pinned on the top of your profile for 1 week so you can have a variety of tweets pinned to the top of your profile.
  2. Make your tweet something that others would want to retweet. In order for your tweet to have a better life span, it needs to spread on Twitter. In order to spread content on Twitter, your tweet needs to be something that others would want to retweet. Is it a motivational quote, a valuable article, or something else? Regardless of what that tweet is, it needs to be something that your followers would want to retweet.
  3. Embed the tweet in a new blog post. As your tweet is about to become forgotten, you can write a new blog post that has the tweet embedded. In most cases, it takes longer for a new blog post to get forgotten than a new tweet, and by promoting that tweet in the new blog post, your tweet’s life span will increase.
  4. Get more targeted Twitter followers. The bigger your audience is, the more powerful that audience will be in spreading your content. Power to the people! I almost forgot to mention these methods you can use to get more Twitter followers.

By increasing the life span of your tweet, more people will be able to see that tweet, and your content will spread across the powerful platform. What are your thoughts on the list? Do you have any additional tips on increasing the life span of your tweets? Please share your thoughts and advice below.

5 Things Your Competitors Can Teach You About Social Media

August 10, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Competition

In the thick waters of competition, many people want to do everything in their power to ignore the competition. Every competitor is rushing so quickly to rise above the other competitors that they forget to look around. Believe it or not, there are many things you can learn from your competition, and there are five things you can learn about them from social media.

  1. How to get more followers. Your top competitors are getting more followers every day than the average people. Chances are these competitors know a trade secret that few people know about. You can dig for articles about them on the internet to find out their secret method, and it works. As you become better at picking up on social media strategies, you will not need to search through as many articles. I know exactly how people get 1 million likes on Facebook, but it involves a lot of advertising.
  2. How to get more engagement. We have all learned at some point in our lives that some social media posts are better than others. Some of your competitors are getting more engagement than others. The competitors who are getting the most engagement are the ones you need to look at carefully. How are they putting it off? Is a giveaway the answer, a powerful article, motivational quote, or something else?
  3. What kind of content to post. All you need to do for this part is browse through your competitors’ timelines. When you browse through these timelines, pay special attention to the posts that get the most engagement. Do they have anything in common? If so, then that’s something you need to replicate.
  4. Which social networks to use. Some of your top competitors will have their strongest presences on the same social network. Pinterest is a great place for jewelry stores and tech gadget sellers. You can grow a presence on any social network for anything, but some social networks allow you to speed up the growth process based on users’ interests.
  5. How the audience engages. By looking at your top competitors, you will see how a targeted audience engages with them. By knowing how an audience engages, you will be able to provide the type of content that encourages those people to engage with you.

Competitors are constantly striving to push each other down and move up in their stampedes. However, if one person takes some time to analyze the leaders of the stampede, that person will be able to develop the same mindset and implement the same tactics as the leaders. Soon enough, that person will move closer to the front of the stampede, not the ones who constantly try to push each other around.

Why Bloggers Give Out Oodles Of Information For Free

August 6, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Free Content

At this point, I have written over 300,000 words for this blog. I know there will be a certain point when this blog reaches 1 million words. Many people wonder why I have given away this much information for free, and better yet, why I actually plan on continuing. Other bloggers have also given away oodles of free information, and people continue to wonder why these bloggers give so much content away from free.

The goal of free valuable content is to build a connection with the person. The more valuable content you provide for free, the better your paid products must be. Customers have a belief that a paid product is better than a free product. When bloggers provide oodles of free content, visitors believe that the paid products contain more valuable content than what they are already getting. This does raise the bar quite high for bloggers, but it also results in more sales.

Bloggers want their visitors to subscribe and receive blog posts through email. Then, this leads to a sale. If you want to boost your sales and get more subscribers, you need to provide more free content and make sure that free content is also valuable. That’s how giving away oodles of free information yourself can grow your business.

Archives

The problem with any blog is that as more content gets added to them, other content gets completely forgotten about. A tweet can only do so much to bring back attention to older blog posts that got published months ago. There are many blog posts on this blog that were written last year with methods that still work to this day. In fact, some of those blog posts are still popular, but they still don’t appear on the front page. I decided to dig through my blog to find 10 valuable articles that you should give a second look. They contain oodles of knowledge and things to think about. Some are longer than others.

5 Steps To Get On More Webinars And Podcasts

August 3, 2014 by Marc Guberti Leave a Comment

Mobile Podcasting

Getting on webinars and podcasts allow you to show off your expertise in a certain area and interact with other audiences. However, few people know how to get on a webinar or podcast to share their expertise. These people want to interact with more audiences, but they don’t know how to reach those other audiences. I remember when I always dreamed of getting on webinars and podcasts because at the time, it was something close to impossible. Now I have been on multiple webinars and podcasts. In order to get on more webinars and podcasts, follow these five steps.

  1. Build your credibility. The more credibility you have, the more reasons someone has to interview you on their webinar or podcast. Building your credibility will help you out in additional ways as well.
  2. Post valuable content. People will only invite you on their webinar or podcast if they know you are going to provide their audience with value. By posting valuable content on your blog, your YouTube videos, and anywhere else you are, these people will be more likely to include you in their next webinar or podcast episode.
  3. Grow your own audience. The people who have their own webinars and podcasts are looking for more exposure just as much as you are. There is always an incentive for a webinar or podcast owner to interview someone who has a big audience that can promote the webinar or podcast.
  4. Be on YouTube. Posting valuable content on a blog and being on YouTube are two different things. In order to conduct a webinar or a podcast, the guest needs to do most of the talking. The person in charge in most cases will just give you a quick intro, ask you questions, and say a quick comment each time you answer a question. Being active on YouTube shows a webinar or podcast owner that you can talk about your niche for a long period of time.
  5. Webinar and podcast shows begets more opportunities. As you get on more webinar and podcast shows, more people will come to you asking if you can be on their next show. After showing off that you can do fine on a webinar or podcast, the fear that some owners may have will be gone. They know that you can do a good job which means they would be happy to have you on their next show.

Those are the five steps to get on more webinars and podcasts. By getting on webinars and podcasts, you will be able to grow your audience and interact with people who you would have never been able to interact with before. What are your thoughts on the list? Do you have any additional tips on getting invited to go on more webinar and podcast shows? Please share your thoughts and advice below.
